Nexus searched desperately through the open lockers, hoping there might be something he had somehow missed. In all the other lockers, there was nothing more to be found. In his desperation he pulled out all eleven of the uniforms that had been stuffed together checking for bulges or lumps near any of the pockets that might reveal a hidden radio.

While he did find a small number of items; a deck of playing cards, three name tags, a surgeons mask, a pocket knife, and an engraved zippo lighter, he did not find the radio.

The only remaining option was the one he didn't want.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Hmmm.... so the radio is in the locked locker....

Nexus began to pace back and forth between the lockers, scratching his chin and his head as he ran over his options again and again. If I open the locker... Hmmm... HOW would I open the locker?

Nexus continued mumbling to himself, back and forth he paced over and over again. Well... when there is only one option left. Hmm. An assessment needs to be made. What do I know?

Nexus began to think out loud again Steel doors, empty pods, clothes, zippo lighter, cards, pocket knife. What do I know? I know there's water leaking under the door for some reason. I know this room is cold for yet another reason. The ship is low on power, and even if I open those doors I will still need to find a way to communicate with them. But I also know that that smell is, unfortunately, what I think it is. Never mind how it got in there....

Nexus really, really hated this trip. On the bright side, maybe THIS one has the space manual I can read over. If not... Well... Perhaps more clues as to what the hell happened here.

Nexus walked straight up to the locked locker with a self-mocking shrug Alright you son of a b+#%!, my assessment has been made- White Queen to A5.

Xander:
Inside the other two lockers, Xander had found a well worn and lightly faded black leather jacket. It had a pair of patched up holes on the inside and from the looks of it Xander would have pegged those as bullet holes. Inside one of the pockets had been an name tag, it read: James Woods, Level 2 security clearance, Military police. The last locker he had checked out had strangely been devoid of any contents.

Unsure if anyone had been on the other end of his radio call, Xander holstered it for the moment and floated across the room to a terminal next to a door.

The screen was dark but as he interacted with it, it sprang to life with a short loading bar. A short while later it had finished loading and on an otherwise all black screen, in plain white text it read:

Enter Password:
> ...

Init +2 | AC16/TA12/FF14 | HP8/8 | F+0/R+4/W+3 |Darkvision 60' | PP 7/7 | Per +5 Psionic Android Pison [Telepath] L1 / Investigator L1

Her head is intact she is fine, but someone was not.
She looked around for any kind of medical notes.

As Marco entered in his answer, an interesting thing occurred.

The screen went dark as predicted but when it came back up, he was looking at a very detailed map of overlying star charts. There were translucent orange colored rings noting the rotations of distant planets, named stars, and other galaxies but unfortunately, most of it didn't have any real meaning or make any real sense to him.

He eventually realized that there was a slightly different colored marker off in a fairly barren corner of the map. It showed the I.D. of the ship. But before he was able to interact with it in any real way, the screen shorted out for a second and a block of dark red text appeared on the screen.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes. No."

Nexus was determined to get this locker opened. He took a few warm up breaths before he moved up to it and began to work at opening it. Despite his reluctance from the horrific smell, he found that he opened it up without much in the way of inconvenience. He braced himself and opened the locker.

Gore was splattered all around the inside of the locker. Something dark and fetid lay heaped in the bottom of the locker, a thick blood splattered piece of cloth lay on top.

Nexus wanted to throw up but he managed to hold it together. He saw hanging on a hook on the right side of the locker was in fact a radio that was only marginally covered with blood splatter.

Male Human Rogue/3

'Ready for what?" Marco mumbled to himself. He studied the terminal for a little while contemplating his response. Images flashed in his head of the ship suddenly exploding or the place being swarmed by space pirates. One slightly amusing thought popped into Marco's head of all the power coming on and a bunch of crew members popping out of various places shouting "Surprise!" Marco shook himself mentally to regain focus. Part of him considered just walking away, but he was curious. Curious enough to take the risk of highlighting Yes and selecting it.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Oh thats- Even in his mind, Nexus dry heaved-

F$*@. Alright, ok- Nexus picked up one of the other space suits and used it as a cloth to grab the radio and snatch it from the locker Disgusting disgusting disgusting.

