Male Halfling Paladin 4

So is that a gem being used to buy myself the gear I am starting with? And the longsword, is it usable by a small character without a -2 penalty or was it designed for use by a medium creature?

Male Halfling Paladin 4

Herpaderp, just reread the post on a bigger screen and seen everything i needed to know. Please ignore my previous comments. :D

I believe the classes can be 'too confining' at times. There is no problem with Terion continuing to be a straight fighter and serve a higher purpose. I would allow the events that affect your character to shape you and influence you but not define you.

Iomedae appreciates martial prowess, so there is no doubt she smiles upon the fighter class.

Male Human Per +3

Ok, so straight fighter it is - no fighter/ranger, or fighter/cleric then? :D

Male Halfling Paladin 4

I have a ton of healing thanks to the lay on hands, and have bought some potions to help. In a pinch it will do,but having more healing isn't a terrible idea. If I might suggest just getting a wand of healing or something rather than actually going down the cleric route though, as having the additional feats etc that you have as a fighter is imho more valuable.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I'm multi-classing as well, so it isn't disallowed that I know... of course, a higher roll on a d20 would be appreciated. Ama's about to eschew all weapons and start at the beginning-- a staff.

Male Human Per +3

Ranger, much more than cleric, has a good sinergy with fighter - and let us not forget that we do have a cleric - in fact, Ama is the one responsible for Terion still being around [apart from Iomedae of course :D).

That being said, a couple of ranger levels would probably bring a good set of skills to the table, which would complement the group, without losing the fighting capability.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

HD roll for Ama: HP: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human Per +3

Ama, you going monk?

Another thing that may hurt my ranger progression is the low Wisdom, though level 2 spells would not be too shabby at all, if he ever gets there.

Or I can simply stay fighter - truth is, feats ARE the bomb :D

Male Human Per +3

By the way GM Tribute, two things:

- Not that being able to keep ma boy Terion isn't reward enough but... Did we get any loot? :D

[By the way guys, I will be going through Magn and Felgarr gear to see what we can use - assuming their aliases are still in place - since we did bring their gear along ;)]

- I am not familiar with the module we are playing, and I have said this before, but I hope you are planning to continue this into other modules. And that being the case, do you have already anything in store for us? Just curious ;)

Negative. Ama is alternating Monk and Cleric.

Ah, alternate Ranger options are in the APG, I forgot we were using just core.

Male Human Per +3

Well, if multiclass is available, I think I am going Fighter/Ranger - I don't think it will harm combat progression, and will offer me some additional goodies - if GM Tribute is ok with it of course :D

Male Human Per +3

I took a look at everyone's character, and it seems that the only Knowledge we are missing is Nature - will get Terion that one.

Male Human Per +3

Are we rolling hit points?

1d10 ⇒ 9

Sweeeeet....

As I said, I took a look at the gear from Felgarr and Magnhlidr - GM Tribute informed we had kept it - the list follows below. I have signaled what Terion would want. You guys let me know what you want, so I can list what can be sold. If you wish any of the gear signed by Terion let me know and we decide.

Felgarr

Gear:
Flail,
Guisarme,
Light Crossbow,
20 bolts,
Banded Mail,
Heavy Steel Shield,
Backpack,
Bedroll,
Waterskin,
50 gp

Magnhlidr

Gear:
Masterwork Chainmail,
Masterwork Glaive, <- Terion
Masterwork Greatsword,
Artisan's tools (Craft [armor]),
Artisan's tools (Craft [weapons]),
Backpack (8 @ 30 lbs),
Belt pouch (2 @ 0.24 lbs),
Crowbar, <- Terion
Flint and steel,
Grappling hook, <- Terion
Holy Symbol ofDesna,
Silk rope, <- Terion
Trail rations (2),
Waterskin, 12 GP

I do not know if we got any other loot besides this...

