Khristov: Would you please add to your profile a standard state block that includes things like AC, saves, etc.? I'd suggest you use a stat block in the SRD for a character of the same class and similar level as a template, such as this one. Right now, I'm having to spend time trying to figure out simple things like what his AC is.

On the Table:
Target: Bite: 1=Domitian,2=Khristov,3=Eianar: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Claw 1:1=Domitian,2=Khristov,3=Eianar: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Claw 2:1=Domitian,2=Khristov,3=Eianar: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Giant Weasel Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Giant Weasel Claw 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Giant Weasel Claw 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

As weapons are drawn and the weasel is increasingly surrounded, Erland prepares another sleep spell. The weasel is distracted by the approach of Khristov and slashes at him with his front claws. One of the two claws rips into him (7 points damage).

Then as Eianar steps into flanking position, it bites the druid. Its long sharp incisors dig deep into Eianar and the creature doesn't release its hold on him. The wound starts to gush blood. (8 points of damage + bleed at start of his turn.)

Attach rules:
The creature automatically latches onto its target when it successfully makes the listed attack. The creature is considered grappling, but the target is not. The target can attack or grapple the creature as normal, or break the attach with a successful grapple or Escape Artist check.

Damiano, seeing the weasel latch onto Eianar with his teeth, casts a spell to make the druid extra slippery, in hopes it can help him escape the deadly situation.

Ingrit delays.

The weasel's grip on Eianar makes it more vulnerable to attack, which helps Domitian land a nasty falcata strike that wounds the creature further. 9 points damage.

Khristov is next. The creature has the grappled condition, so it can't make attacks of opportunity. Once he has taken his action, I'll roll to see if the sleep spell by Erland was successful or not. Then Erland can take his next round action. If he heals Eianar then the bleed damage will not take place at the start of Eianar's turn. Otherwise, Eianar will take 1d8 + 4 bleed damage. By my account, he has 12 hit points remaining, so at worst he will be at 0 hp. This is why I prefer to resolve actions in melee order rather than in the posting order. Lots of little details of strategy get lost.

Ingrit makes an accurate hit with her next arrow, but it lodges in muscle and only causes a minor wound. Still the combined wounds caused by the trap and the other attacks by her allies has the weasel near death. But it is still a very dangerous foe.

Erland cannot heal Eianar this round. The healing hex requires touch and is a standard action to apply. With the difficult terrain, he can only move 15 feet and he will need to move at least 20 to get adjacent to Eianar. He might do well to move closer, make a melee attack or even a spell attack (the creature cannot make AOOs) on the weasel and be in position to heal Eianar next turn.

As for Eianar, he can attempt to break the grapple using the grease spell to good advantage. He will have a slightly better chance using escape artist, which is dex based, making his bonus +2 instead of his CMB which is +1. He gets +10 from the grease, and the creature's CMD is slightly lower because it has the grappled condition (Eianar does not have the grappled condition). The creature, being large, strong, and dexterous has a CMD around 20. Or Eianar can make whatever attack he wants or even cast a spell. The creature cannot make AOOs nor will he have to make a concentration check, since he is not grappled.

I have made one mistake regarding the bleed. The damage from bleed is just 1d4, not 1d8+4, which is the bite damage. Sorry for that error. FYI, the giant weasel in Beastiary 4 gets blood drain, which is 1d2 con instead of what the AP lists (bleed).

It is not clear from the rules if Eianar can move, but I'd say he can move to adjacent squares to the weasel. If he wants to separate from the weasel to move away, he'll have to break away.

Erland drives a spear at the giant weasel, but even with the beast distracted by his attempt to keep his jaws attached to Eianar, Erland is not able to land a damaging thrust.

The magical grease that now covers Eianar makes it harder for the weasel to keep its grip on the druid and he wriggles free. As he moves away from the beast, the wound it caused bleeds a lot.2 points of bleed damage. Keep in mind that if Eianar moves at all, it will provoke an AOO. He can't withdraw this round and the difficult terrain makes it impossible to take a five foot step.

Eianar moves towards Erland.

Rimkeening Crevasse C1

As Eianar steps toward Erland, the weasel tries to bite him again, but can't manage it. I moved Eianar 10 feet, which is a move action based on his listed movement rate in armor in difficult terrain. I seem to recall mention of snow shoes, which would get him closer, but I did not see it on his equipment list, so move him further if he as the range.

On the Table:
Target: Bite: 1=Eianar,2=Domitian,3=Khristov: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Domitian's Parry attempt is 16 - 2 (penalty for attempting it against a large creature) so it fails to parry.
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Attach plus 1d4 bleed rolled on Domitian's next turn.
Claw 1: 1=Eianar,2=Domitian,3=Khristov: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Claw 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Misses.
Claw 2: 1=Eianar,2=Domitian,3=Khristov: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Claw 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Domitian: Bleed: 1d4 ⇒ 3

The giant weasel is a flurry of white fur, teeth and claws as it desperately fights for its survival. I takes a claw swipe at the retreating Eianar but again misses the druid. It claws and bites at Domitian. As the bite nears the swashbuckler, he attempts to parry the attack, but can't overcome the weasel's speed and strength. The teeth drive into his flesh and latch on as had happened to Eianar. The other claw ripped into Domitians side for more damage. The loss of blood overcomes Domitian and he collapses bleeding in the snow. The weasel, sensing him go limp, releases his teeth and prepares to attack another.

