1d8 ⇒ 4
I know we got the racial bonuses for being human, but I don't think so for the bonuses from Ghost Hunter.
GM Wolf |
Thank you, Wolf. I have a few questions:
1) Do we get the same amount of skill points we received when we made our characters, or do we have the standard skill points per class?
2) I don't remember if we got the Level 1 benefits of +2 to One Ability when we made our characters. If not, can we add those now?
3) When I level, can I add my familiar to my character sheet?
4) Are we, who dedicated ourselves to The Mistress, still receive the Youthful Draught of Bodily restoration?
1)Standard skill points for your class
2)I am pretty sure those were added in, plus there will still be some chances to increase your ability scores...3)Yes.
4)Yes. I could look back to see exactly what it does but would you remind me please.
Take the goblin ears and claim our reward for the quest,
speak with the Jackals and see if we can find one of those magical spots,
speak with 'what's his name about a mission'...
Joe level up.
With Delman and Artemis finishing the day with leveling up. I would suggest the rest of you do the same and pick up with the goblin ears in the morning at the guild house.
Frank what specials do you think you would apply to the list for yourself? Everyone please supply the list with your choices so I can confirm it. Thank you.

That was something you left as a mystery. RP-wise, you hinted the draught could get Joe back into fighting shape when he was 20 years younger. Mechanics-wise, you may have hinted that it could boost our stats considerably.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Joe leveled to Level 2.
Hit Dice: 1d10 ⇒ 3 +2 Con +1 Fast Learner = 6.
BAB +1 Fort +1 Will +1
Divine Grace (Su)
At 2nd level, a paladin gains a bonus equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) on all Saving Throws.
Lay On Hands (Su)
Beginning at 2nd level, a paladin can heal wounds (her own or those of others) by touch. Each day she can use this ability a number of times equal to 1/2 her paladin level plus her Charisma modifier. With one use of this ability, a paladin can heal 1d6 hit points of damage for every two paladin levels she possesses. Using this ability is a standard action, unless the paladin targets herself, in which case it is a swift action. Despite the name of this ability, a paladin only needs one free hand to use this ability.
Alternatively, a paladin can use this healing power to deal damage to undead creatures, dealing 1d6 points of damage for every two levels the paladin possesses. Using lay on hands in this way requires a successful melee touch attack and doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity. Undead do not receive a saving throw against this damage.

Oh I assumed we all were getting the specials listed. I will have to think. I will look at some classes and archetypes and see what I can come up with.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Oops! Forgot the level 2 bonus to one skill.
Perception + 2
Jellena Darkling |
For Jellena: at least projected
1st: gain a +2 to one ability. (Wis)
2nd: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ... (diplomacy)
3rd: Gain a special - Bardic music
4th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before: (Dex)
5th: gain a bonus feat (extra channel)
6th: (Divine Grace)
7th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before (Cha)
8th: Gain a special
9th: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ...
10th: +2 to one ability, your choice; or +1 to two abilities.

