This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

"Whoa whoa WHOA!!! These guys are a lot more aggressive than the last group! Meaner looking too!" Justin blurts as the ghouls surge forward into the group. Aggressively.

This also has the inconvenient side effect of negating Justin's favorite opening tactic. Darned inconsiderate of them Justin pouts.

Inconvenient, but not impossible. Justin gathers energy and focuses it into flames held in his hands. He glances around and sees that Arnav is currently hardest pressed, but holding his own, but that Merle has one on her. He carefully aims his ball of flame behind the ghoul after Merle, and if it happens to catch one of it's buddies in the blast, that works too!

"Hey! Ugly! The lady says your not her type! BACK OFF!"

Using 'Fiery Burst (Reserve) Feat' power to throw a 5d6 small fireball (5'Radius, DC:21 (Ref) for 1/2 dmg) behind the ghoul attacking Merle. IF it catches any other ghouls in the blast, great, as long as I can keep it away from the friends! :)

Tiny fireball damage: (Ref DC:21 for 1/2 Dmg): 5d5 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 4, 5) + 5 = 23

Eyeballing the scene of chaos before him, Justin again makes a snap decision, for better or worse.

The smell of ozone around Nari had dissipated once they left the laboratory and she went back to her customary spot near the back, quietly following the others. But now there were enemies attacking her friends, and that wasn't to be tolerated. It seemed that Justin was dealing with the one chasing Merle, so she targeted the biggest group instead. Her eyes glowed and the air near her got much warmer as a current of fire whooshed into being, heading for one of the ghouls surrounding Arnav, with some of it you continuing on to a second ghoul.

Arnav shrugs off their blows and watches as Karrin and Hamar sidestep their foes. The dead are falling, and the people are standing. This was a good start and he keeps swinging.

As before he'll start with the most damaged and keep on them until they go down and then move on the the next. If both of his foes go down and he can get another in reach with a 5' step, he will.

Justin's eyes widen as he observes the effect, or rather the LACK of effects, of the various attacks that fly at the negative-cloud-creature.

"Of COURSE it's incorporeal. Why WOULDN'T it be incorporeal?!?" The wizard complains, throwing up his hands.

"Merle! Nari! H@!!, EVERYone! Force attacks if you have them! Blayze! Can you Holy-shot that thing like you did before?!?" Justin calls.

Actually,... you are correct. It should be 5d4+5 (basic spell) +another +5 for the Evocation Wizard power. So 5d4+10. That makes the total above a 21 points of Force dmg. Thanks for catching that Philo! :)

The dark form lets out a blood-curdling moan, and whips another tentacle of dark smoky ectoplasm towards Arnav, to little effect. The combined attacks, both magical and physical seem to be dissapating the dark creature, but oh so slowly.

Blayze fires a bright-shining bullet at the thing, but it just misses. Ekuur's searing light spell also misses.

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

Justin curses himself for preparing a plethora of unusual spells that day, but only having memorized ONE stinking Magical Missiles spell. Currently the only spell in his spellbook capable of never missing a ghost-like creature.

Justin focus his will, and conjures up a tiny star of light in one hand, then hurls it at the cloud creature above. It isn't nearly as effective as a full-powered memorized Missile barrage, but he still nods with grim satisfaction as it leaves a small hole in the cloud when it hits.

Using Force Missile Wiz power, As Magic Missile, but only one bolt sadly. :)

This time, the smoky tendril seems to go deeper within him. He makes an annoyed grunt and contines to strike at it before it does any more to him.
