So rouge or fighter
Sure, I'll play one of those eventually but pathfinder has so many other options and I did mention likeing having a gimmick
yes but soulknives like I was saying is a martial class, BaB 1-1 no spells, you could dump every mental stat and still be fine

But even with those that's like 5 classes out of several dozen
I promise that the next mid-low level campign I join I will play as a swashbucklerLook. I'm not going to try and make you change.
I was wrong to think that a good idea at any time. All groups should have a caster, and you fit the bill.
i don't always play them,
But really almost all classes have some magic to them, why?Because IT'S A WORLD WHERE MAGIC EXISTS
Even the 5 out of like 40 classes that don't use any magic will (assuming they survive) use magic items and lots of them

Why? :(A lot of reasons.
The most prevalent are-As far as I'm concerned, at least on a subconscious level, even when I'm trying to avoid thinking like this, I'm always back to "winning is, by definition, everything."
Then, you point out that power isn't what makes the game fun. Since i have the problem of a twisted Philosophy, i often successfully find some way to get myself into a delusion allowing me to get some twisted amount of enjoyment out of what is a petty and terrible mindset.
So, you take what is a nearly unachievable goal of how to act, at least for me, and point out that it is the norm, right after pointing out that the other way is boring and dull, and making me realize it.
And to top it all off, it was unintentional, so i can't even be mad at you for it.
That's not just you. Winning is the base human (especially male) mind set.
It's natural and fine to want to win, I'm just saying that you should try and get enjoyment out of more than just that. :)icehawk333 |
Yep. And i hate that magic is intrinsically superior to non-magic.
Can't make something really really well and provide more then a +1 to hit.
Can't become a legendary swordsman who cuts trough 10 inches of solid adamanite with nothing but a dagger.
It's because we base our fighters on reality.
I like the philosophy of the east better, where their legendary warriors could cut through entire mountains with one stroke. Cut the air itself.
Be legendary.

you want a system where Martians are not strictly confined by reality, and Martians are equal to if not superior to magicals?
Where a master (and i mean truely master) martial artist can take on several dragon powered magicals,Try the "exalted" system from white wolf
icehawk333 |
Pff.
"Martians."
Marshals, boy, Marshals.
I want a balanced game that is still well designed and interesting.
I want fighters to be able to actually be true legends, not "that guy the wizard turned to stone last week" or "that guy the wizard took over the mind of last week"
Grumble.
Lord Foul II |
Like I said "exaulted" or the similar system that takes place in the same universe (iirc) "vampire the masquerade"
It's a d10 system and all abilities are point but as opposed to class based but a master wizard is no more powerful (in fact many would suggest less powerful) than a master martial artist or gun/bow shooter

What is just me is how impossible it is to shake that "win" desire.
Simply put- I'm the guy who is determined to win /life/.Dragonborn3 |
Tropes For Ephebe
Mary Sue: Your Mileage May Vary. We're seeing more evidence that she isn't one as the game progresses.
Break The Cutie
Daddy's Girl
The Gunslinger
Haunted Heroine
The Chosen One: Every Champion, of course.
Cool Uncle: Not going to put this under every uncle's or nephew's page, so I'll put it here. Ryo and Keaton are pretty cool dudes.
Hero With Bad Publicity
Iron Woobie
Socially Awkward Hero: Especially at the start.
The Heart
Time Travel
The Medic: While her brothers get to have fun killing things, Ephebe gets stuck cleaning up after them.
Parent Ex Machina: Inverted. In the first game, Ephebe's the one who shows up to explain everything and, of course, heal everyone.
The Quiet One
Romantic False Lead: Played horribly straight.
Troubled, But Cute
Repost, to see what still applies. ;)

I've gotta go. Untouched school paper due tomorrow. See y'all some time tomorrow, I guess. :/
Ice, just try and focus more on story than competition. Most people are competitive and try to win. If you start realizing your mentality and take steps to change it, you'll be surprised how far it'll get you. :)

I've realized it for a few years now. I've done as much as i could think of to change it. I'm still trying. And it's hard as ****.

DB3: if you feel you can't do your villain justice, then you can narrate us back to the school. Honestly, I'm more interested in how Pyry ties into this than anything >_>
Oh, do you now? There have been... Clues.
Lyn knows, of course, since she helped. That alone might help you figure something out.
Or not, since Lyn and I are telepathy buddies. XD

I'm pretty sure I've proved by now that she's not a Mary Sue. :)
Otherwise, rather a lot of them...I think she's past socially awkward hero mostly.

Nothing kills work ethic like looking at a blank document page. -_-

Well, I'm going to put it to a vote from those involved.
I have thought of a way to continue the expedition, including the guardian, but I'm not sure I can still make a good show of it.
Continue: yay or nay?
I choose to not vote, because I'm purrfectly fine with either.

So much this. It took me all day to write a two page paper. >.<
Of course a lot of this was because I hadn't written a paper with citations in fifteen years and had to relearn everything.
Tybalt Baneko |
This is going to boil down to one person deciding as the others say they won't vote. XD
Lord Foul II |
also is warlock a good class to tack onto Tinker and Bombardier or should I go Wizard and make magic explosives?
could you shoot a link to those classes
like I said earlier100+ damage in a 40ft burst at will is nice
and you should probably take the fire infused template to oadd to your goblin

I hate polymorph any object.
I hate vague wordings.
I hate not understanding things.
I hate building a specialist character then realizing that your build doesn't work as well as you thought because the wording was so freaking vague that you couldn't tell that you couldn't use it to do things perfectly within it's power level.
.....
I hate everything lately.

I'm good at down to the wire work (and usually can't work without it). And BSing stuff really quickly. Most of my free response documents are finished the class before they're due.
I could do this just fine if I could stay away from here long enough to get to it. >_<Tybalt Baneko |

How connected to Dreamscapes are Amber and Opel?
Well thats hard to say, the can of they wish see it and enter it, why do you ask?
Jess Messel |
Make it fair, Jess. It's Advanced P.E for a reason, even if there are people who don't want to go through your minefield.
It is NOT a minefield, well it is, buuut, there's more than just mines in it, there's the Dismemberment Mines, the Confetti grenades, exploding sheep, rockets, more than a few specialty explosives...not just a minefield, you insult my by calling my course of art a mere minefield. Mines just explode, mine do so much more.
