Sense motive auto succeed.

Meridian floats a bit closer. Maybe 40 feet.

"Why are you crossing the circle and putting yourself in harms way? Use ranged attacks.

Meridian says aloud and extremely casually just as she begins casting a long spell.

Summon monster 5. I'll be calling multiple lantern archons

active: see post HP 151/151; AC 28 (26 currently); DR 15/-; FH 14 Psion 5 / Metamorph 7 / Worm that Walks CR+2

Inubrix slows his advance, though still rising, and takes a shot at Shaoraz now that his enemy is in range.

It doesn't make much difference, but I'd like to note that I'm using a reach weapon, so I'd be in the 50% zone unless he'd like to disarm me. (Don't disarm me! :( )Also, Shaken does not affect damage.

After review, 50% Miss chance would have removed one hit, and the other one you subtracted too much. Illia takes two hits, one for 42, one for 8 negative levels.

Deathless Armor Enchant, High is good: 1d100 ⇒ 3

Well, none of the other attacks got negative levels through, so that only leaves one condition to remove for Timey-Wimey-Shenanagianery.

Monty Finally Uses that At-Will Heal? Maybe?: 3d8 + 15 ⇒ (1, 1, 5) + 15 = 22

"BECAUSE THIS IS MORE FUN!" Illia- yells back at Meridian while blood splatters and sprays from the both of her and Shaorhaz as they exchange attacks.

Damages: 6d8 + 17 ⇒ (5, 8, 2, 1, 6, 4) + 17 = 43

The important thing about attacking with a Reach weapon is that you would not be within reach of his attacks.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Actually, Shaorhaz has reach due to his large size. (And the pentagram would need to be big enough to accomodate this). But it does mean you're attacking vs Flat-footed and have a higher miss chance, which is a real big deal.

HP 145/145, Temp HP: 15, Stoneskin: 90/90, DR 15/Bludgeon and Magic, AC 24, CMD 13, SR 23, Fort +10, Dex +7, Will +12, Per +26, Stealth +38, Active Effects: Prestidigitation, Read Magic, Dimensional Anchor, Deathwatch, Unseen Servant, Nondetection, Fleshy Facade, Comprehend Languages, Invisibility Alarm, Aura Sight, Arcane Sight, Tongues, Greater Magic Fang, Symbol of Revelation

Anaxian relaxed back into his own skin again, the blank numbness of undeath settling though him like a comforting blanket. Being alive in the Woundwyrm's body had been thrilling, but also quite distracting.

His unseen servants floated his spell component pouch back up to him. If it's too far for them, Anaxian has two other spare component pouches, each with a couple of his boosting reagents. (Multi-bodied creatures have to plan ahead.)

He looked down at the trapped demon prince and opened his mouth while touching the gem on the inside of his forearm and burning more powerful reagents from his pouch.

Rapid fire arcs of black lighting leaped from Anaxian's mouth and carved terrible rips through the smoke leaving hollow after images in their wake. Dull, colored dust poured from his fangs as the powerful reagents boosting the spells were consumed.

Activating my Rod of Piercing Spell now that I'm back in my own body, and using a Quickening Diamond, an Empowering Topaz, a Maximizing Sapphire and Dweomer's Essence with a casting of Enervation. Then, doing it again without the Quickening Diamond this time.

For clarity, that's a Maximized Empowered Enervation, and a Quickened Maximized Empowered Enervation.

Spell Penetration, 1st Enervation: 1d20 + 12 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 5 + 5 = 34
Spell Penetration, 2nd Enervation: 1d20 + 12 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 5 + 5 = 36

So, unless he's immune to negative energy, that's 12 Negative Levels.

Hope this works, or I just burned 20,500 gp worth of spell-boosting reagents for nothing. Sad dragon.

The larger dragon continued with mocking laughter. His hollow, burning voice echoed all around as the smoke lifted.

"Look. See your sad little fortress. Only a smoking ruin now. Your army, crushed. The last of your forces, fled. Yourself, trapped. Nothing left but to die."

Using Ghost Sound and Telepathic relay to talk to Shaorhaz while I fly off to retrieve Inubrix.

Didn't make the edit window for my first post, so here's my attack rolls.
Ranged Touch vs. Flat Footed: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

In the brief moment of silence following the creepy multi bodied consciousness speech thing meridian floats and stares momentarily before clapping her hands. Both breaking the silence and slightly startling herself.

"Well, that was fun."

"I'll leave you (indicating all of Her companions and Anaxians bodies with a casual point) to handle this. I'm going to go sift through the smoking ruin to see if I can find anything useful.

If it's all done, Inubrix will assist Meridian. He's better at that then swarm-punching the guy wrapped in all the spells.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Right. So!

Shaorhaz is close to death. Twelve levels of drain means he's far too weak to hurt anyone—and he knows it! But he also has a good idea of his own health, and an attack that turns anything it kills into a juju zombie under his control. I'm going to take a few slight liberties with the rules here, but...

Shaorhaz hisses as the strength runs out of his limbs, and Illia's slashes connect twice more. ::Deskari's legions will avenge this! And I will give you none of the satisfaction you seek!:: he shrieks telepathically, as though making a decision, as his stinger whips around and plunges through his chest. With a flicker, one of his four hands passes a small mirror in front of his face.