Male Halfling Paladin 4

The masterwork chainmail might be really nice for Cole, but he is new to the party, and the armour is most likely designed for a medium creature.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Ama donated the glaives she had (initial and second) back to the temple, picked up a staff, sold her initial armor (to repay the elves), and is currently sitting on it. I suspect the group will meet and inventory before heading out again. Please feel free to suggest additions.

I totally forgot Ama regained her crossbow on the 2nd floor.

Male Gnome Wizard (Illusionist) 3 (HP: 21/21 | AC 12(16)/12/11(15) | F+3, R+5, W+5 (+2 vs. illusions) | Initiative +1, Perception +7)

Sorry all, still traveling. I'll try to think about Bizzle's new spells.

Male Human Per +3

Cole, if no one wishes to claim it, I am perfectly fine with you taking the masterwork chainmail ;)

If no one else wants stuff from the gear above, I'll do the math, and find out the group share (assuming we can sell them at the usual half price).

Male Halfling Paladin 4

The chainmail is worth an awful lot to me, as its slightly better than the stuff that I already have. I will happily sacrifice my share of this part of loot that is sold in order to buy the armour off the group if that makes sense.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Terion, I believe the inn is the inn of a different city.

The mwork chain is medium and can be refitted to small for gp cost: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 x10

Besides the list given, there are greatswords, swortswords, shields and light crossbows that add up to 200 gp when sold.

Male Halfling Paladin 4

I have some gold left over which I believe is enough to cover the upgrade to masterwork. Thanks chainmail.

Male Human Per +3

My bad if I understood that we were in the same town ;)

Ok guys, no one is claiming anything else - the Masterwork Chainmail goes to Cole, and we are selling the rest.

Final list (Item and value sold for in gold):

From Felgarr

Flail 4
Guisarme 4.5
Light Crossbow 17.5
20 bolts 0.5
Banded Mail 125
Heavy Steel Shield 10
Backpack 1
Waterskin 0.5
50 gp

From Magnhlidr
Masterwork Chainmail <- Cole
Masterwork Glaive, <- Terion
Masterwork Greatsword,  175
Artisan's tools (Craft [armor]) 2.5
Artisan's tools (Craft [weapons]) 2.5
Backpack (8 @ 30 lbs) 1
Belt pouch (2 @ 0.24 lbs) 0.5
Crowbar, <- Terion
Flint and steel 0.5
Grappling hook, <- Terion
Silk rope, <- Terion
Waterski 0.5
12 gold

Total from sales: 407.5 + 200 = 607.5

- Divided by:
Ama
Terion
Strang
Bizzlemont

Total each: 151,87 gold (or 151gold, 8silver, 7copper)

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Huh.. 150 gold.. *goes shopping*

Male Human Per +3

Terion is ready to move out.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Still here. I figure if the group has gathered from where Terion was, Ama is still trying to get a hold of herself and sort out what she wants. "Prayer and Meditation" and such.

Male Halfling Paladin 4

Yeah that came across nicely actually. I liked reading the internal thought process.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

If Ama could have been a summoner, the player would be her Eidolon.. talk about amusing confusion.

"But you were a dog yesterday!"

"You're yelling at me like I'm supposed to understand how this happened? You summoned me!"

Safe travels.

Strang-- u leveled?

Male Halfling Paladin 4

Cole is more than ready to move out and kick some ass.

We will hit the dungeon tomorrow night. People may be traveling and we still have Strang to level up to 3. Pick your spells too.

Male Human Per +3

Still undecisive on going ranger multiclass but... MOVE OUT!

Male Halfling Paladin 4

Ranger multiclass is not bad, but in my opinion not worth it for a one level dip. You would gain the same BAB, and that is about it. In order to get something like the animal companion you are looking at 4 levels, which is bloody ages in a PBP setting, and you lose out on the fighter specific stuff which is pretty amazing in my opinion. Its up to you obviously, but imho it isn't really worth it due to the trade off where you lose a lot of feats etc, and don't really gain a lot.

