I've got to bow out. Best of luck. Should be an entertaining game.
I'm sorry to see you. You take care and good luck in future campaigns!
Amara Ishu |
There is 6 of us, we should be fine, assuming this game gets going.
rknop |
Sorry to see you go.
For this game, I don't think we need to worry so much about party balance; I'm going to tailor the story to who you all are.
Do you all think you pre-game relationships are worked out and stable as you want them? In particular, I want to make sure it's clear what really is the agreed-upon story vs what are just ideas and suggestions.
Amara Ishu |
I feel that they are as stable as they can be. I didn't (and still don't) object to anything else other players have suggested in relation to my characters, and as far as I can tell, everyone here is rather happy with what everyone else has discussed in relation to their own characters as well.
I'm ready when everyone else is!

What about us second stringers? I've ended up second fiddle to a talkative Lizard...
I wanna get out there a show my stuff too, I want to do well by my mates at the pier but I also want to shine just a little as well.
rknop |
OK, going through things. I would ask you all that you please keep the background story and descriptions of your characters on the profile page for the alias, so I have it there for reference. Also, please put the game stats for both your character and your business in the profile page. This will serve as the "official record" that I can refer to for these things.
I am currently working on putting a Wiki up for the game where I will store maps and game notes. I will start with a map of Absalom showing the location of all of your businesses. I've hit a system error with the wiki that I'm fighting with, and will get back to shortly. When I've got it up, I'll send you all a password for access.
Things I still need
Amara -- I haven't found the Ultimate Campaign crunch for your temple. I may just have looked in the wrong places; where is it? Am I blind?
Sakaan -- Likewise, I haven't found the crunch for the Lizard Pier. Please point me to it if I'm just again being obtuse.
rknop |
OK, the Wiki is up.
There's not much there yet. I've sent you all your username and password for the wiki as a private message.
Because this is a wiki, all of you can edit it as well. Feel free to make pages for your PCs if you wish. You can also use this as a place to keep notes and such for the game.
Take a look at the map of Absalom. Let me know if you don't like where I've placed your business' primary location.
Sakaan |
I wanted to make a slight change to the Lizard Pier anyway but it's there... i'll change some things to make them easier for you to find.

Looks good. I would have placed it a bit closer to the docks, but I'll see how it goes. Might actually work better where you put it.
I'll try and fix my characters' and business's stats probably tomorrow before work. I'll bring my laptop with me and work on it before work. Using my iPhone right now and I don't have Internet at my house (can't afford it unfortunately).
Amara Ishu |
That positioning for the Temple looks fine to me. Thanks for the catch of my Temple Crunch, should be added to my profile now for ease of viewing, as always let me know if you want me to add anything else.
Sirith the bard |
I looked at the map a bit more and I'm actually likening where you put it as it'll receive a good bit of visitors from nearby districts.
Sirith the bard |
I like it, too! Very good idea on putting the temple near three districts. This brings a good bit of foot traffic from three districts.
rknop |
I deliberately put Sunsets & Seascapes closer to the Starstone Cathedral, because aspirants try to set up shop as close as they can afford to the Cathedral before going through. Callistria is, of course, a well-established deity, so she didn't need to be quite so close to the Starstone Cathedral. And, I figured with the side business (well, the two side businesses-- the "official" side business of many Callistrian temples, and the hidden side business of this one), being close to a couple of other districts would be helpful.
Amara Ishu |
Amara definitely appreciates how accessible she is to the other districts, it definitely helps increase the variety of clientele she might have access to.

First of all, love the password you gave me, I fully approve.
Second, I think I would have prefered The Undertow having a better view of the water, but I think where it is set will be fine. I'll set up a tower or something :-P
rknop |
I can move you right to the docks, if you like. I figured since the business wasn't directly a shipping or stevedore business (like the Lizard Pier is), it would probably not be right on the water.
Best view of the water is up in the Precipice Quarter... :)
The Nameless Librarian |
I actually originally thought of the precipice quarter, but I figured the undead in the area would be bad for business. Just leave me where I am, I couldn't see that far over the bay anyway :-P
The Nameless Librarian |
"I appreciate the offer Sakaan, but it wouldn't help much. Haven't been able to see much farther than the the end of a pier for about a decade or so (chuckle)"
He has the Clouded Vision curse :-P
Amara Ishu |
Is the GM waiting on us for something?
In the meantime, I'll try and get wiki pages up for my characters if time allows.

It's cool! I actually like it where it is now. Excellent choice btw!
And sorry y'all for just now posting. Busy days at work. I'm off tomorrow so I'll be able to do some work on the wiki and put up some quick stats here.
rknop |
A reminder to everybody: please make sure all your stats (character and organization) are in your primary player's profile.
Also, please include all the background information about your character that you may have posted in the recruitment thread in the profile as well. That way, it's all in one place for me to reference.
(At some point, I'd like to get the background stuff copied over to the Wiki. You can do that yourself if you like!)
Sirith the bard |
Trying to figure out how to do he organization in my quick stats.
Sirith the bard |
Okay. And sorry for not posting yet. I tried last night but somehow paizo went down and I was unable to post. I'm at work and my break ends soon. I might be able to post one before it ends though.
rknop |
Would you like for me to wait for you GM to give cues on event timings.. say when I arrive back at the Lizard Pier or just go with what seems good for the story?
A general answer for this question -- you can assume that timings work out so that you run into each other. This will help it be a player-driven game, and stop things from grinding to a halt waiting for me to post.
The game will probably continue to sprawl, with action going on in different places of Absalom at once. We can be a little bit flexible about time and travel time so that serendipity can happen. As long as you're not unreasonable (e.g. going back and forth between the Docks and the Ascendant Court during the course of a single conversation), you guys can meet up (including "chance" meetings) as you wish.
Amara Ishu |
Nop, I dunno where he went :/
Sirith the bard |
I was going to see what the others were going to say first but that's good too.