Hey all that time of year again. Gulf Wars (Large SCA event in Mississippi) Starts Saturday. I leave on Wednesday. I will be gone until the 18th. Please bot me as needed. I should be posting the next 2 days but not as often as usual due to the crunch of getting last minute work done before leaving. Thank you.
I was thinking about Bardic Music as well but doing the (Selfish) Dawnflower Dervish using a Scimitar and only getting the performance benefits for myself. Divine Grace is great. Was thinking about a Mutagen from alchemist as well. Still pondering. Sorry been busy with work and getting stuff done in preparation to leave for war.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Best of luck, Frank!
Jellena Darkling |
Healer, inspiring, and diplomacy master are my plans! :)
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Bump.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Glad to see you are okay. I was thinking about it: This has been the most enjoyable journey from level 1 to 2 I've ever had! Arcanium is a very imaginative campaign, and I look forward to all the posts! Keep up the great work!
Frank Steel |
Back from war. Spent the morning on work emails. Have a meeting this afternoon so will make a game post tomorrow looking forward to getting back on track.
Frank Steel |
The usual drinking, fighting, singing, drunken shenanigans. Fighting was fun and clean. Good times all around. Decent weather. Now have to wait another year to go again.
Artemis Eule |
Sorry to hear that Wolf. Glad your doing fine and hopefully you will recover soon.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Yeah. Glad you are feeling better at least.
"Ooooh you beady eyed bird! You do that again and Brandon will pay. You hear me!" The sword lashes out with its words.
LOL!!!
Frank Steel |
1st: gain a +2 to one ability. (Str: I never got this, I didn't even get the Human Bonus +2 to a stat, will add to Str now?)
2nd: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ... (Perform Dance)
3rd: Gain a special - Divine Trait Progression as a Mighty Godling
4th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before; or +1 to two abilities. (+1 to Str and Cha)
5th: gain a bonus feat (Not sure yet will decide when there)
6th: Scion Talent Progression as a Mighty Godling
7th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before (+2 to Cha)
8th: Lineage Domain Progression as a Mighty Godling-
9th: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ... (Perform Dance again)
10th: +2 to one ability, your choice; or +1 to two abilities. (+1 Str and Cha)
11th: Greater Scion Talent Progression as a Mighty Godling
12th: gain a bonus feat
13th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before (+2 Con)
So I had a thought since Megingjord is an Artifact that as it grows in power it will slowly Turn Frank into the New God of Thunder hence going with the Mighty Godling abilities as my specials. What do you think? Also sticking within a single class archetype I was thinking Mjolnir will be summoned at 5th level.

VERY nice! I love the godling classes! I'm pulling for you!
GM Wolf |
The human +2 bonus is classified as added from your background.
1st: gain a +2 to Str
2nd: Gain a bonus +2 on (Perform Dance)
3rd: Gain a special - Divine Trait (as a Mighty Godling) - Which one?
4th: (+1 to Str and Cha)
5th: gain a bonus feat (Not sure yet will decide when there)
6th: Gain a special - Scion Talent (as a Mighty Godling ) - Which one? OR Summon Mjolnir
7th: +2 to Cha
8th: Gain a bonus +2 on (Perform Dance)
9th: Lineage Domain Progression as a Mighty Godling
10th: +1 Str and Cha
11th: gain a bonus feat
12th: Greater Scion Talent (as a Mighty Godling)
13th: +2 to Con
I made a few alterations to the line up: 1st Ability Score, 2nd skill/feat, 3rd Special.
You may have a specific talent or trait but not the progression of it. As most of the Specials we are choosing are set for that level not gaining more bonuses from other levels or as we gain higher levels.
1st: gain a +2 to one ability. (Wis)
2nd: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ... (diplomacy)
3rd: Gain a special - Bardic music - Inspire Courage
4th: +2 to (Dex)
5th: gain a bonus feat (extra channel)
6th: (Divine Grace)
7th: +2 to (Cha)
8th: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ...
9th: Gain a special
10th: +2 to one ability, your choice; or +1 to two abilities.
At 1st level you gain a +2 to one ability, your choice.
2nd: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ...
3rd: Gain a special - Ghostly Smite 1/day
4th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before; or +1 to two abilities.
5th: gain a bonus feat
6th:
7th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before
8th: Gain a special - Exorcise Possession
9th: Gain a bonus on a skill - +2 on ...
10th: +2 to one ability, your choice; or +1 to two abilities.
11th: Gain a special - Speak to the Restless
12th: gain a bonus feat
13th: +2 to one ability, your choice different than before
You can tell that I delayed the special gain by at least 1 level but normally 2.
Artemis Eule |
Well, I guess my list didn't send the first time.
Generally using the Planar Rifter Archetype as we discussed Wolf
1st: Gain a +2 to one ability of your choice (Int)
2nd: Gain a bonus +2 to a skill (Craft: Alchemy)
3rd: Gain a special (Infused Grit)
4th: Gain a +2 to one ability, your choice different than before; or +1 to two abilities. (+2 Wis)
5th: Gain a bonus feat (Plan is to be either Far Shot or Improved Initiative)
6th: Gain a special (Planar Resistance)
7th: Gain a +2 to one ability, your choice different than before (Dex)
8th: Gain a bonus +2 to a skill (Stealth)
9th: Gain a special (Planar Strike)
10th: Gain a +2 to one ability, your choice different than before; or +1 to two abilities. (+1 Int, +1 Dex)
11th: Gain a bonus feat (not sure on what feat, will decide closer towards this level)
12th: Gain a special (See in Darkness as per the Rogue Advanced Talent, but without the Darkvision prerequisite)
13th: Gain a +2 to one ability, your choice different than before (Either Cha or Con, undecided yet)
And to answer your question, lets say Artemis did go back to Sven to finish up his training.
Frank Steel |
Alright makes sense
3rd: Divine Trait will be spent on -Divine Portfolio I : Nature Mystery: Nature Whispers Strength (Uses Str instead of Dex for AC and CMD)
6th: Scion Talent Force of Brawn (Uses Str for bonus to Saves. Also uses Str for bonus to Diplomacy, Perform Dance, and Acrobatics instead of normal ability.
You said "If you stick with one archtype to tie your specials all together you will gain a relic item at 5th level."
That is why I had summoning Mjolnir at 5th.
Frank Steel |
Ah I got it now. So what would a relic item be then? I will put summon Mjolnir at 9th then in place of the lineage domain. Thanks for clearing it up :)
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Darn. Oh well, enjoy! Hopefully we can take this time for some RP moments.

