This is the part of the game I love the most. Moral ambiguity time. I will say there isn't really a necessarily 'correct' option here, nor is there one that will doom you. You have to decide on how you want to do things. Now a lot of you have really useful cookies that I gave you for just such events if you need a nudge or a clue.

Though the clues may just lead to more indecision. Muhahahahah

Ok well something came up. That original group of Carrion Crown kinda imploded and now they are out a GM. I want to try and adsorb the players because loosing a game sucks.

I have to ask two favors

#1 is taking on new players. Though we have some inactive, this would still bump us up quite a bit.

#2 In order to do it quickly I may ask to rail-rode you a bit. The current situation you are in can be done whatever way you want. You could allower her to take you in, let her take you in but on the way try to capture the "Beast", you could kill her, mame her so badly it would take a long time to heal, aputate limbs, lock her in a cave with enough food and water. Pretty much anything you demented people can think of. But in order to make this happen I may ask that you lean to a particular option, would that be OK?

#2 Doon is kinda squemish in terms of just killing her. Maiming her is distasteful so Doon will lean to getting her to follow us instead as we try to capture the "Beast" in order to get the warrant rescinded.

I have no issue in rail roading as long as it makes sense or drop us hints that nothing more can be done here or if we're taking too long. We;ll move on since it's a PbF game.

I'm okay with adding more players, big groups are a good thing IMHO.

As for what to do to Le'Rose, Izorshi isn't against killing her, but won't go against what the rest of the group decides.

Gerald, despite his cowardice, might have actually fought on Le'Rose's side if the group had continued attacking after she was rendered incapable of fighting.

So getting her to help acquitting us is what Gerald was pushing for.


Awesome, that is the path I would nudge you and and it is the one the current dialog is leading to but don't ever be afraid to try and steer the story.

If you go somewhere I did not expect I will just have to accommodate and leave out hooks in case you want to get back to where the adventure says you should about be. In fact I have planned ahead to give you cookies that can do just that.

-Geralds shadow teleport powers may eventually allow the entire party to traverse land quickly by passing through a shadowy (and possibly insanity inducing) world.

-Nagual can see the ghosts of the recently dead and hold onto them, allowing important NPC's to die and not kill the quest.

-Belor has his shield which can give him pleasant nudges to what the "proper" path for him is, though it will be cryptic like any fortune.

-And finally, depending on what cookie Doon chose he will be able to make incredible deductions, allowing him to piece things together through lore and logic.

With all of these as safety nets you should feel confident in exploring your space in the game.

If I constantly drive you guys into corners then I may as well be writing just for myself. The game is for your fun... though I have fun too, just in other, more evil, ways.

Feel free to chew the scene for a bit. I have a lot of reading to do with folding the others in. Originally I only needed the bare outline to plan all of my home-brew stuff around but now it's going to get a lot more bookish.

In a way it makes it better for you because I will have my tricks as well as ready made stuff from the adventure.

Well, my preference is usually for organic campaigns over pre-generated published ones, but whatever ya have to do to merge the groups successfully is something I'm okay with.

In terms of making it more organic I will leave the options to you. I can assume that you all have been in enough games to see hooks. Rather then grabbing onto them you could just get the hint of the direction they lead and bypass them.

Example:

You are told of bandits (It's always bandits) in the area who have raided local villages killing the militias and stealing the food, and are given their location. You are given a map of the area with obvious points where you can set up an ambush. You are also given an uniform worn by the bandit taken from a corpse.

Inside the box ideas, these are things you will ether assume from previous play experience or though knowledge checks.

-Set up an ambush in the woods
-Lay in wait in the next village they attack
-If the map shows a river then that probably is their water source so poison it.
-Use the disguise to sneak in and poison/assassinate the leader.
-Negotiate with them

or... You could go further outside the box, like.
-Can we set up a controlled burn of the forest to drive them out?
-Can we disrupt the local wildlife to cause them trouble? Like causing a stampede.
-Sneak in under disguise to figure out why they are doing what they are doing.
-Sneak in and kidnap someone you know is important to the bandit leader, which is much easier then trying to outright kill him.
-Instead of poisoning the river, create a make-shift dam to redirect it, ether into the bandit camp or away from them taking away their water.

If you have a crazy idea just ask.

Mine would probably start by burrowing between and underground lake/reservoir and the bandit leader's hut creating a geyser, driving the bandit leader out into some really deep pit traps, where they are waiting at the bottom.


My players once gutted a hydra for its sacks of flame duel to tie to ballista shot and fired at an evil cleric. The cleric was using powerword break to destroy round being fired, we he did so with the hydra blatter it ignited the whole thing bathing him in flame. That cleric was 6 levels higher then the PC's and they melted him in one round

So I got sick.

The first sign you’re in trouble is when you visit the doctor’s office and the last thing they say to you before you leave is “We’ve called the hospital and they’re expecting you”.

The second sign is when the doctors at the first hospital transfer you to the second hospital because the specialist they would normally have you see has gone home for the day and they say “We don’t think waiting until he gets back in the morning is a good idea.”

The third sign comes when you realize that it hasn’t even been 24 hours since you visited you doctor’s office and they’re taking you into surgery.

The panic sets in after the surgery. Strangely enough it is when they say “You’re so lucky you went to the doctor when you did. We caught this early enough you’ll get to keep your leg” you realize that it could have killed you.

The funny thing is I didn’t go to the doctor because of the fever or the pain in my ankle, in fact I almost didn’t mention it. It was just my regularly scheduled visit because of my high blood pressure, but my doctor saw me limping, and he dragged the whole story out of me. How everybody got a cold and then got better, except for me. How whenever I stopped taking ibuprofen the fever came back. How I had twisted my ankle the week before. Turns out everyone else in my family probably had just a cold. I didn’t.

An antibiotic resistant bacterial infection was lurking in my system but it wasn’t strong enough to effect my mostly healthy organs. Then, I hurt my ankle and it attacked, setting up shop in my bone and started pumping out all sorts of nasty stuff into the rest of my body. The surgeons went in and cut it out. I spent about a week in the hospital and have at least a month or so of recovery ahead of me. I’ve managed to avoid the at home IV antibiotics, by taking massive doses in pill form of a powerful antibiotic that doctors weren’t sure would even work, but it did.

I’ve been at home for a few days now and I can’t say for sure when I’ll be up to posting regularly. I’ve been feeling guilty about not posting but I haven’t been feeling up to trying to post a coherent message from my tablet either. I’ve finally grabbed my daughter’s laptop and typed this up. I’m just not sure how long it’s going to be before I get back into the swing of things.

If I’m a player in your game I’m sorry. If it makes sense please run my pc as it makes sense. For those of you who I’m the game master … well it’s going to be a few more days.


My dad got sick... Without insurance... In Navada. Now I'm fighting tooth and nail not to have him released from the hospital before he is well. They just want to get him out.

The worst has happened. The event that I've being dreading has occured. I'll be unable to post as I deal with the loss of family, namely my mother. I'm sorry for the lack of posting lately and truly am sorry for springing this upon all of you.