Using the space suit to then close the locker shut again, he finished wiping off the radio with the shirt and simply breathed heavily for a moment- That's right. Five breaths in. Hold it. Now one slow breath out. There you go. Again. Five breaths in. Hold it. One breath out.

Nexus regained his composure as he began to pace again What... The hell... Would do that.

But this time no real answer came. Nexus scratched his chin, his head, his neck- he had absolutely no clue what would have done that.

Animals? Murder?

Nexus imagined a gang of space pirates throwing
someone who couldn't escape the ship in time into the locker with a grenade- but he didn't remember seeing any sort of explosion markings. After all if they had done that- wouldn't the lockers be misaligned, their doors not shutting, and crooked?

Well... this WAS the only locker that was shut, but... nah. No. No I have no clue. Oh well.

Time was wasting- the ship HAD shaken after all. And he still needed to decide what to do with the radio- could he trust the people who had radioed over it? He had no clue that it wasn't the people that committed the gore.

... A test. I need to create a test. A way to not give away my location or person, but to make them tell me who they are.

For that plan it seemed the steel doors being closed may have been the better option, but he still wanted to see if he could find a way to open them, just in case.

Moving back to the steel doors, he now looked for a switch or console that may command the doors directly, or a way to push them open from his side as he turned on the mike and said

Hoosier, Ellie, Lewis, Peter. I repeat, come in; Hoosier, Ellie, Lewis, Peter. Sally, Owen, Susie repeat Sally, Owen, Susie.

If they knew what he was doing, well- he was guessing not that many people who weren't military would understand what he was saying. Pirates would come running, others- We'll see then. Now for the doors-

Perception: 1d20 + 9 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 4 + 1 = 29

He doesn't want to hit any trap switches, death switches, and wants to make sure nothing interesting is rigged to the door via "Pirates"

Xander's radio sprang to life with a crackling sound and a male voice uttering a list of names.

"Hoosier, Ellie, Lewis, Peter. I repeat, come in; Hoosier, Ellie, Lewis, Peter. Sally, Owen, Susie repeat Sally, Owen, Susie."

Bluff/Secret message: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Before he had even heard the repeat, Xander understood perfectly what the man on the other end meant. HELP! SOS! The voice sounded calm and controlled despite the call for help. But it definitely meant that somebody else was, in fact, alive on this ship.

Calista took another look around the room and found there were no other obvious pieces of paper floating about. The blinking terminal, however, was an obvious place to start.

She floated over to it and found the terminal was in fact active already.
Intuition: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 21
A strange sensation flowed over her. She somehow instinctively knew that this wasn't the way to help her understand what was going on here. It felt like she might be leaving the area.

Calista:

Behind you... those private rooms? came the small thought popping into her head.

Human

Xander slipped on the leather jacket, over the other clothing and floated there for a second, staring at the name tag. "Thanks Jimmy!" He moved to the pool of floating red liquid and began to try catch it in the empty water bottle, without touching it. He took his time, got as much as he could, before floating over to the panel.

As he waited for the panel to spin to life, a message came back over the radio. He paused, listening for a second, before frowning.

As the Password prompt popped up on the screen, Xander pulled the radio from his belt and clicked the broadcast button. "That's a colourful message you sending out there. I'm reading you. Everything is FUBAR, that's for sure..." He typed as he spoke, entering the words 'James Woods', before hitting enter. "Status in your quadrant? Got power? Gravity? Lights? Know a location? Over."

The terminal in front of Marco went dark again and came back on with a final message.

"Security system override. Unlocking Doors."

A moment later the doors in front of Marco slid open. A long hallway stretched in the darkness before him. His pen light was not strong enough to penetrate it beyond twenty or so feet. Past that point, it was nothing but a wall of darkness.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

The man on the other end sounded calm. Collected, laughing almost.

Nexus sighed- he really wished he knew other ways to determine who really was on the other end of the mike. Speaking into the mike one more time he said Let's not do that now- you don't know who I am, I don't know who you are. No description of the rooms- I don't want to know what you are doing, either. I do have a few questions, though. What... are you doing on this ship? Everyone else is gone- why didn't you escape?

