I plan to start Q4 by Midnight UTC on Monday, 20 September, but I thought I'd try to get it filled.

The Playtest is up for the two new classes. Psychic and Thaumaturge. The playtest will run until October 29th. You can find the playtest documents in the link to the blog below. Paizo is going to leave it open enough so that PbP can playtest some of these so if you have time create one and try out a quest / bounty or two!

Please all remember that, as the Org Play playtest rules note, the playtest classes are opt-in for GMs, so if you want to play one in a game please ask your GM for permission first and understand that some may prefer not to run with the playtest classes present.

And GM's, if you open recruitment during the playtest period then it probably wouldn't be a terrible idea to indicate your stance to avoid any confusion or back and forth.

I'm really not up to speed after all this time, on PFS2E.

Is there an Achievement Point cost for a leshy? I didn't see it in "red" under "My account"

Leshies are free now. I think (but am not sure) you still need to buy the boon, but the boon costs 0 AcP.

I'm currently signed up for this, first play by post on these forums. How do you handle character sheets and post formatting?

Relocating this to the Discussion forum. I'm posting using a character just to show FoxxiGranpa what a statblock format looks like.

Essentially you put your statblock in your character's profile. Only way to demonstrate this would be to post as a character.

Post formatting is pretty simple:

For bold - simply surround your text between [*b] and [/b] tags (remove the '*' for it to actually work). Bold generally means you're speaking out loud.

Italicized text is just between [*i] and [/i]. Usually for thought-speak.

The dice roller may take some getting used to:

[dice=Perception]1d20+5[/dice

(you'll need to close the bracket for it to roll. I left it open just to demonstrate the format.

I'm currently signed up for this, first play by post on these forums. How do you handle character sheets and post formatting?

Linked here is the template I use for posting character sheet information to Profiles.

Other people use Hero Lab and paste that into their profiles. Other people use things like Mythweavers and link it.

Most ubiquitously important information for your profile header among Paizo PbP GMs is HP, AC, and Perception.

I also reference a character's gender and pronouns often enough to request my players put it in their header.

Alright folks, we have another 2x AcP Event Weekend coming up for the soon to be released One-Shots for Starfinder and Pathfinder 2E. Below you will find a sign-up sheet for GM Registration along with the weekend that your PbP / PbD Table must start on to earn double AcP. If you table starts before or after that allotted weekend then you will not receive the double AcP.

Any details / summary of what the One-shot is about?

Unable to give any of that information at this time. All I am allowed to give out for planning purposes are the name and dates.

Nope they can be played here as well, that is just there so I can locate the Discord folks to PM them if I need to.

A GM can register for both, so long as the bandwidth to run both is there.

I think that's awesome! Unfortunately, games on Paizo.com must be in English (only because the moderators speak only English and otherwise wouldn't know if someone breaks a rule.)

Good point. I connected here with some people here to head over for a French language game elsewhere a few years ago.

We had a Spanish-language table of some PbP specials a couple years ago, too. Organized through the con here, but run on a Spanish-language site.

A Pathfinder Society Quest designed for levels 1–4 (subtiers 1–2 and 3–4).

Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry has arranged for the PC's transport to the pirate haven of Port Peril to make contact with Free Captain Stella Fane and negotiate a contract with her, facilitating Society movements through the pirate blockades in the area. The job seems simple: track down the the pirate captain, secure the agreement, and then return to Absalom. But few things are simple when a den of villainous pirates is involved, and it's unlikely the PCs will be able to leave Port Peril without throwing a few punches in a proper pub brawl!

I wanted to ask about the one-shoots and weekends of increased ACP. Are there some technical 'requirements' to make it work? Meaning can the GM create a gameplay thread before? And just start posting content 'on the weekend'? Or is it that: the gameplay thread may only be created starting at the date xx?

I'm using RPG Chronicles for the first time and want to upgrade my account. When I give it my credit card information it says I need a verified email account, but gives no clue as to how to do this. Anyone know?

Did you verify your email when you created your account? Normally when you create your account you get a link to click on to verify your email.

I guess not. I created it months ago. There doesn't seem to be a way to alter your account directly. I sent them an email.

You can create the gameplay thread, recruit, and role play before the start date. Just no text from the actual scenario until that weekend.

Anyone planning to run something low tier (other than Watery Soup)? I've got a new Investigator (my first) that I'd love to test drive...

Has anyone purchased the Second Chance boon before? Its short description says, "Gain the benefits of a resurrect ritual." I'm assuming the actual boon mentions how you gain the benefits, such as the degree of success you have for the ritual.

I'm concerned I may need it because GM Tiger is killing me and don't want to spend 40 points if I still have to roll a ritual check to see if I critically fail and botch the resurrection.

(FAQ) What is the full text of the Second Chance boon?

[ ] Second Chance (Limited-Use, Service): Adventuring is deadly business, but you have a powerful favor you can call in if your travels result in a premature death. You can check the box that precedes this boon to gain the benefits of the resurrect ritual (Pathfinder Core Rulebook page 415), so long as the ritual’s total cost in diamonds does not exceed 1,000 gp. If the ritual would cost more than 1,000 gp, you must pay any additional costs beyond 1,000 gp.

The ritual takes 1 day to perform and automatically succeeds.

The location of that FAQ should be a FAQ.

It's not one of the top hits if you punch "FAQ" into the search, and "Pathfinder FAQ" (the highest hit) does not cross-reference it. The landing page for "Organized Play FAQ" (the highest ranked relevant search hit) requires the user to make an additional click on a menu not very obvious on mobile.

Yeah, it's pretty baseline [low quality] UI that we all have resigned to accept, but it's something that we could help by linking in the sticky threads.

Re: Headshot the Rot,

I will be sending in the Scenario Support request for these items on October 10th. We do not yet know exact release dates nor when you will actually receive them so please be patient with that process. We just wanted to get word out so that you can plan ahead if you wish to run / play in these One-Shots.

Is it too later to join in on the scenario request? I just had several things change making me more available that weekend to start a PbP and would like to do this.

Unfortunately I have already sent in the scenario support request, so you would have to purchase out of pocket, but you can still run the One-Shot on the 2x AcP Weekend. Just fill out the GM Registration on the link and I will add you to the tracker.

How does one trip with a whip in Pf2e?

You would use the trip action and since the weapon has the trip trait tag you don't need a free hand.

Source Core Rulebook pg. 283 2.0

You can use this weapon to Trip with the Athletics skill even if you don't have a free hand. This uses the weapon's reach (if different from your own) and adds the weapon's item bonus to attack rolls as an item bonus to the Athletics check. If you critically fail a check to Trip using the weapon, you can drop the weapon to take the effects of a failure instead of a critical failure.

So for a whip (or any other weapon with the Trip trait), you just try to Trip, whenever you'd otherwise be able to make an attack.

So I am assuming that I'd have to pump athletics to get a better trip result?
