Vivian listens to Al's story and clasps a brotherly hand over his shoulder in support when it seems to be hard for him to remember these things. After helping Bel up and a cheers with Reginar she speaks up with a question for him. "This day is indeed a great victory, one impossible if not for Avlar's deeds. As you said, for us the war still rages on. Could we trouble the city of Tamran for the one last gift of passage to the Isle of Terror as well?"

Before the group leaves for the Isle of Terror, Allister will want to purchase a new set of plate armor and sell his half plate. If there's any chance I can Diplomacize myself way to a better price, maybe at the temple of Gorum, then I'd like to RP it. Otherwise we can just subtract the cost once we know the final loot breakdown.

@ Vivian, can you clarify how long it takes to upgrade from standard to masterwork? If not too time-consuming I may want to have Vivian do that before we go, too.

Qina's heart went out to Allister. She couldn't even begin to imagine what her life would be like without her momma. She listened intently to his tale. Once he finished, she couldn't help but walk over to him and hug his leg.

As Bel slumped over and fell onto the ground, Qina shrugged and laid down on the floor too. If Allister had done it and now Bel was doing it, maybe it was the thing to do after a hard day.

After telling a secret that weighed heavily on him for seven years, Allister's mood drastically improves. He slows down his drinking and, after eating all the food he can reach, turns to Captain Vivian.

"Captain, will you come to the temple of Gorum with me? I want to sell this old armor, and I bet your people make the best plate armor in Golarion."

At the temple of Gorum:

Allister seeks out the head blacksmith at the temple of Gorum.

"My Captain tells me you Gorumites make the best armor money can buy. Just so happens I've got money. Think you can fit me for a suit of full plate? I'll sell this half plate. I'm sure you can melt it down for scrap. Then again, see that? That's Razmir blood. How about a discount to the people who brought them down?"

@GM, Maybe there's a modifier after our endeavors or in the presence of Captain Vivian? Either way Allister will purchase new full-plate, sell his half-plate.

"Of course Al, it would be my pleasure." Vivian will finish her meal and her conversation with Reginar. Then once she is sure that things have died down at the Forest Bounty, and the time of day makes sense, she'll return to the Temple of Gorum with Al and whomever else is interested in joining.

Temple of Gorum:
As Vivian opens the Temple's door she announces to Allister loudly as a way to mark their entrance, "Welcome to our Lord in Iron! Breathe that in, can you smell the forges? The coal, the oils, this is beauty!" She makes sure her symbol of faith hangs proudly outside of her armor and on her chest.

As they find people of power and influence in this local Temple, Vivian will make clear their intentions and needs, "Brother, Sister, we are those who crushed the den of Razmir in this fair city. Our war is far from over though, as their stain is smeared across this beautiful land. We rage Holy War against that greedy blasphemous lot and wish for the aid of these great forges so that Gorum can feel the satisfying crunch of the Razmiran pests beneath our Iron and Steel."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

The Iron Brother working the forges breaks into a large (and rather gap-toothed) smile. "Well of course you get a discount. If it weren't for you this temple'd probably be run straight out of town within a year 'cause of those nasty Razmirans!" Every time the man pronounces an 's' a whistle is made from the gaps in his teeth. "Anything we can do to help you is something worth doing."

Allister inspects the armor admiringly. It is far more beautiful and protective than his old hand-me-down half plate. "Fine work. I'll use it good." After fitting the armor, Allister insists on donning it immediately. As it is strapped on, he finds a question for the Iron Brother. "Do you know about the Isle of Terror? Our duty calls us there."

Once his discussion is complete, Allister will offer to shake the Iron Brother's hand. "Farewell friend."

"Don't know much lad, but that Isle is full o' bad mojo. Said to be continuously wracked by storms and ill-weather. I'd advise against goin', but that doesn't look like it'll stop you."

He takes Allister's hand, grip hearty and hale, "Farewell, and may the Lord in Iron watch over you and your companions."

And I want it to look like my sword, too. Big golden suns on my shoulders, you know? Stuff like that... I almost died fighting those Razmirans, I don't want that to happen again... It hurt."

Each time they pass a window or pass over a puddle the paladin slows to admire his new metal frame, grinning like an idiot.

"Hey Captain, what did that Iron Brother mean when he said the island had 'bad mojo'?"

So I'm MW'n Allister's Armor, Bel's Scythe, Brezik's Axe, Brezik's Tools, Gad's Sword, and Viv's Sword. Anything missed?

