As a swift action, it spend a mythic point to intensify its Immortal Anguish:

Any creature beginning its turn within 60 feet of a mythic banshee and able to both hear and see it is stricken with despair (as crushing despair) for 1d6 minutes (DC 26 Will negates). Creatures succeeding on their saving throw are immune to the immortal anguish caused by that mythic banshee for 24 hours. A mythic banshee can spend one use of its mythic power as a swift action to intensify the anguish it radiates until the end of its next turn, forcing creatures to save again even if they have previously saved (though such creatures gain a +2 circumstance bonus to the saving throw). Even creatures that succeed on their saving throw against this effect are affected as crushing despair for 1d6 rounds, while creatures failing their saving throw begin to wither and die as if afflicted by the curse of the ages, and the despair caused by this ability persists until the curse of the ages is removed.

As soon as Rafael admits defeat, he and Wu appear outside the gate to the arena, sans their most expensive magic item. (Wu's soul restored to his body, his body whole again.)

Might want to get those negative levels looked at.

From here, once healed, you may re-enter the Arena and take one of the other beginner challenges, apart, together, and/or with new partners, as you see fit.

Rafael sees that Wu is restored and feels a little better.

"Well that ended poorly. Learned some valuable lessons though. I will definitely load up on some expendables so that I have some other options next time. Definitely more than just the one use of my armor to be able to fly."
He claps Wu on the shoulder.
"It looks like I have some bartering to do, but afterwards if you wish to try another trial I would be honored to team up with you again."

Once again, the stairs turn and twist a bit on the way down. Soon, however, they also grow wider and deeper, until they open into a vast tomb, sized for gigantic creatures.

To the right of the stairs, a monumental statue of a hydra-like monster with four stinger-like heads on long necks and hundreds of shrieking, fanged maws and blinking eyes, each painted a different color, covering its pale-blue, serpentine body.

Echoing through the chamber, a chorus of voices sing a song in Abyssal, promising pain and new life.

That spell Gail cast on you should protect you from the sort of special attacks undead usually use, so I'm not quite as worried about the demiliches I might otherwise be, although I know my bread-and-butter tactics won't work against them. I think I'll probably wind up summoning some more good outsiders to help take care of them. As for the quippolth, I don't know much useful about them."

Restoration to remove negative levels (since it is the same day, all are temporary) 280 gp
Mage armor (CL 3rd level) 30 gp
Greater Magic Weapon (CL 20th) on hand. 600 gp
Darkvision (CL 3rd level) 60 gp

Greater Heroism 660 gp
and resist elements (fire, cold, acid, electricity 30 for each CL 12) 360 per, so 1460 gp

3690 gp spent on spells.

Also 700 gp spend on scroll of death ward, which I hand to Rafael.

Pharnmournx sends the shadow demons to scout. Two of them peel off to investigate the north wing, and two keep flying forward along the ceiling towards the east wing. The ghaele turns invisible and then moves into the center of the chamber, 10 feet in front of the middle of the statue. Pharnmournx moves a little forward and up against the west wall so that she has a vantage point to observe any magical energies that might be emanating from the north wing. Motol, already invisible, flies off her shoulder into the main part of the chamber and looks for magical auras in the east corridor.

I'm sending shadow demons 1 and 4 north, and shadow demons 2 and 3 east. The ghaele is using its greater invisibility SLA. Motol is using detect magic. Pharnmournx is moving to the square W of where shadow demon 3 was and using her arcane sight. BTW, I don't see coordinates like the last map had on this map. Those were helpful.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Commoner 2

WuRa:

Rafael strikes a powerful blow to the work, cutting a large gash in its rubbery hide.

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40 Fort. It is not stunned.

Worm #3 tries to retaliate against the nimble Rafael.

Bite 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (9) + 25 = 34
Stinger 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40

Both attacks miss the defending hero.

Meanwhile, #1 tries the same against Wu.

Bite 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (9) + 25 = 34
Stinger 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (1) + 24 = 25

With the same failing results.

Worm 4 surges forward towards Wu, attempting to snatch him up in its maw.

Bite 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 25 = 37

The agile monk cartwheels out of the way.

And #2 moves forward, but its colossal size makes moving its bulk a slow process.

GM Damage Notes Worm 3:

Full damage, took 42 HP damage

Male HP 248/257 AC 47, T 25, FF 40, Fort +29, Ref +31, Will +25, Init +15, Percept +35

GM&Rafe:

Wu will continue to pound upon it attempting to tame the beast of silly putty.

power attack, dragon style, greater heroism.

to hit: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (17) + 28 = 45 damage: 2d8 + 55 ⇒ (7, 1) + 55 = 63

(adds up to 461 for AC < 42)

confirm: 1d20 + 47 ⇒ (7) + 47 = 54

Ok, since last time it appeared to have an AC under 34, all of the above both hit and critted.

crit damage: 14d8 + 385 ⇒ (7, 8, 4, 2, 1, 3, 6, 7, 4, 2, 7, 8, 3, 1) + 385 = 448

So total damage is 909 (/2 = 454) and should leave a mark.

On the outside chance it is not dead, it is exhausted, and staggered for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.

WuRa:

It has a 50% chance to negate your critical, but it really doesn't matter, as even without critting you have successfully turned it to a gooey grape jelly-likevwormmeal paste.

One down three to go.

GM & Wu:

Evading the worm's first attack, Rafael ripostes (using Crane Riposte against target of Crane Wing for missing).
Riposte: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (16) + 30 = 46 1d8 + 29 ⇒ (3) + 29 = 32

Rafael now puts a full effort into dropping the worm.

ActionsSwift-activate Greater heroism from boots. Free- activate haste and switch Crane Wing to worm #4. Full attack giving up Combat Expertise (but gaining Defensive Parry and Steel Net), still using PA (-5/+10 damage) and Stunning Assault (-5/ Stun DC 29).

GM and Valgrim:
Motol sends a beam of inky blackness at the foe in the NW corner, and then all four shadow demons charge it. Pharnmournx moves so that she can see the creature, and then casts a spell at it. Gail the ghaele mutters, and a cylinder of flame appears around the creature.

Motol is using his wand of enervation. The shadow demons are incorporeal, so they shouldn't have to worry about obstacles on a charge, and they have pounce. The ones I sent east will use sprint to get in position, if they need to. All their attacks are vs. touch AC, as well. Pharnmournx is casting eyebite (DC 31 Fort save or be sickened, which can only be removed by remove curse). The ghaele is casting flame strike. I've been forgeting my permanent arcane sight, but Pharnmournx always learns the location and power of any magical aura within 120 ft.; just throwing that out there. :)
