You slip through the door of the burned out church. A canvas tarp acts as the roof of this burned-out stone church. Bubbling beakers and stills crowd the tables, while large sacks of powders—black, yellow, red, and white—line one wall. The air is heavy with the smell of alcohol and rotten eggs.

Two hobgoblins work at the stations while two large constructs assist with the mixing and moving of heavy ingredients.

Krowe and Bazsil both recognize alchemical golems when they see them.

10/Adamantine or Bludgeoning, inject alchemical concoctions with their needle fingers, can throw bombs as a ranged attack.

The rest of it also quickly reveals itself, the hobgoblins are crafting explosives. Recalling the stump remover you used to take down the bridge so long ago, you roughly estimate that there are enough explosives here to send you to whichever god you worship. There are in fact enough that your body and your spirit would arrive at the same time.

”Let’s back out and discuss. Not sure I want to be in here if they decide to kaboom this place,” Bazsil grabs some shoulders and slowly inches the party out of there.

”We we want to send a fire ball in? Some fire elementals to set off the stuff? I dunno. Krowe?” Bazsil asks when they are about 10’ outside.

"Yeah, it would be nice to keep some of these explosives, but it's just too risky. Let's blow it sky high." He looks around "From a distance..."

Krowe is less enthusiastic about this plan. ”I understand the temptation to set a spark to this tinderbox, but I dislike destroying supplies that might give us a true advantage in this war. If the three of you truly wish it, I will send an elemental to light the fuse, but I propose we attack the troops out here first and see if we can take them. If the battle goes poorly we can resort to destruction as plan B and then withdraw through a dimension door.”

Faolan shrugs, "Sure, we can try the surgical approach. Gonna be a fight with those constructs though. We should focus on the hobo's at first I think, maybe the constructs will quiet down without anyone commanding them." He seems quite uncertain of that idea, but he readies his shield and prepares to head back in.

Once inside, he'll creep up to a hobo, and start the battle breathing down his neck...

The tables and storage are all against the wall, the entire middle area is clear so nobody trips or spills dangerous chemicals on other dangerous chemicals. All told you have 45' by 25' to work with, not counting the raised area to the east where the head alchemist works. You are quickly able to position yourselves while invisible.

The shield hits the golem hard, smashing pieces of glass.

Bazsil vanishes and flees to safer areas of the bomb factory.
Bor flanks the golem with Faolan and punches it.

Bor's eyes go wide as Krowe hurls fire rays all around the room right after telling them not to blow everything. "Whoa! Careful." He continues to keep the golem busy.

AC 33 with buffs, so I’m missed I think.

Faolan settles in, buffs coursing through his system. He lines up the golem, swiftly gains Power Attack (martial flexibility dropping dodge) and begins to thrash it with everything he’s got. And then some.

Sweaty, and happier than he's been in a while he watches for the evil golem to crumble under his onslaught. If by chance it does before he runs out of attacks, he'll simply throw his shield at the other golem, 5' stepping toward it as well. In that case, -4 from each attack thrown.

Bazsil heals while Bor avoids any splash damage from smashed golem parts. Three swings in and Faolan's shield has smashed the golem to pieces.

He then throws his shield at the other golem. The first throw misses, ricocheting off the wall and back to Faolan, who throws it again and knocks the golems head off.

The alchemist is blinded by glitter just before the elemental trundles over and punches him into a wall. Covered in glitter and spitting blood, his companion slain and his golems smashed, the last alchemist grabs his bomb belt and raises it over his head, shouting in goblin.

Goblin:

"For Kosseruk!"

He slams the bombs into the wall next to him. Each of you wonders if Pharasma will be kind to you before the elemental holds itself in front of the blast. Pieces of rock bounce off you as the back wall disappears. You suspect the alchemist missed most of the gunpowder because of the glitter in his eyes since you're still alive.

The elemental of course is still alive, but on a different plane of existence.

Breathing hard and covered in dust, glitter, gunpowder, elemental, golem, and slightly drippy alchemist, all of you but Krowe hear a shouting and chanting in the yard outside. The other hobgoblins have heard the ruckus and are most likely just a few seconds away from storming through the door.