Craft(Armor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Vivian then picks up a polishing stone and smooths out some rough edges. "I've never really been around someone in this much armor, I'm going to have to study how you move."

"Thank you Brother, we'll stop by next time we're in town." Vivian smacks the armorer on the shoulder as they leave the temple.

"I think so, I'll have to pray and find some insight though. He meant people go there to die. It's likely shrouded by some kind of evil, a real Hell on Golarion. You'll have to make sure you bring extra light with you." She says the last bit with a smirk, teasing her friend. 'I never noticed, but Al is suddenly.. hot! Ahh I want to touch that armor again, it felt so cool to the touch. So smooth.. I wonder what it tastes like.. No.. is that weird?..' Allister might notice Vivian's stare resting on his new armor for longer than normal.

Vivian will sleep but only dream of being fitted in different full and half plate armors over and over again. Millions of unique designs and styles, one after the other she dons the armor and admires herself in the mirror.

When she wakes up Vivian has a light breakfast and goes about some errands in town. She purchases Nightdrops from a magic shop and gets some oil, cloth, and a wet stone for equipment upkeep. She sells her Morningstar, it doesn't seem to be necessary anymore with the heavy mace and her greatsword. Coming back to Gar's Last Meal she finds Allister.
"I think I figured it out, show me your armor, lay it out on your bed." She removes the bedsheet and starts tearing it into strips. After Allister does as she asks she takes 150gp in coins from him and starts placing then around the fullplate, wrapping it tighly to keep them in place upon the metal. Once the armor is adorn with coins and wrapped Vivian turns to Al. "Well, that's half of it, um. Now I need to do the magic, would you mind if I had some privacy?" DC 10 Sense Motive to feel slightly uncomfortable about what Vivian is going to do.

As they near the dining hall, Allister notices Vivian eyeing him up and down. He thinks nothing of it.

Once back at the dining hall, the paladin waits to catch the eye of his friends and grins like he achieved some great victory. If they do not notice him within the first couple seconds, he shakes unsubtly to make his new full plate clank and jingle.

"What do you think, Brezik? Is it made good? I thought it would be heavier... Maybe you could add some metal plates so it is more thick, or something? Would you do that for me?"

Allister is in a splendid mood the rest of the evening, laughing and joking with his friends and anyone else who will listen. By the night's end the temple of Razmir and the traumatic events already feel years and miles away.

Later when Vivian returns he is reluctant to remove his new armor - he had planned to sleep in it - but he knows Vivian has powerful magic from her God of Iron. "Be careful with it..."

Brezik walks up to Allister and then walks around the paladin. He grabs the armor and gives the paladin a rough shake. After this he nods and sits back down.

It's good armor Allister. Type of work that would take a skilled armor smith months to do. Wouldn't feel right just slapping on more metal just for the sake of weight... that would be disrespectful to the man who put so much time into making it... but maybe we could do something to strengthen the metal that's already here. You know mend what ain't broken. Bind it all with a little.... Brezik puts his head down and waggles his eye brows in a conspiratorial way and then whispers his last word. Magic.

We can go shopping tomorrow for what I'll need. Besides we need to make contact with our boat captain friend.

Throughout the next two days Vivian asks her friends whether they're like her to improve some of their items. She ends up channeling the strength of Gorum into Brezik's axe and tools, Gad's broadsword, and lastly her own greatsword. On Bel's request, she casts Continual Flame for him and creates a sort of eternal torch. "Heh, talk about an Everflame."

Fez, would you allow Viv to cast Continual Flame onto her Heavy Mace, then purchase a simple cloth bag that she can tie over it in moments that she wanted to cover the light? I'd go with whatever type of action you desire to bare and hide.

That works for me, move action should suffice if necessary. What color is your fire?

It's not flashy but as Gorum's colors are red and grey I think Viv would go with Red. Bel what color is yours? Anyone else want some party lights? Viv can pretty much give everyone one during this RP downtime.

The next two days go by far to fast for Brezik. Early in the morning he goes shopping at the morning markets amazed at how many people are there getting supplies at such an early day. After that he spends the majority of both days working on Allisters armor and then again on his own Great-Axe.

