Merle sense that she may soon have her revenge over the fountain incident.
Wow! You have to go all the way back to page 124 for that reference! A year and a half ago. I only vaguely remembered it :)

Note to all - I will be leaving tomorrow morning to go to Turin, Italy on business. I will be back around mid-day on Thursday (EST); not sure if I will be able to update during that time. Please DMPC me as needed.
No worries Bryan. The battle scene and ramifications should be fnished by then.

I just realised I haven't rolled up any Hit Points for Stheno yet. :/
I can't remember how we were rolling them, so I'm just gonna do it the regular way:
1st Level: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
2nd Level: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
3rd Level: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
4th Level: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
5th Level: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
6th Level: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 = 8
7th Level: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Total = 63
Well that was pretty crap. 3x 2's on d10's (although the other 2x 9's helped)... :(

Sorry to see you go.

*blink*
Checking in. Feeling much more mellow, going to try and untangle the mess I have going in the souk and get this stupid fight resolved. Thanks for the well wishes, and I will try to get some new postings up sooonish.
Kevin:
I come here to relax and play Pathfinder. There is no good way to have RL debates on a gaming messageboard. I am now convinced of it. Most folks can't even manage a civil rules debate.
Cadence |
Hi Cadence!
Thank you for your interest. At the moment, we are full up, but we occasionally have drop outs or the like. If you wish, I can put you on my 'alternate' list, and let you know if a space becomes available.
That would be nice, thank you. I'll keep checking this forum periodically.

Upon greater reflection, I might be able to squeeze another PC in.
Just as a thought- The group should be back in Sigil in about two months (real time). Would you like to pitch a concept? I can insert you either in Sigil, or have you travelling and meet up with the group on Yggdrasil (where they are currently). That is, assuming you wanted to make a Sigil native.
Justin Case |
Oookaaaay,...
(Mother said never trust a monkey that says 'trust me!' But what does she know!?!?) ;P
From his profile, and addendum,...
Justin Case is a tall, thin man who always looks like he is on the verge of being very hungry. And he usually is. He dresses in heavy traveling clothes, as his chosen job tends to be hard on his wardrobe. He avoids the typical wizards' robes as impractical, (Unless he is working in his tiny lab, which is underground and therefore usually cold and clammy. He is convinced that this is the reason Wizards starting wearing robes to begin with.) He normally wears the typical Travelers heavy boots, pants and shirt, all in dark, earthy tones and colors. He almost always wears his long, heavy leather coat with hood, no matter the weather. He keeps his black hair trimmed to shoulder length, and his goatee trimmed neatly. When he thinks about it.
Clothing; (His usual 'work' outfit)
Boots, tall, (knee-high) Black. (Cat's Boots aka Boots of landing)
Pants; Dark brown, earthy tones. usually tucked into boots.
Shirt; Long sleeve w/ collar. Usually rumpled. Lighter tan/beige tones (Light enough to look nice, dark enough to not show dirt TOO easily.)
'Armor'; Long, ankle length black leather overcoat w/ hood. Currently has pinned to it 3 decorations; a small crystal (Armor Crystal; Iron Ward) a small golden charm of an hourglass. (Chronocharm of the Uncaring Archmage). And A larger brooch in the shape of a holy symbol of a god of magic (brooch of Shielding).
Jewelry; Medallion/necklace w/symbol of a god of magic (Bound item), Plain silver ring on left hand (Ring of Shielding), Golden ring with large ruby on right hand (ring of fire), In a magic battle a purple ion stone whizzes around his head.
Weapons; over his clothing, but under his coat, he wears a baldric (from right shoulder to left hip) to hold his sword. Current sword is a magic sword with a skull motif (taken from the dead lady death cleric we fought) He also uses his baldric to hold scrolls and potions in easy reach for battle. (Most of his spell components he keeps in various pockets in his coat.)
Hm. That's pretty good actually. ;P I think that's the clearest I ever described him. (And reviewing his items has reminded me of a few that I had forgotten!) ;P

Karrin's horns have been trimmed and capped with silver, her skin has a slight reddish tinge, and some of her teeth seem slightly longer and sharper then a normal human - especially her canines! This gives her an impish grin. She is slender and slight, not noticeably more muscular then any woman, but her body is deceptively strong. With her hair down and her teeth hidden Karrin could pass as human in the right lighting . . . Unfortunately the girl seems to be perpetually smiling.
Karrin has recently gotten tattoos and piercings in hopes of fitting in with some of the more rough and tumble mercenaries she's come to work with. She has generic black ink tattoos on her biceps (standard pattern, likely a ring of thorns, tribal tattoo, or what ever was popular in Sigal at the time), and her ears have multiple rings in as well.
Karrin usually wears light or medium armour, currently she's sporting a breastplate, and her left hand is covered with a big meaty spiked gauntlet (which no one apart from Eir) has ever seen her take off. I don't think I've ever specified if Karrin has a tail or not but I've always pictured her without out. Her feet are normal human looking feet.
However, when in doubt, imagine a female Hellboy and work with that :D

