Oh, woh is me! I'm down for the count! Who put a rogue in the front line? I am not a smart rogue....

Maps and Handout

@Denizabyss - the archer has good cover so, I would think the better shot is at the cleric. Also moved you up on the map.

Rolls:

longbow: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 1 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
damage: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 = 8

Denizabyss emerges from the alcove and fires a bolt hitting the cleric. The archer retreats toward the entrance and fires his bow at Crugeon. It's a critical hit piercing the barbarian's neck.

Round 2 Effects active: Inspire Courage and Flagbearer
map

Denizabyss
Archer
Lem 19 dmg - unconscious
Crugeon 11 dmg
Barboo
Swordsmen, red Asleep - 8 dmg
Swordsmen, green Asleep - 4 dmg
Neo Cleric 4 dmg

Lem need a roll to stabilize; Crugeon and Barboo are up

Ah, I had the guys backward. I meant to hit the one with less cover and thought that was the cleric.

You did and it was

Fort +5, Ref +4, Will -1; +2 vs. fear

Crugeon's face turns nearly purple with rage as he sees his fellow halfling go down. His bloodshot eyes flash at the cleric, who can see his own death in those small eyes. Suddenly, a shock of pain flies through his neck and shoulder and he stumbles to one knee in pain. Briefly, the world dims to black, but through the fog of pain and anger, he can still hear Barboo's song of encouragement. As his eyes clear, he sees the banner rippling in the air behind him as a bolt from Denizabyss flies over his head and lodges into the cleric's arm.
With a snarl, Crugeon heaves himself back up on his feet, looks down at the fletching sprouting from the angle of his neck and tears it out, leaving a bleeding wound. His seething anger makes it difficult to see or even make a coherent thought, but his eyes catch sight of the elven archer. Archers shoot arrows. Arrow hurt Crug-on...
Arrow might hurt friends! He screams as he rushes at the elf, scimitar held high for a mighty chop at the elf's midsection

Scimitar: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

I'm at 6 hp. Better take these guys down soon!

LOL so I typed cleric but meant to say Archer. I see how today is going!

Think that means I stabilized and made my dc10 check? Barboo, you've had my wand of cure light wounds tucked in your belt since the beginning if you need it, or take the cleric or archer down, whatever you feel best about. Your wonderful singing helped my wounds to clot and me to have a more peaceful slumber!

Lem stabilizes his wounds, as angry Crugeon finishes the archer with one blow.

Barboo backs up and uses her wand to cure the wounds of Crugeon and Lem.

How dare you wound my friends. You are all monsters.

She continues to sing her song of encouragement and wave the flag.
She hopes her wand will make Crugeon and Lem able to take the rest down with help from Denizabyss!

was I supposed to do a roll for wand? Wasn’t sure.

Grand Lodge

M Human Warpriest

@Barboo, I think you can only do 1 at a time and you need to be adjacent to whoever you are trying to heal. You could either 5' step to Lem and heal him (but not sure if he would become conscious or not) or move next to Crugeon and heal him. At least the cleric is last so if he wakes up one of the swordsmen, they won't attack until next time. I don't think you need to roll for the wand since it is on your spell list but I'll let one of the experts chime in on that. We've had a couple of bad luck rolls of crits on us so hopefully, things will finish quickly. It might be best to heal Lem to keep the cleric from getting critical hits and possibly killing him. At least then he would have some health to fight off any potential hit or better yet, maybe the guy will start to run away!

@Barboo - no roll needed for a wand that casts a spell on your class spell list. Since you need to touch the person to cast that particular spell, Tom is correct that you’ll need to move next to Lem or Crugeon in order to heal them.
So, Free Action to continue bard song/banner. Move Action to pull your wand out (the one Lem gave you to use), Standard Action to cast the spell - roll d8+1. A 5 foot step doesn’t count against your Move Action as long as you don’t actually “move” for the move action.
Hope that makes sense. I was hoping to have done some face to face game time to help with these steps. Oh well. But you are doing great anyway!

PS Heal Lem since he’s closer. Crugeon will be charging the cleric next and doesn’t care if he gets knocked out in the process!

Not sure I totally understand.

Barboo sees Lem in trouble. She moves to Lem and uses her wand to help him.

Cast Spell: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Oh no, that might not have worked. It might be up to Denizabyss.

Silver Crusade

Barboo moves over to Lem and heals him with the wand. Lem's eyes open in a flash of surprise, he's still badly hurt, but conscious once more.

The cleric with his cohorts all down decides to make for the shrine's entrance in retreat.

Archer 13 dmg - down
Lem prone, disabled - 15 dmg
Crugeon 11 dmg

All Pathfinders are up; Lem you are disabled (0 hp), so only either a move or a standard and anything more than a move and you go back down again.

I delay my move.

@Barboo--Great job! I've played a healer for years, never know what is the best thing to do. Thanks for helping, a slightly better roll would have let me stand up and do something but didn't work out. That's the randomness of the game.