He's very proud when he presents Allister the magicafied armor. You see Allister what I did was try to make it so that the metal that was already there would be more rigid and still have a little more give than normal. I added these five holy symbols on the center of the breast plate and then again at the fore arms and shinguard to hide the runes underneath. I tried to keep the engravings I added simple but in the end decided it was just better to obscure them with this fire pattern that I added. I thought putting the gold filigree into the etching would be a nice touch too. I know it doesn't look like more than just a little engraving and a few holy Symbols... but I think it will help keep you safer.

Brezik shows up the next day with his own axe reworked as well. the inscriptions are similar to those on Allisters armor but where as he used gold for the etching in Allisters armor he has used cold iron in his own axe so that the baser metal stands out against the refined steal. In addition he has added two blackened stones to the head of the axe to add a little weight and another to the pommel for balance. If anyone asks about his choices he will explain that he went back to the temple of Razmir and pulled the stones out of the rubble there... besides there's something about "iron and stone" that he likes.

On the third day he will be the first to get up and be ready to travel...

When Brezik presents the finished armor Allister is dumbstruck. Whoa... Is that?... How did you?... Brezik, I..."

A tear rolls down Allister's cheek. His hands tremble as he receives the beautiful new armor. A smile slowly emerges, then grows and grows until the paladin is grinning like a child with twinkling eyes.

As Brezik worked his forge and magic, Qina sat on a stool in the corner, with an assortment of needles and inks on a small bench next to her. For most it was just another place to sit but to her it was a spacious work table. She had Gad sit down on the floor in front of her and placed his forearm in her lap. Crafting Mage armor tattoo for Gad.

It has been a few days since you have turned over evidence of the temple of Razmir’s involvement in high crimes against the nation of Nirmathas. The city is awash in the news of the temple’s expulsion and many of its faithful are already languishing in squalid cells in Tamran’s prison. This morning the you receive a note from the Pathfinder Reginar asking them to meet him at the Tamran docks, ready to travel.

When everyone's done shopping and crafting. Warning: Exposition dump ahead

Reginar's craggy face breaks in a smile seeing you, though it becomes dour fairly quickly afterward. "Good to see you again. I hope that these past few days have allowed you to rest and recuperate, because you're going to need all of your skills and the luck of the gods to see this particular journey through. Iramine now has all of the amulet fragments (hers, Asar’s, and Kassen’s) and that with them she can now create the key that will unlock the doors to the City of Golden Death, fabled treasure city of Tar-Baphon, where the Whispering Tyrant hid his immense wealth.

The Pathfinder Chronicles state that the City of Golden Death was once a thriving metropolis called Kestrillon, a shining beacon of magical research. Tar-Baphon himself led an army onto the island, conquered the city, and renamed the city Xin-Grafar after the Thassilonian style. He stored his wealth there, protecting it with a nefarious trap.

Later, the Chronicles say, Tar-Baphon used the city as a base from which to build the Wizard-King’s Pit, a trap for the god Aroden. Tar-Baphon lured the Last Azlanti to the island in the hopes that he’d be able to force Aroden to descend into the pit. Aroden would then be sucked to the bottom and deposited on the Negative Energy Plane, where he would succumb to that plane’s energies. When Aroden successfully thwarted the wizard-king’s attempt on his life, Tar-Baphon was destroyed, though he would later rise again as the Whispering Tyrant, one of Golarion’s most feared nightmares. The Wizard-King’s Pit was never destroyed and lies open, connecting the lush, forested island to the Negative Energy Plane—a connection that, over time, has laid waste to the land around it and given the island its current name and reputation."

About half way through his story Reginar began pacing and now continues to do so while looking everyone in the eye (or eye slits as the case may be). "Never let your guard down there, the wildlife and land itself is warped into only a minor semblance of what it once was. There are times when the island cannot be seen at all because of large negative energy storms that encompass the entire landmass. That's in addition to the poisonous waters and terrors that work there in the night. I've chartered Captain Walran and the Black Mist once again to take you there.

I asked around about Iramine and those Razmirans. She hurriedly left with at least 20 and possibly as many as 25 cultists. They rented the first boat that would take their money, a flat-bottomed riverboat out of Druma called the Witch’s Stitches that could barely hold Iramine, her cultists, their supplies, and the boat’s crew. That ship is normally slow and wallowing itself, but with all the extra weight will take even more time to reach the Isle. You have a very good chance to catch up to them, despite the several week lead."

He gives you one last look, concerned, yet desparate. "Be careful. The Isle of Terror does not treat intruders well. That city, the City of Golden Death, is likely trapped, cursed, or both. Watch your step in Bar-Taphon's domain. Any questions?"

