Pai Kromnite
"Does anyone have anything to stop the fire," Pai asks, knowing she didn't have any magics to help with that issue. She could however, make her opponents' lives miserable, and she points at the strangely armored foe dropping from the ceiling, and causing a scream to come from him.
Damage 7d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 5, 4, 1, 5) = 26
Cast Boneshatter. DC 20 Fort save for half damage and to become fatigued instead of exhausted for seven minutes.

ROUND 1:
22 Corbyn
21 Ruperta and Pai
17 Foes!
10 Paxs and Thrak
6 Slumper!
Corbyn flashes into action, sliding past the crimson attacker and slashing hard at him. He grunts with pain, but doesn't go down! Ruperta casts create water, splashing one square and dampening the flames. Pai casts a painful spell at the other assassin! Fort Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 He cries out as well as several loud cracks issue from beneath his armor and his entire form seems to sag as his swords droop!
The exhausted assassin twitches his hands and a red mist explodes in the air around him, covering him in a thin mist of blood. He slashes at Pai! Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 for 1d8 ⇒ 1 damage!
The other assassin at the top of the stairs attacks Ruperta, seeking to stop her from putting out the fire! Assassin 1 37/64
Assassin 2 40/64 (exhausted for 7 minutes)
Paxs, Thrak and Slumper are up!
Ruperta of Hetzau
Just a side note, I think Ruperta, at level 7, can create a bigger volume of water, and disperse it more effectively:
Effect up to 2 gallons of water/level (14 gallons for Ruperta)
This spell generates wholesome, drinkable water, just like clean rain water. Water can be created in an area as small as will actually contain the liquid, or in an area three times as large—possibly creating a downpour or filling many small receptacles. This water disappears after 1 day if not consumed.
Paxs
Paxs sees the flames and immediately summons water elementals to try and counter them.
Summon monster 4, to bring in 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 small water elementals, each has the ability to quench any non-magical flame putting it out
Slumper
I was going to wait until I get home but didn't want to hold everyone up...If someone is within 5 ft will step to them to get full attack if not will only get the first attack

Our Mysterious Benefactor
Ruperta, I concede, but this room has been soaked in alchemist's fire by arsonists who care about their work. Putting it out is a little more difficult than the average fire! Also, burning rooms are more fun for fight scenes!
Thrak disappears as Paxs summons water elementals, who appear and begin to quench flames! They put out three squares, including the one Ruperta stands in, but the ones Slumper and Pai are in remain on fire! Though not for long as Slumper steps from his square to attack the crimson armored man attacking Ruperta! He hits, impaling the man on his rapier and nearly killing him outright!

Corbyn's first slash causes the crimson man to slip to the side, but his second slash catches him in the side, levering into his side with a wet PLOP! The man snarls something unintelligible and falls to his knees, his armor suddenly going slack and falling to the ground as the man's body explodes into a red mist!
Pai's missile strikes the exhausted crimson man, causing him to grunt in pain!
Assassin 1 DEAD!
Assassin 2 33/64 (exhausted for 7 minutes)
Ruperta, then the remaining foe!
Ruperta of Hetzau
Changing Ruperta's action, if the DM allows, and letting an elemental soak Pai
Ruperta channels the blessing of healing of Desna over her companions (and preventing her enemies from being cured).
Her companions heal: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 6) = 11
Our Mysterious Benefactor
Ruperta thinks twice about soaking Pai, then heals her friends. The remaining crimson foe steps five feet toward the window, then throws two daggers at Pai! 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 and 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15. Though both throws are weak, they both hit, dealing 1d4 - 2 + 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 + (1) - 2 = 1 3 damage, since each does a minimum of 1 point!. The fire spreads again, covering much of the second floor!
Assassin 1 DEAD!
Assassin 2 33/64 (exhausted for 7 minutes)
Paxs and Slumper are up!
Slumper
Slumper tries to intercept the fleeing bady.
fyi going out of town for a few days, I will be able to check on here but likely only in evenings

