I'm not necessarily advocating additional characters, but since it was brought up I had a thought.

I played a ghost shadow sorcerer in a game before and that was a lot of fun. If I had thought of it much much easier I'd probably have gone that way with Meredian. I can see some variation of that working for John if he wanted to.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

TCG, was that one I was a Dullahan in? If so, that was a damn fun game.

Wish I could have been one in this game, they are so cool :)

It was awhile ago, but I think so

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Umbral Blade seems like a really good fit as a PrC for Dris.

Only thing is, I loose out on gaining new Stalker Arts and I need six ranks in Planes. If I decide to take the PrC at some point, I'm hoping Dapper would allow a retrain, but I am uncertain I want to give up more Stalker Arts....

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Retrains are free, but take downtime.

For the curious, we're currently in round 7 of this fight (Drisquar had a few more rounds, of course). Most of your buffs last around 100 rounds. I expect this fight to be over in 20-30... but Voshgurvaghol also has two levels' worth of enemies, most of which you've condensed into a single fight, so this will be an entertaining experiment in endurance.

I can go all day long. "Killing" me only gives a 30 min reprieve. And I only sleep for two hours. Even if I have to do it alone I'll nickle and dime this city into rubble along with everyone in it.

The Master of Souls was rude to me. I'll burn his life's work to the ground. If he had another aspect to his existence I'd burn that down too.

Meridian is my kind of girl. If I were a normal, living dragon I'd dress her in something skimpy and let her play music in my lair while I slept on my giant pile of treasure.

Wow, that's high praise.

Her clothes shift with her mood. Presently I'm imagining her outfit looking something like Wonder Woman's swimsuit if wonder woman were more psychotic.

I need to contrive some way for her to do more damage. Like throwing wheelbarrows full of napalm, but without the hassle of constantly having to find napalm and wheelbarrows.

Would a DSP Kineticist deal more damage? I think they get perks on the energy powers, beyond choosing which energy type they deal whenever they want.

Also, Dapper, this turn my miss chance is 70%, because I didn't use Split Second. Last turn I did, hence the Lightning Bolt and charge attack. Any turn I don't use Split Second, Duck Aside gives me a 20% miss chance that stacks with any other sort.

Oh. I try to avoid third party. Pathfinder alone has more than I could possibly memorize without adding more.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Thankfully, the intrawebz negates the need to memorize anything lol :P

True, but you'll still need to know the abilities when you use them.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Which is why I have all of Dris' abilities in his profile :)

GM, should I use the standard stats for Chuul and Karkinoi?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Yep. A few class levels on some of them, but those don't affect animation.

Gugs: 1) 105/105, 2) 105/105, 3) 105/105. Belier 122/122. Chuul 1) 75/75, 2) 75/75

Alright, a duo of Bloody Shocking Chuul have been added to the minion list.

The Karkinoi haven't because they make kinda bad minions. I'll consider them part of the "parts" inventory for later Necrocrafting.

Gee, I wonder why the other crab men are hesitating to attack you...

I'm just the clean up crew. By the time John and I get to them Drisquar's pretty much killed them all!

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Oh, don't worry, this is gonna get uglier. Hopefully everyone's got enough player stamina to make it through the fight, though.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Oh, also, a note to all my games: I'll be donating bone marrow next week. I expect this to be mostly incapacitating wednesday-friday, but how much energy I have in the week before/after to post to games may depend on how much residual pain I'm in from the drugs/procedure etc.

I'm legitimately not sure how to respond to that.

You're doing a good thing. The game will wait for you to feel better. Don't even sweat it.

Yeah, we can take a short break while you save someone's life. Good job.

exactly. not even a queston

I mean I'm not saying I'm suspending my games or anything... I'm gonna be super bored in hospitals, I just may or may not want to type things.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Considering I've heard that's one of most painful medical procedures ever, you are far braver than I.

Also, totally understandable if you're not up for posting.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

One of the things I like to do in games is look at how mechanics create and influence styles of play. That helps me figure out where the ideal mix of consistancy and versatility is.

Casters pretty much all have this. It's trickier to find with martials. The archer is probably the most ideal martial in terms of that combination (the zen archer being the ideal specimen to me).

