Awesome! Reposting from last page to get Justin back on track:
No Aklo here, yet,... :)
"Hey, HEY! Speak COMMON if you want to surrender you over-sized arthropod! Otherwise we're just going to assume that your insulting our parental lineage and continue to whack on your thick shell!" Justin calmly calls over the shoulders of the others surrounding the creature.
PER Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
(Does this mean I can also peek at Nari's PERCEPTION spoiler?)
Justin's eyes widen, and he holds out his arms, as if keeping his balance. His eyes shift back and forth, but he is looking at the ground, not the insectoid combatant.
"Ooooh,... THAT can't be good." He mutters.
"Oh NO you don't! That'll be enough of that. Whatever your doing." Justin cries, a little less calmly than a moment ago.
Justin plucks a bit of magical goo from a vest pocket. He forms the spell in his mind, and tosses the bit at the creature with a chant of "Veritas, Sphericus, Forzare!!"
The bit turns into a glimmer of light, which zips towards the creature, spreading out as it flies. As it reaches the creature it forms a sphere, attempting to trap it within.
Justin casts Resilient sphere on the thing. A Reflex save vs DC:20 prevents it from being captured in the sphere.
Justin Case
Justin's gaze settles on the rattling sewer grate. The wizard wrinkles his nose at the rush of foul air that gushes from it.
(We're talking about a guy that travels with bat guano in his pocket. That should tell you something. The smell emanating from the sewer is FOUL. It makes the Trench seem pleasant by comparison.)
"I've got a bad feeling about this,..."

KARRIN-DNPC
(Last post from Karrin was a double move to get into range)
"Oh, that's a nice note." Karrin says to the howling creature absent mindedly, seemingly oblivious to the rumbling around her.
"BUUT, can you hit a HIGH C? Here, let me help,..."
And Karrin swings her mighty ax upwards, determined to take the creature and his note into a higher trajectory,...

Karrin’s axe bites deep, eliciting a howl
I think she was doing non-lethal?
OK Sophi did that AoE, so I’m going to call this round done
Suddenly there is an answering howl to the carapaced man, issuing in a roar from the sewer. A column of grey matter spews upward, shedding foul water and bits of garbage. Upon a second glance, it isn’t matter, but pulsating flesh. A myriad of different eyes open along the grey hide and an unholy cacophony of scream issue from more than a dozen mouths
OK, think about what you are going to do, and I’ll continue this soon

Oops... forgot Justin’s spell
Reflex 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
The gleaming sphere leaves Justin’s hands, spinning and expanding into a man-sized bubble of force that streaks towards the carapaced foe. At the last moment the creature executes a disturbing full split that looks like it involves way too many joints than the man’s legs should have. The sphere flies over his head, splattering on a graffitied brick wall. Just as quickly he regains his fighting stance

Melchizedek:(keep forgetting him)
Special Guest Star:
Melchezidek seems frozen by the horrid tableau in front of him. He shakes off his torpor and raises his warhammer. He yells over to Hamar
“I think this has gone past the subdual stage! Look at that giant screeching animate turd that just popped up!”
He then begins chanting a spell
As this is going on , the group hears a yell from behind them
“Wut in tarnation is THAT???”

Hamar continues to twirl his weapons teeth gritting in rage, "Are we capturing or slaying these... things?"
"Slaying! DEFINITELY Slaying!!" Justin cries over the din the living sewage is making.
As this is going on , the group hears a yell from behind them
“Wut in tarnation is THAT???”
Despite his preoccupation with what is in front of him now, Justin cannot help but risk a glance over his shoulder at the newest voice to join the now-noisy alleyway.
Justin Case
'OooooooKaaaaay,.... Sure. A Cowboy dwarf. Why Not?!?' Justin thinks to himself, using slang he picked up on a particularly backwater Prime world one trip.
'We have every OTHER oddball combo of profession & race, including undead, in the alley already. What's one more? The more the merrier!' The wizard chortles to himself,... with only minor overtones of incipient hystericality.
"Giant, thick-shelled insectoid with mental powers and murderous intent, and a giant animated sewage/ooze thing. Pick your target! There's plenty for everyone!" Justin shouts to the dwarf, already turning his attention and his mind back to the aforementioned targets.
'What was it Caldric always said?,...' Justin muses as the analytical portion of his mind reviews his available spells,
',..."If you find yourself facing 2 or more problems, you are also looking at 2 possible solutions.",... Hmmm.'
Dear GM, what sort of K: skill check do I need to make to determine if the giant pile of sewage is a conjured creature, or a regular occupant of the sewers being mentally controlled?