Grand Lodge

M Human Warpriest

@Barbool. Good job. I'm still trying to understand many of the rules myself such as diagonal movement. Heh. I counted this turns move several times just to make sure I had it right and looked up on forums to check math as well.

Good job Barboo!

Denizabyss seeing the cleric make a run for it, he moves and can just get within 15' to make the range of Color Spray.

Not so fast! You will answer to the authorities for your actions today!

After making arcane jestures, Denizabyss casts Color Spray [DC 16]

Hopefully, he fails the save so that he is unconscious, stunned, and blinded and can't get any reinforcements.

Having leapt to reach the elf's midsection, Crugeon lands heavily on the fallen archer. Breathing heavy and falling to one knee again due to his critical injury, he peers out through slitted eyes. Barboo's casting and Denizabyss's shouting are dim mumbles on the edge of his mind, although Barboo's magical singing somehow penetrates his thoughts with courage and bravery.
Then he sees a blur pass before him. Hardly recognizing friend from foe, one thought comes to his mind: Got cutter, do hurting... as he scrambles over to intercept the cleric with an upwards swipe of his tiny, but razor sharp blade. The result is likely painful, but mercifully brief.

Nice hit Crugeon! Well, that was a tough fight! Let's get them tied up and get ourselves healed up! Hopefully, we won't have any more surprises today! Barboo, I'm not sure we would have survived that encounter without your encouragement and healing!

Denizabyss goes and ties up the sleeping and unconscious enemies.

Once Lem is healed and back up on his feet.

Heya Lem, would you please inspect my knots to make sure these guys can't get away? Knots are not my forte and mainly used to keep my pants from falling down and shoes on. Haha!

Denizabyss reloads his crossbow just to be prepared and takes a look outside just to make sure nobody else is coming to help these guys.

Well, should we get the authorities to take care of these guys and get the information to VC Dreng? Should we interrogate these guys someplace more secure to find out who wants this information and has been following us? Someone definitely seems to think the information we found is important.

Maps and Handout

The cleric has two scrolls one of Cure Light Wounds and one of Doom. The other men have a total of 5 potions of Cure Light Wounds. So other than the wand charge used in combat, we can say you used the found items to heal everyone up, no need to use up more charges. The rest of there gear is mundane.

You turn the offenders over the local authorities, who are very curious about why a battle has occurred in the Shrine of the Failed. But with the other news of the day, they don't ask too many questions. You are able to find out that the other group are from Devil’s Claw Company. A group of Chelish mercenaries composed primarily of those who failed to become Hellknights. The three that survived tell a story that the man who died was there boss and had a bone to pick with the Pathfinder Society for some sort of slight that occurred in Cheliax. The story seems to have a lot of holes, but the Absalom guard seem happy to close the matter as quickly as possible.

The other news of the day you find out pretty quickly, as the big crowd has disbanded. You talk to a few locals who are still horrified following Sir Reinhart’s attempt to vault the chasm on horseback, which ended with a fall into oblivion.

Drandle Dreng is overjoyed and sits back in his office chair, taking drinks alternately from a hot cup of tea and a small flask. If asked he says, the key is Don't mix the two before it reaches the stomach. As you complete your story and show off your find he grins from ear to ear.

You've done fine work here, fine work Pathfinders. Thank you for bringing all this to light. And to think that secret alcove has been under the Wisp all this time, guess it was lucky I had a taste for some rare wine. The telling grin gets even bigger. I predict great things from you lot.

Several days later, you receive a missive summarizing some of the Society’s initial findings.

Missive

It refers to a higher level adventure from last season.

A job well done congrats Pathfinders!

Grand Lodge

Male Halfling Barbarian (Unchained, Invulnerable Rager) 1 / hp 15 / AC 17, touch 14, flat-footed 14 / CMD 16 / Init +3 /

 / Perception -2 / Speed 30 -- While raging: AC 15/12/12; hp 17; CMD 14; Will +1

After the fight is concluded, Crugeon collapses in exhaustion. After a few potions and Barboo's reading of the healing scroll his energy is back to normal, but it isn't until he sees that all his new friends are safe and healthy (especially the downed Lem) that his vitality is fully restored. He beams at the 3 others and proudly states, Got cutter. DID hurting!

Upon hearing that the missive was from none other than Venture Captain Valsin, Crugeon is shocked at being personally addressed by such a mighty warrior. He gives each of his new friends a very tight hug and Denizabyss is likely surprised as Crugeon leaps into the air in order to reach up to his waist for a big squeeze (Ow! You'll probably feel that in the morning!). After listening to the others recount the adventure, he heads off to the Wounded Wisp for more stories...at least until the next adventure where he can again be part of the story!

Great job everyone! Especially Tom and Mom for their first PbP and my mom's first PFS adventure!! I'm assuming chronicle sheets will be forthcoming? In which case, I'll help my mom with the details on that and applying the XP/PP/gold. Hopefully we can get these characters together again sometime! Thanks David for a fun adventure and for the work you put in to GM'ing. Greatly appreciated!! :)