This place is really only giving me one option at a time- normally I have a plentitude of options, of moves, or calculations. Assessment, move, assessment, move. But this door doesn't appear to have a way for me to open it, and I know nothing about ships or space travel. This mike is my only shot... For now.

Xander carefully floated through the air and caught the red liquid in the bottle. It was a strange consistency, definitely denser than water, when he put bottle to it and "punctured" a hole into it, it was like watching a syringe pull out liquid, it quickly flowed into the bottle. He was able to fill most of the bottle and once he had it inside he was finally able to get a smell off it. Oil.

As he typed the name into the terminal, the screen clicked over and it came up with the gratifying text of:

"Access Granted... Unlocking Doors."

After a moment, there was a hushed sliding sound as the door before him slid open into an adjacent room. From where he floated he could see the room was much smaller than the one he was in but had the same red glow of emergency power, although this one had lights around the bottom of the room.

Off to his right and left were a pair of doors. Across the room he could see some sort of strange looking table that gave off a dim glow of its own.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

No no no no no no no no NO YOU FOOLS! I WANT MY DOOR TO REMAIN CLOSED LOLOLOL

The terminal before Nexus fired to life with the text reading:

"Security system override. Access Granted."

The steel doors creaked open with a sudden rush of water spilling out at Nexus just above knee height. Overrun: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

It was sudden enough that he didn't have time to really get out of the way, but thanks to the doors opening slowly, it wasn't enough to knock him down. The water quickly spilled out into the room and began to fill up the rest of the area.

Nexus could now see the room beyond was a shower room. From the shadowy light spilling in from the room he was in, he could see several of the immediate shower heads were turned on full blast, and he was sure he could hear more in the darkness. The reverberating echoes, now that the door was open, reminded him of the sounds of a waterfall.

Xander stared through the door a minute before replying. "Look, I don't know you and you don't know me, but you sound nervous and buddy I'm gonna level with you... I'm not too sure of anything right now. I woke up from stasis there a few minutes ago and the whole thing was f$@~ed. You don't gotta trust me but let's work together. There has to be an escape pod deck or something. We don't gotta share where we are but how about we agree to share the location of the escape pods, if we find em?"

He took a second to look around, before floating in to the smaller room.

Perception1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

He glanced to make sure the doors were still closed, before floating towards the table giving off light.

"Look, I'm gonna call you Marco, I'll be Polo. Let's not search for each other but let's co-operate okay? I don't wanna die in the vacumn of space here Marco!"

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Are you f+~+ing kidding me with this?

Nexus would pace if there wasn't so much water on the ground Well, looks like I was right about the flooding... but why are all the shower heads on like that? Nexus then thought of the empty clothes once more, and the open lockers They... weren't fleeing... They were getting ready for a shower after Cryo Sleep?

This made no sense what so ever- if it wasn't pirates, and it wasn't the Captain, just what the hell was going on? Nexus cursed- he was unsure of what to do about the showers, as he sort of enjoyed the sound.

If it wasn't causing a flood, that is. Nexus sighed angrily and heavily Like I said, this b#+!* of a ship is forcing me to only think one step at a time. Pool. Ha ha. How ironic that he chose that as his name.

Nexus spoke back into the mike Well to be honest I thought you were pirates, but seeing my situation I don't know what the hell is going on and frankly I'd kind of welcome a bullet to the head now. I'm Nexus, Nexus Alexander. Forget the names, listen- I'm in the showers. I don't know what quadrant. The showers attach directly to some cryo sleep pods I'm guessing this is a dorm of some sort on the ship. You know anything about ships? you have any control panels at all?.... I kinda liked when my door was closed, and I'm not sure why the security systems activated. I've got low, low ass power. Red lights, which I'm guessing means code red. I've got a mike, a locker filled with gore s++@ that I'm not touching again, and my area is flooding. I need to shut off the shower heads, so here's what I'm going to do- After every shower head I shut off, I'm going to confirm over the mike I shut it off. You repeat back so we both know we're ok, alright?