That’ll do pig, that’ll do...
Shogoths have Intelligence after a fashion, but they are known more for their hardiness against most forms of attack and their madness-inducing wails
Justin Case
Thenk yew o' most gracious of Dungeon Monkeys! ;)
To anyone actually paying attention to anything besides the animated garbage pile, Justin's mental efforts are clear. You can actually see the wheels turning as he hastily reviews old books, crumbling parchments, and bad rubbings of ancient inscriptions in his mind's eye.
Fortunately, he's also really good at this. He may not have a 'Painting perfect' memory, but it's darn close. And within a few seconds you can almost hear the tumblers of his mind click into place over the roaring of the newest arrival as he takes one reference from a dusty old tome, matches it with a partial ancient scroll, realizes it resembles something out of 'Dungeoneering Survival for Idiots who would be Adventurers', and gets,...
Justin's shoulders slump.
"Aberrations. WHY did it have to be Aberrations?!?" He moans dramatically.
Then Justin takes a deep breath and shouts, "SHOGGOTH!!"
"Think giant, basic-intelligence $#&%-golem with ALL the toughness of an undead dragon and a scream that would make a banshee jealous! Keep bug-guy between us and it! Make it have to go through him to get to you!" Justin shouts at the rest of the folks in the now-getting-crowded alley as he mentally reviews his spells, and comes up empty on the ONE he was looking for.
"Can anyone cast a zone of silence? Like NOW?!? We do NOT want it to start singing!"
Justin Case
Melchezidek looks up at this as his chant finishes and a shining hammer materializes and streaks towards the shoggoth.
“I got a scroll with that spell! Gimme s sec!”
He’ll be able to cast it at the bottom of the current round
"Remind me to add THAT one to both our shopping lists!" Justin calls to Mel gratefully.
"Heavy hitters, keep the bug pinned down and between us and the garbage pile! Casters fall back so your not hindered by the silence zone!" Justin barks, doing a fair imitation of Karrin in her 'drill sergeant' mode.
"Mel, be sure to cast the spell on the rubble nearby, or one of the fighters. The Shoggoth is as magic-immune as anything can be. It's likely to pop any spell we cast directly on it like a soap bubble! Which makes MOST of my spells mostly useless." The wizard growls in frustration.
"But Not ALL,..." Justin adds with a cunning grin.
Checking my spell list. (I think I updated the PC sheet at home and never re-posted it on site) Justin thinks he has an idea :)

OK, I have plugged in new inits for those who haven't posted. We are starting at the top of the initiative. To facilitate this, and since a few folks are MIA, I will post actions for anyone not responding by ...around Wednesday.
The magical hammer Mel summoned streaks twoards the animate hill of greying turdlike flesh. He hastily pulls a small clay tablet from a pouch and begins chanting again.
The carapaced creature turns again to Hamar, striking out with its sharpened handsword

Oh, it;s MY turn! :P
Justin rubs his temples, grinding his teeth as he searches his prepared spells.
Then he grins, finding what he was looking for. Buried among the extra spells his magical ring allows him to memorize each day, (and recently traded out in his daily routine for a defensive illusion enchantment that he never ended up with enough time to cast anyway!)
"Aw, the best Defense is a strong Offense anyway. Time to put this guy BACK into a hole!" Justin smirks.
The wizard pulls out a tiny knick-knack, and begins a swift series of gestures while chanting. Those close enough to Justin can tell he is wielding a teeny-tiny silver shovel, and his casting gestures do resemble digging,...
With a final dramatic gesture, and a cry of "Gravitus! Expedia!" there is yet another ripple in the stones of the alleyway. And in the blink of an eye, a large hole opens up under the bohemoth-ical sewage monster.
"Have a nice FALL!" Justin cannot help but add gleefully as the sewage monster's extremities all take on a look of surprise as it realizes the ground it was standing on, (Sitting? Who can tell with a giant, animated poo-monster?) is no longer there.
Justin decides that the look of surprise on a Poo-golem is worthy of inclusion in his memoirs. Should he actually LIVE long enough to write them.
Cast CREATE PIT under giant beastie. No Direct damage to it, and no spell resistance, so it's immunities should not be a problem. It DOES get a reflex save to avoid falling in, Reflex is DC: 17 (Here;s hoping it has a sucky reflex save!) ;P
EDIT- at 10th level, the Pit is 50' deep, so the beastie takes 50' falling damage if/when it goes in. :)

Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
A yawning chasm opens up under the grotesque abberation. It sways for a moment, then its base splits into a multitude of pseudopods with a sickening flesh ripping sound. It undulates away from the hole, and each pseudopod manifests a eye and a toothy mouth. Two of the pseudopods whip out, one on Hamar, one on Ramuah
pseudopod on Hamar : 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 183d4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) + 10 = 18

ANNNNNND the digital dice hate me, They really hate me! ;P
Justin's smirk fades as the monstrosity reshapes itself to avoid the yawning pit beneath it.
"Well.,... THAT'S just not fair!" the wizard grumbles petulantly.
Justin opens his mouth to yell further instructions when the beast starts screeching. Justin furrows his brow, then his eyes widen in horror as he realizes what's happening. He slaps his hands to his ears but it is too late. Having thought that the pit would at least distract the beast for a few moments, Justin's mental defenses are caught by surprise and brushed aside like a cobweb by the Aberration's madness-inducing gibbering.
Justin's eyes glaze over and unfocus, he wobbles a bit.