His body convulses and smokes, and when Shaorhaz reopens his eyes, they are white, and lifeless. Lurching in sudden spasms, no longer bleeding, he shudders against the Ring of Protection and then steps out of it, dropping downward and disappearing into the sky with the blink of a teleportation.

Knowledge (planes or religion) DC 30:
Shaorhaz is dead. With his armies lost in an embarrassing slaughter, it's unlikely that any powerful demon lord would see the benefit of returning him to life; and few true demons would follow a failed, undead impersonation of a real lord of the abyss.

Knowledge (planes or religion) DC 35:
Shaorhaz is dead. With his armies lost in an embarrassing slaughter, it's unlikely that any powerful demon lord would see the benefit of returning him to life; and few true demons would follow a failed, undead impersonation of a real lord of the abyss.

The thing that escaped has Shaorhaz's body, his skills, and his memories; but not his drive, his his patience, or his cunning. It may seek revenge on you in the future, or just seek to escape forever into some dark corner of the world, but it will do so only according to a simple set of instructions imparted by the demon into his body with his dying thoughts.

Far below, the three Siabrae finish off the last demons and cultists foolish enough to not flee—and their tentacles and stony fists begin to tear at the remaining stones of Greengrave Keep, slowly leveling the blocks of rubble into a smooth plain of lava and gravel.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

"Is... is that... is it over?" The mystery crusader speaks up, twenty or so seconds after the demon disappears. "Never have I seen—or imagined—such violence, chaos, hatred, death..." his voice trails off "But perhaps this is still a victory for our crusade. Certainly the forces of evil lost something today. Now, if you'll permit me to collect my fallen comrades, Ellsuana can begin the process of restoring their souls."

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Does anyone want to report back to the Siabrae council just what, exactly, you've done, or should we gloss through that?

"Fair enough and agreed. I'm going to search around. "

Meridian is going to take 20 searching the keep plus magical assistance both above and below ground. She's looking for loot or ideally something powerful she can use herself.

"Take them" Anaxian said to the crusader.

I'm taking the corpse of the Woundwyrm, and any other mostly intact bodies.

Female Human(Fallen) Witch/10

Shouldn't the caster make that roll?

The elemental witch, with the assistance of the still living crusaders(or her vile allies), gathers the bodies of the fallen, and begins to restore them to life.

1d100 ⇒ 7 Reincarnate for Gopher, welp Dwarf isn't funny, but it is different, lol

I dunno, a dwarf named Gopher which is a burrowing creature, is kinda funny to me.

Female Human(Fallen) Witch/10

So how many more dead are there?

Sir Paladin, and Raxus, I believe.

DEAD

i'm dead but i dont particularly want to rebuild this character, or really use it. someone else could take if over if it is useful to them.

Female Human(Fallen) Witch/10

I'm not sure we're going to be using these characters after this. I think my bringing them back to life is just to wrap up the scene

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Are we waiting on anything?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Oh! Good call. I guess not.

As usual, the mission, start to finish, only takes a week. After some arguing over whether Shaorhaz is truly dead, the Siabrae agree to pay "every gemstone you can carry," and a few days later, an army of earth elementals buries Meridian and Drisquar under a pile of gems—mostly raw, common, and uncut, but with a few priceless diamonds in there. But Anaxian and Inubrix have some sort of clever scheme, and it turns out they can carry a lot more—and pretty soon there are no gems left. "You have done us, our faith, and the world, a great favor," the oldest Siabrae comments, when the deal is done. "But your service is paid, and we have no use for your heresies in our land. Now leave, and never return."

Rocks fall, everyone dies

When the party returns to Escarra, little has changed, other than the city treasury—which is now a heavily-locked and trapped vault full of uncut gems and starmetal ingots.

But there is one piece of city business, at least, that seems to have arisen. Apparently the nearby forest's vegepygmies have sent servants bearing a note: after weeks of devastating harpy attacks, they wish to formally surrender to your hegemony, in the hopes that some of their lives might be spared.

Each member of the council receives a magical message requesting a the council to convene in the council chamber the following day. After our recent spoils we have much to discuss.

Council Meeting

Agenda Item 1

What do you want to do with the Vegepygmies?

Agenda Item 2
Meredian proposes an idea to keep us all in contact and requests 75K from the treasury to create it.

Telepathic bond HexStone:

For sake of simplicity this item is a 6 sided stone. Up to 6 participants can join together and attune themselves to the stone at a time. They must all be present during attunement, but may travel any distance thereafter per the Telepathic Bond Spell. The stone maintains the bond indefinitely or until it's broken. Individual members may be disconnected via dispel magic or similar means. Telepathy only functions on the plane where the stone is currently. Though the bond is inactive if on a separate plane than the stone if the stone is later brought to that plane the bond becomes active and may be used normally without reattunement. Any subsequent use of the stone causes all previous links to break.

Cost Breakdown

Spell level 5 X Caster Level 15 X2000 = 150,000 Market. 75,000 Craft.