This game is super interesting because it lets me see a lot of mechanical combinations (and therefor playstyles) that I rarely get to see. I'm really enjoying the game, not just from a fun story perspective, but as an analysis in game design.

So thanks, GM. Hope your recovery is Drisquar-fast

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Actually, marrow donation has gotten a LOT safer and less painful in the last decade. However, doing this requires giving me drugs for a week that are supposed to make me generally tired and extremely achey. I'll definitely keep reading—just don't know if I'll have the mental energy to post 4x/day like my normal manic self.

I'm having a lot of fun with the way you guys solve problems. It's nice to see a party with such high Int/Wis/Cha really roleplay it out. I've also tried to run this game differently than a normal campaign—instead of throwing obstacles to target your weaknesses or put the party in moral peril, I'm throwing out obstacles I think your enemies would find reasonable (and I would find hilarious), and seeing how creative the party can get about murdering them.

Also, Archery Ranger > Zen Archer. At the end of Mummy's Mask, the GM threw the final boss at us in the same room as two golems and a CR 20 outsider, and my (only mildly optimized) ranger wiped the entire encounter in a single round. Then we tried it again, and our Kensai also one-shotted the boss, because there are many broken archetypes.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Not sure if my edit was seen, but what is Illia's AoE ability she keeps using?

Only thing I see that she has at will of is Unholy Blight, which doesn't harm evil characters.

Circle of Razor Feathers.

The nice Aboleth keep providing me with immediate action recovery on my maneuvers.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Eh? How so? I don't really know the other two martial classes that well, so I'm curious.

Status:
Warlord 9 HP 251/251 | AC 46 | T 29 | FF 38 | F +33 | R +34 | W +32 | Init +11 | Per +32 | SR 28

I've got a recovery mechanic that procs on fort/will saves. The Aboleth can't turn off their slime aura, which procs per round.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Don't worry, Illia-, they'll figure that out eventually. I'm figuring you kill 50, maybe 100 of these guys tops before they catch on.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I'm not sure that works, since Unbreakable says "The effect in question must be a harmless effect on a failed saving throw", which I do not believe the mucus cloud is. Unless I totally misread that.

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

It's harmless to her, I think. Or do immunities not factor in?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

RAW, Unbreakable Gambit is broken (in the sense of "useless") since technically a "harmless effect" refers only to beneficial spells (e.g. Owl's Wisdom, CLW). Instead, I will interpret it as one of two ways:

1: An effect which cannot deal damage
2: An effect which has no effect on a SUCCESFUL saving throw

Take your pick, Illia-!

Status:
Warlord 9 HP 251/251 | AC 46 | T 29 | FF 38 | F +33 | R +34 | W +32 | Init +11 | Per +32 | SR 28

Two please. I'll have to find some way to get Stalwart later. :P

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Err, RAW it does seem coded to the effect itself, not your resistances. So for instance, Aboleth Slime is valid, Chill Touch isn't, etc.

M Human Lich Cleric 3+2 / Warder (ZS) 4+2 / Battle Templar 3 / Lich +2

sorry about the lack of posts, got my 2.25 tons of household goods shipped and have been sorting out everything, putting it in its place, and throwing out some old stuff.

havent been on the computer much at all, only logged on because i have to complete a class in the next 4 hours.

will post later if it is my turn. not really sure what is around me, from what i understand anaxian's mind is in the crab and i am riding the big dragon body

Drat, well, I'm only Mostly Invincible then. :P

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Can't wait for the next level+downtime, as I will be retraining Skill Focus to pick up Extra Stalker Art and grab the one that increases my Deadly Strike damage, which also goes up at 5th level.

Does anybody know if its possible(aside from the Weapon Mastery capstone) to increase a weapon's crit multiplier at all? Deadly Strike's damage goes up in die size based on that.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Be a bolt ace gunslinger. There's also a 3pp feat but I don't think it's a balanced publisher iirc.

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

We could always turn Shimsil into a Naginata

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Nah, its not that important. I likely am going to take the Umbral Blade PrC in two levels, and I need to be using a Veiled Moon weapon.

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

I'm really glad the Master of Souls is here to join us. This is going to be fun.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

There are 6 masters, as I believed was mentioned. You've met four, and killed two of those.