You're seeing another artist, aren't you Pat?
Oh noes! James Keegan shunned :O
I really loved that picture you started a year or so James, it's a shame that you didn't complete it, but it would be awesome to have a group shot of the silver rose company. We are working on our 4th year of being the best damn game around BTW :)
Patrick Curtin |
Yeah, it would have been cool to finish it. But people had to go get in the way by offering me money to draw other stuff. Maybe when Slumbering Tsar wraps up I'll do my own take.
I have actually been saving a few shekels up and I wanted to see if you were interested in doing your own take some time this fall. However, this picture was comissioned from a certain winged batrachian who needed money to travel to Seattle. I did him a solid, and I figured we could get a group pic.
If you are interested in doing one too James, shoot me a FB msg and we can talk turkey =) I am a patron of the arts, after all
Naridre Ro'Arisahshe |
Nari's description:
I have a drawing of Nari's face, but not a full body shot.
Nari
This was an early concept drawing and doesn't reflect some of the finalized aspects of her appearance. But it does give some clue what her face is supposed to look like. :)
Nari is petite and willowy, on the short side for an elf (at least where she's from, elves are tall there and she's only about five-four) likely due to malnutrition during her early years. She has long silver hair that falls to about the backs of her knees that she usually keeps tied back so as not to interfere with her work. Her eyes are amber colored. Because she has horrific scars on every part of her body except her face and hands she always wears clothing that keeps her fully covered, high necked shirts, long sleeve shirts with tightly tied cuffs, and long pants. Her clothing is very plain, mostly in greys and white, though of good quality. She wears a mithral chain shirt when out adventuring, but it always looks a bit out of place on her. And she carries a shortbow, the only piece of her adventuring equipment she's truly comfortable with. She's extremely shy and insecure and usually tries to make herself as unnoticeable as possible.

