Leaving the meat wings to their empty carbs, you move into the next room. You see two doors next to each other on a small landing. The doors are in the south and west walls. Running up the east side of the circular room are more stairs to the next level. You presume yourself to be at the base of the second tower you saw at the top of the cliff when you first approached.

Wrapped up like a bag of rocks, the elemental slams itself against walls, trying to crush its foe.

You mount the stairs, your sense of unease growing. You hear muttering from the top of the tower as you get closer. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the circular walls of this cozy study room. Tables, chairs, and a reclining sofa occupy the center of the room. Torn pages line the floor, and both they and the walls are covered in confusing scrawls of ink and charcoal.

A woman of average height and weight is working in the room, mumbling to herself and scribbling notes in the margins of a book torn from the nearest shelf.

”Excuse me, hi! The town sent us to check on you,” Bazsil says slowly and willingly breaking the invisibility on purpose, keeping his tone calm and soothing. ”Are you Navah?”

Your tone has kept her from attacking thus far, it's clear she's only getting some of the words and her mind is twisting what she does hear. Most likely she is going to order her tables to attack shortly.

Hags are Monstrous Humanoids. Your Nature is +13 to a 23. You know there are a variety of creatures known as hags, generically they are less evil than they are selfish. They are generally ugly but masters of magic.

The tables are animated by arcane magic, they are generally constructs but gain no special strengths beyond mobility.

"If you don't mind me saying so, you've been a bit too cooped up in this tower. Being cooped, locked up, self-isolating, all that...that's enough to make anyone go mad. Don't you worry about. We'll open these windows up when we're done here and get some air into this place."