Vivian turns down Brezik's offer with a stern glare. Then, with the news of the Witch's Stitches Vivian nods to Gad. Once Reginar's initial briefing is done she says to the half-orc, "We'd be smart to prepare for a sea battle then."

Looking back at Reginar she asks, "So you're telling me the Isle is wrapped in an eternal storm caused by an open gate to the negative energy plane? And somewhere near this gate is where the Iramine is seeking the fortune of the Whispering Tyrant? Gods, Kassen what were you caught up in?!"

With a sigh Vivian runs her hands through her shoulder length, thick black hair and lets the overwhelming absurdity of the mission pass over her. Looking more confident now, she buckles down to the task with a clearer head. "Alright, if Kassen did it so can we. Brezik, by the sounds of it we'll really be relying on your trap skills. Qina, you're knowledge of magic will be critical in keeping us alive and deciphering the arcane mysteries we'll face. I have the bad feeling things are waiting for us that I can't even fathom.. But up first, Gad we're all trusting you to help crazy Walran get us there dry."

Finally turning back to Reginar, "How in the hell did you convince the captain in the first place?"

Gad smiles his gruesome smile and salutes Vivian.

"We'll make it to the island Captain, even if I have to pick up the boat and swim it there myself."

Reginar shrugs, "Mostly eternal storms. They die off every now and then. And the Pathfinder Society provides a nice salary for men and women held on retainer. Captain Walran is one such individual, and he was mightily happy that you'd be traveling with him again, though he has taken on some more crew in the time you've been in the city."

Not trying to ignore the question Brezik, but I'm waiting to see how Bel responds...

At Gad's mention of swimming Vivian shutters. Just then she realizes that she hasn't bathed since they left Kassen, spending the nights in which she would have had the chance in her room rubbing a mixture of armor oil and perfume rather than fetching hot water. 'Has it really been two weeks now? I wonder of anyone notices.. the perfume and oil should cover anything up.. the city smells so foul anyways..'

Just had the idea, removed 20gp for the cost of perfume. Only of RP significance.

Following Gad's salute, Qina tried to give her best salute. Like a child mimicking a soldier, the salute was more comical than professional. But her heart and dedication were in the right place.

"I'll do my best ma'am...Captain, Captain ma'am, but I don't right understand half of it to begin with." Qina shrugged and smiled.

"Brezik seems to know magic too now so I'll just ask him if I don't know."

Bel listens in silence as Reginar speaks. Memories that are not his own flood through his mind until he cannot tell truth from dream.

Storms... Blades... falling... Witches stitches... Arazni... Authok... Kessen... Any Questions?

Reginar's question draws the Samsaran back into the room.

"Yes sir, just one. Does anything stir on the island? Living or... otherwise. Other that the cultists and the magic of the island itself, what can we expect to oppose us?"

Enough of this, FOCUS, your friends need you now.

Reginar looks a little dumbstruck by Brezik's question, but shakes it off. "Tar-Baphon was one of the deadliest forces in all of Golarion, the lich-king who slumbers under Lastwall. I'm certain he'd hate Razmir too, if only because he claims to be a living god, the last of which defeated Tar-Baphon's mortal form."

Thinking on the reports he's read Reginar winces with Belathorian's question. "Terrible beasts. Pathfinders (what few) that have returned are changed by their experience and speak only of dark things that hunted them in the night and bolts of pure negative energy that hounded their every waking moment." A shiver rolls across Reginar's chest and shoulders, but he clamps down on it quickly.

Reginar nods and grins, though the seriousness of your task pulls his lips back down. "I'll watch him. You watch yourselves now. This isn't going to be pretty. Come back alive, all of you."

Captain Walran is extremely pleased to see you, giving large smiles and hearty back slaps all around. "Glad to see you again, always happy to work with you Keepers. What's our port?" Reginar yells from the dock, "Take them to Fort Landing!" Walran's smile falters a bit, but he shrugs it off and declares, "To the Isle of Terror, eh! Why not?" He takes you back to the cabin and the meager bunks you knew on the way to Tamran to drop off your gear. After, Walran introduces you to Ewem again, as well as several new crew members, the most memorable of which is Mabon the Destroyer, an elderly pirate captain, nothing but gray hair and beard, always talking of his glory days in the Arcadian Ocean.

