Baldwin the Merciful's: Treasure of Chimera Cove (ACG) (Inactive)

Game Master baldwin the merciful

Chimera Cove lies at the southern tip of a rocky and storm-swept cape projecting into the Inner Sea, in a no-man’s-land between the great nations of Cheliax and Andoran. The three islands sitting just off shore do little to block the sea’s relentless swells, but they do effectively anchor the persistent coastal fog, making local navigation perilous. The fishermen who settled this grim seashore decades ago have a knack for maneuvering their catboats to and from their spindly docks, but no merchant ships dare use the treacherous cove, even with a launch. Few outsiders find the settlement’s steady decline in recent years surprising, wondering only at why the place was ever founded.

Quiznab nods at Xavier's statement and hustles over to C-4. Still concentrating on the shadowy bug, he moves that to C6 to menace the Hobgoblin near Rena, and hopefully get its attention.

Double move + swift action to maintain concentration via effortless trickery feat. According to the spell description I can move the illusion within an area of 4+1/level = 10 10' squares. It doesn't define what shape that must be which allows creativity but makes it harder to know what is and isn't allowed.

Evil GM

Dr. Bugg is a bit shaken by the dazzling display that the hobgoblin did with his heavy flail this obviously affect his aim and his punches go wide.

Rena does manage to tumble away avoiding the attack of opportunity, but she's a bit dizzy when she stops as her aim is off significantly.

Xavier moves and hacks down with his sword but his attack missed.

RD 2: Hobgoblins

Quiznab will ready an action to cast Create Pit on the squares in front of the door if multiple enemies come out as long as party members won't be affected (DC17 reflex).
Move action: Perception check
Swift action: Maintain that illusion (it doesn't threaten this round because that would need another swift action.)

Updated RD 3 Map

A new HG appears form around the far side of the boathouse with his heavy flail in hand.

Edit: Forgot to say I'll dismiss the shadow bug, we're getting away from where I cast it so it probably can't move much further anyway.

Evil GM

the door is locked and solid Bug. You think there a board of some type latching the back of the door in addition to the hand mechanism.

2 hand damage: 1d10 + 7 + 3 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 3 + 6 + 3 = 21

Evil GM

Bug both sides of the building extend well over the water and you don't see another way in except by water.

As far as creating a pit to get in that is probably a situation issue, I can thing of several nasty occurrences that would happen in a situation like that. I'm more than willing to play it it out if you'd like. :-)

Male Gnome Arcanist (occultist) 8 | HP 44/44 | AC 15 (19 w/Mage Armor) | +5 fort +6 ref +8 will | +9 init +8 perc | Resource Tracker

How's the door holding up under the onslaught?

Xavier hacks and hacks at the door when an opening occurs.

bolt, part cover: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 - 2 = 12;damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1

Flat footed

That is followed quickly by bolt of an acidic arrow,

RTA, acid arrow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13;damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
*Flat Footed

Xavier you see there are at at least 10 folks sitting on the floor between the door and the interior of the boat house and there are more villagers lined up throughout the buidling (Targus would have told you there were 29 villagers total) These villagers are obvious shields/obstacles.