Didn't sense motive cause he's got no choice but to cooperate since some A$$%%+~S OPENED THE DOORS OH GOD WE ARE GOING TO DIE-HI-HIEEE lol

Male Human Rogue/3

Marco stared ahead eyes straining to see as much as he could beyond the light shown by the pen. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Perception. Then slowly he started to make his way down the corridor as quietly as he could. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 Stealth. Marco's heart rate was normal, his hand holding the penlight steady. It was just the dark after all...

Human

Xander grinned, resting his hands on the table, but paying attention to the conversation. "I'm Xander Nivore, a pleasure to be stuck in the s@#@ with you Nexus. The security doors opening might have been me. I'm in Security I think, I just found a name tag that sad I was anyway. We can't stay put though, the doors had to open. Okay so the fact you said you were flooding means you gotta have Gravity right? Way ahead of me there. I'm bobbing around like... Well you will be when the water rises, only I aint got no water. I'm looking at a panel now. I can try work it out as you shut them off. Lets hope we aint the only two crew left. I don't know how to fly this thing and I doubt you do either! Over"

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 I'm just looking for where the first shower head and how to shut it off is, though if it is too foreign I suppose I can roll disable device

Nexus spoke back into the mike You know I think I'm a little bit more ok with dying now that I have a mike. I'm glad I didn't drop it when that water rushed in- this is a problem. It makes no sense that it is flooding- after all, the drains in the shower room should be draining it. Sorry, am I talking too much? I tend to do that- especially when I have no f$*+ing game plan. I'm usually a man with the plan, you know?

Ok shut up and think on what he said for a second. He's got... No gravity? How the hell is THAT possible? Just what is going on in this ship? He's in security- I wonder if they have pressure read outs in that control room. Or...

Hey, Xander- you got any security footage up there in security then?

Human

When Nexus mentioned the drains, Xander swore sharply, turning his back on the table and watching the pair of doors. "I dunno about footage, literally all the first panel did was open the doors. I'll look for footage but ahm... Nexus, I gotta mention this, if you found slaughtered remains in the lockers, whatta'ya think is blocking the drains...?" He let the line die and the implication hang in the air between them.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Nexus will need a smell description from his perception roll before commenting back to Xander- Sorry Xander! LMAO

Human

Yeah I am working fast and loose on a lot of things myself, waiting for more info is cool.

As the duration of Far Hand is only 1 minute, I'm going to say that it's going to take you 2 uses to effectively search all 4 rooms.

Following her intuition, Calista floated her way back to the other side of the room and sent Hexqin to investigate the rooms.

??? 03: 1d100 ⇒ 79 Again the faint and quickly dissipating feeling of a pulse.

Room 1:
It appears to just be recovery room. Four beds lay bolted to the floor, their blankets, pillows, heart monitoring machines and other life line status equipment float around, suspended in the air.

Room 2:
Another recovery room. Inside there were four more recovery beds, pillows, life line equipment, but also a black bag floated about stuck under one of the beds. Inside were 5 packaged syringes, 3 vials of morphine, 2 others labeled sedatives, 2 bottles of aspirin, several bags of fluid I.V. drips, 5 bags of distilled plasma, and packets of blood each blood type. AB+, AB-, A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-. All of this would have added up to a veritable fortune if sold on the open market.

??? 04: 1d100 ⇒ 45 Pulse.

Room 3:
This to be a break room. A small table sat off to one side, the air was full of coffee mugs, chairs, stacks of paper cups, a water tank floated on its side still more than half full. A few packets of crackers, and several canned fruits also floated around the room, as Calista perceived them she noted how hungry she was beginning to feel.

Room 4:
The final room was a simple office. Loose papers from an open filing cabinet floated about the room. A computer hung in place, not far from the desk from it's power cables. She also noted a voice recorder off to one side. A display monitor was cracked, off on the left side of the wall in the room.

From behind her she also heard the double doors slide open.