Walran explains his course to you as the Black Mist pulls out of the harbor, "This poor old barge won't survive the waves and mess of the inner lake, so we're not chancing it until we have the shortest route from shore to island. I'll be following the coast until the Druma border, then we'll move out into the Lake proper. Sound good?"

Seeing Walran puts a big smile on Brezik's face. while he had seen some other dwarves in the capital he never really talked to any of them for very long. but to him Walran was like an uncle. He still remembered how accepting the older dwarf had been the first time they met. Brezik grabs the man and pulls him into a bear hug.

Captain Walran.... It's good to see you.

Brezik waits expectantly for the captains greeting it never having even occurred to him that he might be acting a little too familiar.

Qina:
If you ever retrieve your cooking supplies you will find a brand new waffle Iron and Coffee pot have miraculously been added to them. There's also a sack of flour, some butter, a bottle of maple syrup, and some ground coffee.

Walran gives many a hearty slap to Brezik's back, "Good to see you lad. I hope you've taken my words to heart and aren't letting your name hold you back."

The barge putters along the coast, no more than a mile or two out at any given time. The sailors go about their tasks and leave you alone for the most part. It is as the day moves on past noon that one of the lookouts calls your attention towards the inner lake. What appears to be a horse made entirely of water is running along and keeping pace with the barge.

Allister is happy to be back on the water. His mood is naievely optimistic.

"Boat Captain Wally! Good to see you, my friend!" Allister struggles with the conflicting Captain title that Walran and Vivian (who is not in-fact a Captain) share. He takes to calling them Land Captain Vivian and Boat Captain Wally.

After ten minutes on the ship he takes the crowbar from his backpack and pries open the lid of his shipping container, then removes his gemstone chair from within. He sets the chair on the deck and watches as the shoreline passes by.

When the water horse appears, Allister's jaw drops. "Oh, wow!" He had barely seen any wild animals since arriving in the city. The creature is so beautiful it makes his heart ache.

Leaning over the side, Allister whistles out to the water horse. His heart's desire is to pet the creature.

Bel offers a shallow bow to the captain and crew as he boards the vessel once more.

"You know best sir."

is all he has to say regarding their route.

As the morning passes he takes up position on the waterward side of the barge, leaning out to trail his hand in the cool waters. He watches the water horse but offers no words.

Vivian:
You recognize that creature as a water elemental, known for their ability to create small vortexes in the water and their resistance to all forms of physical attack. This one is rather large and able to move through the water at great speed.

Vivian is reluctant to take off her armor this time. The week without it in the Temple was awful. Come hell and high water, she'd rather drown with it than be apart any longer.

Seeing the water horse Vivan smiles and walks up to be next to Bel and Al, "That's a Water Elemental. Might be beautiful from here but get next to it and you'll likely be in a vortex. Our steel is useless against it as well, which scares the s!%$ out of me, but it is pretty elegant how swift and gracefully it moves."

Whistling as she boarded the boat, Qina waved to everyone and headed towards her bunk. Once she stashed her travel pack, she immediately headed towards what sufficed as a kitchen. Staying in taverns was nice and all, but they generally didn't let you use the kitchen yourself and Qina enjoyed cooking. Slightly oblivious to her own power, Qina believed in being a morale officer and she knew how much food could mean to some people, Brezik in particular. So it was that she about trying to prepare a meat pie that she had learned about at the last tavern. It wasn't her best work, but even her worst work was still better than most.

As the journey begins Brezik stows most of his supplies including his armored jacket in his quarters and then heads back out on deck. He spends most of his time sitting on an old box next to Allister cracking jokes that aren't remotely funny.

When the Elemental shows up he exclaims to no one in particular. Well look at that. Then realizing Qina isn't there he runs to the open door of the cabin and calls in.

Hey Qina you gotta see this it's a horse made our of water. Vivian says its some kind of elemental thing.

Halfling Inactive

Rushing out to see what Brezik was excited about, Qina almost tripped over her own feet. Could it be more crabs? Or another crocodile? Did he say something about water whores? What, like mermaids or something.

She rushed over to the rail to see what all the excitement was about. "Woahhhhh. Did you guys see that...that...whatever that is" she said pointing to the water horse.

The horse dips below the waves as though disappearing from view behind a hill. It breaches close by the Black Mist, trotting along at a leisurely pace, shaking its mane, allowing excess water to fly about the ship and its onlookers. It makes sounds as a river does, babbling and quiet one second, rushing and roaring the next. It seems like it's trying to tell you something.