Damage is 9 + 7 for 16 total. That puts Domitian at 24 points, which puts him negative 3. At the start of his turn, if no healing is applied before then, he will take 3 points of damage and will need to make a DC 16 stabilization roll.

"We should return to the lodge, at least there we can cure a bit and get warmed up. Perhaps we can field dress this beast, its pelt and meat won't go to waste that way."

If the group wants to carry Domitian back to the lodge, they can do that. There will, however, be one random encounter to deal with along the way, so set yourselves up and describe how your are moving Domitian.

The flesh and skin of the giant weasel weight about 200 lbs and the pelt will return a fine price, which I'll determine once you are in a position to sell it.

That should work. I don't think it will take you longer than two hours to get back to the lodge. When you post next, please double check that your profile lists any magic item you have, and make it clear which items are kept outside your backpacks. I don't want to give anything away, but in the next encounter, it may be important if you for what kind of action it takes to retrieve or ready the object. As a house rule I consider any item kept in some kind of special container on your belt or on the outside of a pack to be retrievable in the same way as drawing a weapon, a free action if part of a move action. Items in a normal backpack require a move action to locate and can provoke AOOs.

Returning the way they came, the party trudges along, with the unconscious comrade floating on the bed of force. The cold seems to ease a bit, suggesting they had been headed toward the source before turning around.

The sound of a bird flying close gives a half-a-heartbeat's notice of something approaching, which is not enough to prepare a defense. A black feathered bird about as big as a house cat, appears from the falling snow and flies close to Ingrit. She feels a slight tug at her belt. The bird flies by before she can react or interfere. As the bird flies away, she sees it carries a small bottle that had been on her belt, her oil of magic weapon.

By the time anyone has time to act, it has flown 25' away.

Eianar:
Eianar recognizes the bird as a crow but it is larger than most crows, more like the size of a raven. Although ravens and crows look similar to the untrained eye, Eianar is familiar with the difference and knows this is a crow, not a raven. It also seems to have magical abilities. It might be a witch or wizard's familiar or some other magical beast.

Damiano:
Damiano thinks this creature might be a witchcrow, a beast of the frozen north and Irrissen in particular. He knows these creatures have sharp senses, with darvision to 60 feet, the permanent ability to detect magic, and high perception skill. He knows they are unusually intelligent, with high dexterity. Although strength and constitution are their lowest attributes, they are still higher than 10. They have a fly speed of 60' with good maneuverability.

Erland:
Erland thinks this creature might be a witchcrow, a beast of the frozen north and Irrissen in particular. They are called witchcrows because they have witch hexes they can cast, including cackle, evil eye, and misfortune. They can also cast spells, including perceive cues, vanish, ventriloquism, ill omen, and mirror image. They can also detect magic constantly. Their caster level is 5.

Khristov:
Khristov recognizes this creature as a witchcrow. It is bigger than a normal crow and has the ability to vanish and uses that to get close enough to steal baubles and such from those it spots, especially magic items. These are beasts of the frozen north and Irrissen in particular. They are called witchcrows because they have witch hexes they can cast, including cackle, evil eye, and misfortune. They can also cast spells, including perceive cues, vanish, ventriloquism, ill omen, and mirror image. They can also detect magic constantly. Their caster level is 5.
They have no DR. Their best save is Reflex.
They are magical beasts.
He knows they are unusually intelligent, with high dexterity. Although strength and constitution are their lowest attributes, they are still higher than 10. They have a fly speed of 60' with good maneuverability.

Round 1

Erland
Ingrit

Bird
Damiano

All may post actions. The bird is 25 feet away and the snow imposes a -4 penalty of ranged attacks. By the time Damiano reacts, the bird is another 60 feet away from him. He will have to make a DC 12 perception check to target it, since it is 80 feet away and the falling snow interferes with vision. If he fails the roll, any attacks have a 50% miss chance.

"Gah! Where in the world did that thing come from?!?"

Cursing under her breath, Ingrit remains calm, nocking an arrow and taking careful aim as she tracks the bird's flight, releasing the arrow between breaths.

On the Table:
Ingrit: DC 15 Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

I would 'bot Khristov, but I don't see that he has a ranged weapon and he doesn't have any spells that could affect the fleeing bird, so I'm asumming he is on delay.

If Eianar has a spell he can cast this turn, he can do so. The bird, if not stopped this round will move away at speed 60'.

Erland's hastily fired crossbow bolt falls short. Ingrit's arrow, however, sails true. 8 points damage

The bird veers sideways long enough to send a evil glance at Ingrit before the corvine thief flies further away. Ingrit feels a chill as hex energy tries to affect her, but she shakes it off. Single move adds 60' to its distance from the party.

Round 1

For ranged attacks, the bird is 85' from Ingrit, 75' from Eianar, 85' from Damiano, 95' from Erland, and 105' from Kristov.