From my character sheet (but updated):
Description
Age: 29
Ekuur worships the elemental force of fire, and he looks more like a bronze sculpture than a man. Standing 6' 3" and weighing 222 lbs, he is heavily muscled and broad-shouldered. His body is completely hairless; not because he shaves, but because the constant heat he has dealt with in his life has burnt it off and it no longer grows. His skin is a deep bronze in color, and his eyes are a light amber.
Background
From the moment Ekuur, as a child of only 4 growing up in the city-state of Tyr, focused on an insect and made it burst into flame, he instinctually knew he was destined to serve the power of Fire. At 14, tired of the relentless tyranny of Kalak and his templars, Ekuur left Tyr for the much more hospitable (in his mind) Alluvial Sand Wastes. Amazingly, despite running out of food and water only three days into the wastes, Ekuur found his way to the Temple of Sand and Flame two weeks later healthy and in excellent shape (although perhaps a bit more crazy; but what Athasian cleric isn’t?). The clerics of the temple took this as a sign of Elemental Fire’s acceptance, and he was indoctrinated into the order immediately. Although a haven for contemplation and learning, Ekuur's temple also served as a fortress against the many perils faced by travelers to Tyr. It waxed prosperous as anything could in the endless wastes, using a hidden spring within its walls to make the desert bloom, at least in its immediate vicinity. They taught Ekuur that Fire was the great Cleansing Force; that for life to begin and flourish, old and dead things must first be burned away. They believed that this had essentially already happened to Athas; that defiling magic had burned away the old world, which was trying to be reborn. To them, it was now time for the defilers to be burned away, as their time and function was over – their continued presence delayed the proper course of things.
Eventually, the prosperity of the temple, as well as their campaigns against defilers, drew the dragon. This beast used its horrid Defiler magic to suck the life force from the temple, Ekuur's fellows falling in windrifts as their bodies withered.
The high priest, in terror, unlocked an ancient artifact that had lain under lock and key for millennia. Hoping to reflect the defiling magic against the marauding dragon, he activated it. Ekuur assisted, as one of the few clerics left standing.
Ekuur is unsure of what happened next, but there was a massive flash of energy from the ancient item and a howl of utter pain from the dragon. Ekuur felt as if he was being stretched between two Kanks; then he awoke on the cobbles of Sigil.
At first he was horrified and amazed at the constant rain. For days he was actually ill as his body attempted to cope with the sudden surfeit of water all about him. He tried to get his bearings, and his aimless wanderings finally led him to the Temple District in the Lady's Ward. There he found refuge in a Temple of Elemental Fire, though the rituals were quite foreign to him. They actually worship Kossuth, a proclaimed suzerain of fire elementals, and the temple priests are a collection of bizarre creatures from many distant worlds.
Ekuur has discovered that not many come from Athas. Apparently the sphere it sits in was sealed off from casual planar travel long ago, possibly by the ancient defiling that occurred back when it was a more green world. Whatever happened, Ekuur feels very out of place in the Cage.
One Athasian that Ekuur has become friends (of a sort) with is the mul gladiator known as Grefft. Originally from the city-state of Urik, Grefft has been in the Cage for several years now and works as a simple porter in the Clerk’s Ward. After decades in the arena, Grefft enjoys this quiet, simple profession, and has no desire to come out of ‘retirement’ any time soon. He was the one who taught Ekuur the planar trade language in his first few months in the Cage.
Another acquaintance is the half-giant known as Hatuhuatl. Originally from Draj, Hatuhuatl is a skilled weaponsmith and blacksmith that is now a member of the Godsmen (ironic, since even the concept of gods is foreign to Athas). While Ekuur doesn’t really agree with that faction’s beliefs, Hatuhuatl is likely the only smith in the entire city who is knowledgeable of Athasian weapons.
So far, Ekuur has not joined or associated with any of the various factions. While Hatuhuatl has tried to recruit him at times, Ekuur finds the idea of gods not to his liking; likely a result of his resentment of the templars and sorcerer-kings from his past.
In recent times, after a very close and personal experience with the Sacred Flame on the Elemental Plane of Fire, Ekuur's faith has redoubled. He has begun his own church, dedicated to the Sacred Flame and attracting several followers and acolytes. Founded in a building that was once a temple to a Power of ice and cold, Ekuur is particularly proud as he obtained the building through the strength of his sermons and force of belief, rather than of his trikal.
Ekuur has enjoyed his time with the Company of the Silver Rose as well. His new friends are people he respects and trusts, even if a few he thinks are maybe a little odd or even annoying on occasion. And he still has a hard time understanding Isaac's words at times.
One unexpected situation has been his new acquaitance with a fire giantkin named Sigrid. Running into her at a bar during a mission with his new friends in the Company of the Silver Rose, the friendship has begun blossoming into more, especially after the time spent with her on the Plane of Fire. He has been finding himself missing her a great deal since the beginning of his last mission has kept him away for a while now.
Rhiannon d'Deneith |
Tall, and well muscled for a woman, Rhiannon posseses a warrior's phisique, honed through years of battle. Most often dressed in her armor, a heavy breastplate with armored gauntlets greaves and boots, she presents an imposing figure. In odd contrast to this she prefers to keep her legs compltely bare, an idiosynchrosy from her youth learning to ride and direct her horse with a mere shift of her legs. Long and well formed, this expanse of skin gives hint to the fact that when not in armor she posesses a deceptively feminine figure.
Along the top of her left shoulder working its way down her left breast is an elaborate Birthmark that appears more like a glowing tribal tattoo, the Mark of Protection, her birthrite an a member of House D'eneith.
Her sharp green eyes and blond hair, while not overly short, cut to fit under a helm, complement her tanned skin making her quite beautiful if dangerously so.
Rhiannon

James Keegan |
Old sketch of Isaac, which shouldn't be considered the be all end all; I'd change his boots if I were redrawing him and add in his helper monkey and greatsword. I like the idea of working something into his clothing design as far as his previous incarnations as a kangaroo rat, a swallow and a hound (maybe on those little circles of on his belt, but that may be too fine a detail).
From the alias: Isaac is tall and lithe with brown hair and green eyes. He typically shaves down to a goatee and keeps his hair short. Over his mithral shirt he wears a jerkin and long pants with well-worn boots. Unless it's bad weather, he typically foregoes a cloak or coat. Isaac has a ton of pouches hanging from his belt and pockets from his pack to his pants. The only jewelry he wears is a plain wrought-iron ring.
He'd definitely have a handkerchief somewhere on him, as it's a common Planewalker article for blindfolds/breathing, etc.
And here are some even older sketches of Bethany, Ekuur and Nari.
James Keegan |
Hey James do you still have that picture that you drew that included Karrin? I really like that.
You know, I honestly can't find it anywhere on my computer, Facebook or any other photo sharing site. I'll see if it's in an old sketchbook when I get a chance.

Guy,
Are you talking about the very nice pencil sketch of the 'New Group (When Justin, Bethany etc joined)? Because I'm pretty sure I still have that on my pc at home. (Just have to find the folder I stuffed it into)If so, I could email it to you. NP
Cool, I didn't save that and I'd love to see it again.