As Nexus slogged his way through the water to the first shower nozzle, he noted there were at least two other doors in the room. One going off to the north and another west of his location. Both doors were only partially open and water was quickly flowing out through them. He got to the first nozzle and found that they only required a solid turn to make them come on or shut off. The strange thing was that they were all turned on at full blast.

He noted how humid the air was in here and was lucky, he supposed, that whatever hot water they had probably had was all gone by now, replaced instead by icy cold water. There was a slight metallic scent in the air but otherwise it smelled a hundred times better than it did in the other room. The water was still deep enough and there was enough momentum from the other faucets that he couldn't make out the drains clearly, in the dim-red lighting.

He moved over to the next nozzle to shut it off. The water was draining pretty quickly now but even without the extra water coming in, he expected it to take at least ten minutes for all this to flow out into the other rooms.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Nexus grunted as he turned off the second shower head How many are there in this room as far as Nexus can see, GM?

Over the mike he continued to grunt as he worked his way to the next one Shower Head 1 and 2 shut off, play back for me Xander.

Human

"Still reading you Nexus. Just keep moving. I've got my back in a corner here. Get to somewhere safe and I'll see about finding some recordings or a map!"

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Nexus took another glance at the partially opened doors were, over the mike he commented Alright I've got a door to my north, and to my west, from the showers, with a cryo sleep room to my back. Looks like the flooding hazard is done, but I'm hesistent to explore. You have any idea why people would just disappear from the showers? They didn't even bother to take their clothes. Moving on to Shower Head 3.

Human

"Bulk head breach and imminent decompression? Some drive torsion and the ship was going to split apart? Maybe the old fables are true and the rapture happened and we were the only sinners aboard!" Xander shrugged before realizing Nexus couldn't see him.

"To be honest I have no idea. I assume it was bad, bad enough that it is knocking out systems all over the ship. We need to find a central control, see what is up!"

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Doesn't seem like they had much in the ship to work with outside of wherever the command bridge is. Damn.

Shutting off shower head 3. Hopefully there aren't too many of these left- what a pain to clean up someone else's mess. Xander- you know much about ships or engineering at all?

Human

"Know a bit about Engineering but nothing directly linked to ships. I'll fake it till I understand it though. At least till we can get the hell out of here!" He grinned, pulling the toolkit out and beginning to examine it, cataloging the tools there mentally.

If it works she will plug in the terminal and see if she can get it to work.

Nexus:
It is a communal bath chamber in the first room you are in. There are 6 shower heads in total in the room that you can see. You also note there are two open door ways into the east and you suspect they lead into other communal shower areas given the sounds of more running water he could hear coming from them.

After collecting everything she thought would be immediately useful, Calista entered into a trance where she is able to mentally alter her body’s chemistry in order to maximize her potential energy intake and minimize energy output. There were perhaps only a small handful of people in the entire world who were this in tune with their bodies but luckily for her, she was one of them. It was mentally taxing to her but often times, it was well worth the effort.

She floated back to the chamber and grabbed the voice recorder before rifling through a desk drawer to find a pen. She found one attached to a clipboard and there were a number of pieces of paper floating all over the room. She took the voice recorder and powered it on.

There was a list of options.
Record
Files 1-4
Delete
Her curiosity getting the better of her, she immediately tried to listen to the recorded files.
Test files one… This is first the recording of Doctor Ooowennn Braaadssshawww… the voice suddenly became slow and distorted before stopping completely.

Looking down at the small screen, she could see it read ” File corrupted”

She noted the recorder had a section where she could attach it into a computers hard drive. It was certainly possible she could get the file read on a more powerful processor.

She sat down and began to focus on repairing the monitor.

After your short talk with Nexus, it dawns on you that you are leaning on some sort of 3-d imaging table. Unfortunately it has no real power running through it at the moment.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 Turning away from the table, you notice the specks of blood on the floor. It was extremely difficult to notice in the lighting but the darker spots on the floor head to the door on the right.

Marco:

You float slowly down the darkened hallway, after about 50 feet your pen light seems seems to be the only thing holding back a never ending wall of blackness coming to devour you from either side. The walls of steel offering no hope of escape. Your breathing becomes noticeably more labored as your throat tightens and the sense of being hunted by a something unknown becomes tangible and you can almost feel its devouring presence right behind you!