Our Mysterious Benefactor
The elementals continue to quench the flames, but still more seem to be spreading! Paxs sends a glob of acid at the crimson assassin, hitting his armor and causing it to smoke. Slumper steps up and stabs at the assassin with his rapier, puncturing his side and causing blood to flow freely from the man!
Assassin 1 DEAD!
Assassin 2 15/64 (exhausted for 7 minutes)
ROUND 3:
22 Corbyn
21 Ruperta and Pai
17 Foes!
10 Paxs and Thrak
6 Slumper!
Ruperta's hands move as she prays for a miracle from her goddess! The man stiffens Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19, but does not stay stiff as he grunts and moves to attack again!
Corbyn and Pai are up!
Our Mysterious Benefactor
As Corbyn rushes downstairs, he sees the living room is already in flames as well! Pai's arcane missile strikes the crimson man, who stumbles backward and snarls before flinging himself out the window! By the time anyone can rush to see where he's gone, he has disappeared! Meanwhile the second floor is burning faster than the water elementals can keep up with, and it soon becomes clear that the entire house will be engulfed in flames shortly. On the floor lies the discarded armor and weapons of the dead assassin, but no body, and also the metal cask that Corbyn found in the closet.
Out of combat! Anyone can grab the cask or the dead assassin's stuff, and get out without suffering any further burns. If you want to do more searching, you may be in danger of damage!
Pai Kromnite
"Quickly, grab everything you can. The assassin's gear may have clues, and the cask clearly is important...get all that please," Pai directs the others. She runs to the desk and grabs the large ledger she had wanted to glance at earlier.
After grabbing the ledger, she climbs up in the window the other assassin escaped from and hopped out, using her Feather Fall spell to land safely outside, hopefully protecting the book from any additional flames.
Ruperta of Hetzau
Reading the previous posts I see that Ruperta has a potion of lesser restore I didn't write down... Also changing her HP to the current ones.
Is Slumper sick? Hurt? In the downtime between the adventures Ruperta could have try to cure him, by mundane and magical methods. She has the Heal Skill and access to several healing spells, including remove Disease. On a more personal level she will try to move with him. Does he allow her?
Ruperta asks the others to grab the stuff while she surveys the room one last time. She will try to be the last on the way out.
Perception Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Our Mysterious Benefactor
Once outside you have a few moments to watch as the house goes up in flames before neighbors begin shuffling out, tsking and making comments about the state of things in Old Korvosa.
Our Mysterious Benefactor
There are houses here and there that look empty and abandoned. You can easily find one to meet in, clandestinely.
Pai Kromnite
Pai nods to the others at an empty building. She gathers the group into a tight circle and uses her Invisibility Sphere spell, making the group vanish, while they head for the closest building. "Stay with me until we get out of sight. We can check out everything for clues in this building over here."
Our Mysterious Benefactor
Once inside, you sort through the items in the cask first. Inside is a black silk pair of shirt and pants as well as a bag of holding (type I) that contains a black hooded cloak of elvenkind, several black masks, a dozen masterwork daggers with a stylized “B” engraved in their pommels, a black leather suit of +2 slick leather armor, a pair of black leather boots of elvenkind, an amulet of proof against detection and location, a pair of black leather gloves of Dexterity +2 (with two fingers in the right hand containing fake, posable wooden fingers), and an exquisite mithral +2 keen rapier. These items, you remember, comprise the costume of the masked avenger known as Blackjack.
Vencarlo Orsini is Blackjack.
Or he was. You find no evidence of where he's gone now.
The assassin's gear is comprised of +1 leather armor, 2 masterwork sawtooth sabres, 4 daggers, cloak of resistance +1 and a strange mask that resembles the head of a praying mantis.
The ledger reveals nothing more than a fencing academy with a teacher who seemed to live a double life, more absent than present recently.
Ruperta of Hetzau
Perfect! Well, you can now say that Slumper and Ruperta are a couple now. I would like Ruperta to purchase, in previous the time off, a small picture of her to have in a locket and give it to Slumper, so he can hang on his neck or carry on his pocket. How much gold would that be? Besides of the emotional part of it she has an spell that lets her see and talk by means of the picture, to communicate, or in a pinch they can leave it lying somewhere and she can "spy" that way.
"Blackjack! I can't believe it! We must keep it a complete secret, and we must help and protect him at all costs!"
Pai Kromnite
"How neat! We've helped him before," Pai recalls the scene where the group helped create a disturbance while Blackjack saved the innocent girl.
"Now how do we find a way to contact him? Or, were those assassins meant for him....or were they meant for us? Could the Queen have sent them?"
Ruperta of Hetzau
"I am sure the Queen send them... It was his house they were in, and his house they burn down. He is in danger, and we must help him as much as we can. Tomorrow I will be able to try and locate him with the help of Desna, but today we can try by more mundane means. Is there any names or addresses in the ledger of his students? Maybe they can lead us to him. And we must keep his stuff safe, so we can deliver it to him when posible. Also, I can ask the neighbors. "
Slumper
Slumper looks at Corbyn over the haul. "I'm sure Blackjack won't mind us putting this stuff to good use..."
I can use the rapier until we find Blackjack...unless you want to impersonate him Corbyn and take the whole suit
Our Mysterious Benefactor
From outside the house you hear the sound of someone poking around, and evidently either not trying to hide their attempts to do so, or being very poor at any stealthy attempt. Still, they seem to be looking for someone...
Our Mysterious Benefactor
An oddly familiar face is peering into house windows across the small alley from this house. It takes a moment, but you recognize him as the young nobleman, Amin Jalento, who you saved from a mob just after the King' death! You recall that he was a student of Orsini's academy.
Our Mysterious Benefactor
"Ugh-huh!" The young noble manages to grunt out as he's pulled into the house. As soon as he's released, his eyes go wide and he smiles. "Thank the gods! I had heard you were in the area and hoped you could help! I think Master Orsini is in danger and I believe I know where he is!"