Happy Easter. Glad you're back, Wolf. Seriously. Work is so completely f#<ked right now. I've worked the last 11 days straight, because it's so hard to hire good replacements. My next day off is Thursday. I almost god-d@mn live for these posts nowadays.
Artemis Eule |
For the rifle Jellena handed Artemis, would it have been modified by her or someone else in any way or would it just be a standard modern rifle?
Artemis Eule |
That's the issue, I don't own a rifle or any other firearm for that matter, so I'm really confused on what Jellena is actually handing Artemis.
And don't worry about it Wolf, life always finds a way to get to us.
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |

Yeah, we're in this for the longhaul! This campaign is wall-to-wall awesome!

GM Wolf |
Artemis I can't find your background anywhere. Please put it in a spoiler in your character sheet.
Who had a carbine or rifle in their background?
Oh well Artemis you can have a combat rifle. It shoots either a single shot or a 3 round burst. It also has a scope with easy targeting up to 300 feet, a silencer muzzle, and two magazine clips each holding 9 bullets. One of the magazines have orange glowing tunes on its bottom. Any questions?
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
Can't say I do. Let's nuke some undead!
Artemis Eule |
I'll repost the background onto my character sheet. I do, however have a few questions regarding the rifle. Since a combat rifle isn't statted out on the modern firearms page, what would be the rifle's maximum range, range increments, damage, critical chance/damage dealt on a critical, and its weight? Also, does the silencer inflict any penalty on the combat rifle to hit and would the scope and silencer be intercompatible with the rifle Artemis has currently?
Joe "Joseph" Waskalis |
C'mon Artemis! Unleash HELL!
GM Wolf |
Artemis: Rifle
Dmg (S) Dmg (M) Critical Range Misfire Capacity Weight1 Type2 Special
1d8 1d10 ×4 100 ft. 1 1 12 lbs. B and P
Using the silencer drops the maximum range down 20 feet and one increment. It also confers a -2 on attack.
The weapon normally has 4 range increments.
The scope gives you a +2 on attacks.
You could take the attachments off of the combat rifle and attach them to your firearm but then would not be able to be put back onto the combat rifle without some major work.
Waiting on Artemis and Einar. Einar did say he was coming back...

Waiting on Artemis and Einar. Einar did say he was coming back...
That's awesome!!
Artemis Eule |
Posted, hopefully I didn't screw anything up, and if I did please let me know. Also, does the scope modify range penalties at all or is it just the +2 to attack?