Make a Will save.

Male Human Rogue/ 3

Shutting off Shower Heads 4 and 5. Confirm for me there Xander.

Great, MORE shower heads? Seriously- what the hell is going on here? There is no way this many people fled, naked, to escape pods. So what happened?

For a few seconds Nexus imagined a space orgy in some sort of awkwardly shaped and large escape pod. He chuckled to himself a little bit as he awaited Xander's confirmation Easy Nexus- no need to get distracted and start singing again. Not yet.

she worked on the screen, psiokentics was hard, shifting matter around meant hard concentration.

A flash, an image of a class room, 8 of them sitting around, looking at a 50 something man. He had a thick Russian assent

"Nuw, class, Energy it is matter an matter it is Energy, today class we will be founding our focuses, and shift one to other, Da?."

She stopped with a jolt, where was that, her past? She just could not remember, a feeling
They had been Chosen, chosen for the tests
But what tests, where was that. She hated the fact it would not come.

She had a pain in her head, something deep inside, throbbing.
She cut off the pain... she could cut off the pain, she let it back in, again throbbing, then gone again with a thought. It was... it was.
She could feel the knowledge just out of reach but try as she might it just moved away. 8 of them, there had been 8, Ann, San.. sann no it would not come, but why did she know them, why was she there.

She went back to the Screen, she had a feeling it was important. Something was living close so close she could feel its Pulse, something..

Gritting his teeth, Marco forced himself to relax his throat and take a deep, calming breath before shining the light behind him. There was still a wall of blackness but somehow it didn't seem quite so imposing as it had before. He continued along the tunnel another 50 feet, until he came to an intersection. A pair of name plates with arrows pointing in both directions gave him an idea of where he was.

<--Sub station : Engineering-->

On his right, just at the edge of his pen light was another heavy set steel door. It was of an older design, a wheel shaped hand crank seemed used for opening and closing the door.

On his left, there was a lighter sliding door. On its right side was a small blue glowing card reader.

Xander took a few deep breaths to calm himself down and as quietly as he could he moved over the door to follow the blood trail. The door must have had a motion detector because when he crossed over to it, it slid open automatically. The small card reader, he noted, read:

"Security system override. Access granted."

From the doorway he could hear the low, humming sound of a machine constantly running from somewhere in the back. This room like all the others had only the emergency power lights, but strangely the lights covered only the front half of the room. The room itself was divided ahead twenty feet in the middle by a strange metal gate. It reminded him of a chain link fence, except he could tell from the straightness of the metal, it was a lot stronger stronger and would have no give. There was also a metal door which stood in the middle of the fence to allow access, it also had a card reader.

Two things stood out immediately to Xander. First, directly ahead, there was a white lab coat stuffed partway through the gate. Secondly, he saw the blood droplets suddenly become a smear on the ground, ten feet in front of the door. Whoever it was had been dragged through the metal gate and into the back of the room, where it was too dark to see.

Nexus contented himself with thoughts of his academy days to try and ease the situation at hand as he finished turning off the last of the front room shower heads. He then slogged his way through the water to the next area, around the corner. It was another communal shower room, with six more shower heads. After he had turned off half of the rooms water supply he spotted something. Miraculously a bar of soap, and even a small bottle of shampoo had somehow managed to stay safe from the constant spray of water. Someone had been thoughtful enough to place them on a top shelf area out of the immediate spray of water.

He enjoyed the sound of the remaining spraying water, it reminded him of a calmer waterfall. It was perfect. Almost... he'd have preferred there to be ladies present, and maybe if the water had been just a little bit warmer, but it wouldn't do to stay dirty anyway. This wasn't even his uniform, and it was already wet up to the knees. Besides, he'd been in cryo sleep for who know how long. after all the bad things that had happened to him, he could use something to just wash away his fears.

The man who claimed to be Xander over the radio had decided to call for radio silence, after all. So Nexus didn't really have anything else to do at the moment.

Nexus roll me a Will Save, and a perception roll

Doctor Calista, had completed her focus on the task at hand, long silent moments of intense concentration such as those, often left her with more time to sit and recall distant details of her past.

Her efforts allowed her an unusually high degree of control over her bodies energies. It allowed her to bend molecules and speed up the natural flows of energy to do unique things, such as bond cracked materials.

Her efforts complete, the screen seemed to hold together a little better. It did not exactly undo the damage but the effects were somewhat mitigated. She then floated herself along to the computer which she powered up after a moment. The damage she had repaired allowed her to see all of what was on the computer screen clearly. There were a small number of files on the computer itself but she plugged in the voice recorder, which opened up 4 different files.

Which file would you like to check out?

She went over the computer files 1st before going into the sound files, there where always temp docs a records. A search by date would get her the latest. *.doc / fate list news 1st. She looked at the data on the system, getting her time bearings. Once she had looked at the files, she shifted the sound files across and looked to for a head set, seackers to hear it, she played the last time stamped 1st.

Nexus, surprised at such a set up, even after the ship had shaken as it did, stared blankly at the washing-station like set up A... bar of soap? No clothes... No blood... no one is here... What is going on on this ship?

DICE ARE HOT HOT HOT TONIGHT! NEXUS!!!!

Xander swore softly under his breath, as he moved back in to the other room, keeping on till he hit the room with the Pods. He froze, placing his back against the wall, watching the way he had just come. He took a few deep breaths before frowning and looking around again. He pulled the radio from his belt again and hit the broadcast button. "Nexus, I maybe got a problem but I don't see any other way than... F+!! it Nexus there is a chain fence here, the room is dark but there is blood..." He took a deep breath, calming himself.

"I have a large room only semi-illuminated. The blood trail stops about half-way in to the room and becomes a smear, like a drag mark. The path of the drag ends in the dark half of the room, which is cordoned off from the entrance to the room by a chain link fence it looks like. Stuck, half way through the fence and soaked in blood is a Labcoat!" He stopped, taking another calming breath. "I need to check it out. It only makes sense!"

He nodded before looking around, frowning. He moved to the pile of clothing and grabbed a shirt, beginning to tear it up in to strips. When it was torn up fully he pulled the bottle of oil from his jacket and began to slowly and carefully soak the rags in the oil, as he began to look around for a serviceable handle for his soon to be makeshift torch.

"I'm going to make a torch, give myself some light. I found some oil and some extra clothing!" He nodded. "Any updates?"

Xander is looking for something he can use as a torch handle. He intends to use the cutting torch to spark the torch once he has it set up.

Yeah I think... I have something here too... There's a bar of soap, perfectly untouched. How does that happen when the ship shook so hard it the whole thing rocked? I'm not liking this, Xander... I'd say someone's playing games, but...

wait a second, he's going to check it out? What is THAT reasoning?

WAIT A SECOND- XANDER! Hold on- let's see if we can find one another first. No need to take unnecessary risks. After all, the only reason I opened that death covered locker was so I could communicate with you. Let's reason this out first- I don't think this qualifies as an exploratory only mission any more. Survival first.

Damn him- what's he trying to do, kill the only other person alive on this whole damn ship to leave me alone? No- things started going better, and he's in the Security Control Room. Even if I die somehow, he'll have a warning to keep himself safe.

You ever think... maybe the doors were locked closed for a reason, Xander?

"Okay okay... It seems like the best idea though. I can hear a machine running at the back, where I need to go. If there is a machine running then it has to have an emergency power source that I might be able to salvage and use to power the holo-table. The holo-table should have some way for me to access files from before everything went t~&@ up. It all just seems logical..." He trailed off before frowning and staring off in to the darkness. He stows away the things he was working on, before pushing off and back in to the other room.

"There is another door, I will try that first I guess!"

Probably best to just not follow the trail of blood my new friend. I say that as I ironically follow the lead to the flood, but, heh, at least it's lit pretty good down here. Still not sure why all these shower heads are on though. Over and out Xander.

Marco tries one of the two ID cards to hopefully gain entry into the engineering room.