Male Gnome Wizard (Illusionist) 3 (HP: 21/21 | AC 12(16)/12/11(15) | F+3, R+5, W+5 (+2 vs. illusions) | Initiative +1, Perception +7)

Ack. Sorry, meant to post last night. Bizzlemont definitely wants to buy some scrolls and that wand. Is it too late?

-Posted with Wayfinder

Nope--Add them

Male Gnome Wizard (Illusionist) 3 (HP: 21/21 | AC 12(16)/12/11(15) | F+3, R+5, W+5 (+2 vs. illusions) | Initiative +1, Perception +7)

Bizzlemont buys the wand (80gp) and the following scrolls:

1st:
Grease
Charm Person
Feather Fall
Comprehend Languages
Identify
Magic Weapon
--6*22.5=135

2nd:
Hideous Laughter
Invisibility
See Invisibility
Mirror image
--4*135=504

Total: 80+135+504=719gp

Taking 10 on his Spellcraft rolls will let the gnome add all the spells to his spellbook.

Let us see who is back with us. Post in the gameplay thread. Bizzle has noticed the chain is not so long.

If we have some attrition, maybe someone will be careless walking along the wall?

Male Human Per +3

Post coming up ;)

Male Halfling Paladin 4

Cool, moved myself on the map to my new position if thats ok.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Of course.. Of course. Why should Ama be doing better just because they got away from the dungeon for a bit? *headdesk* By the way, please feel free to roll any reflex saves like that for me. Posting one roll just seems so improper to me.

HP 36/36 | Per +9, Traps +1 | CMB +6 | CMD 16, AC 18, Touch 15, Flat 15 | Fort +4, Ref +8, Will +2

hp: 1d8 ⇒ 6

My apologies for the delay; my spare time at work has completely disappeared and it's final exams time for my evening classes and otherwise lots of excuses about every night I intended to fulfill my obligations but then failed to do so.

Just to let you know--I am doing a rangers campaign. Follow this alias and see if it interests you. The recruiting is the campaign!

Male Human Per +3

Is it a rangers only campaign? I am definitely going to take a look for sure, it is one of my preferred classes.

Male Halfling Paladin 4

How dead is everyone?

Male Human Per +3

I think we are all alive Cole.

GM Tribute, I would like to see this continuing forward. The game is not the fastest paced I have been in, but it is consistent, and fast paced is not always a good thing, because it can alienate some of the players - if everyone is on the same page it can work perfectly fine the way it is. At least that is my opinion.

As for the game itself:

- For me, it is a pleasure to revisit the gold of D&D and AD&D modules, and I could do it forever. There are a lot of classics that I never got the opportunity to play. I am a sucker for the massive ones byt the way - Night Below, City of the Spider Queen, Tomb of HOrrors, Return to the Tomb of Horrors - I could go on :D

- I think you are right in asking for a moment's ponder regarding our game - while, as I said above, we do not need a frantic pace, we do need everyone to chip in, mainly during combats. If there is a round when one of us does not act, it becomes a problem;

- Ramne really did burst out in power by the end of the game, and I got the feeling you added him there to help us survive - am I correct in that assumption? Or was it simply as supposed to be?

- If you think our group needs re-balancing, I am all in favour of that. I would even go as far as dropping Terion (and I guess by now everyone has understood I like the character - Heck! I LOVE fighters) for another that would balance us further if necessary;

- If we do go forward, my opinion is that you, GM Tribute, should be the one deciding what to play next, since as a GM you really need to enjoy what you are GMing, or it becomes a dull game. However, if you could present us a list of your choices, perhaps we could vote on it? :D

All in all, I am having great fun with this, and hope it continues.

Those are my two cents.

Ramne is part of the module.

As a lvl 7 wizard he is critical to give any chance in the final encounter vs 7d6 fireballs.

His aid is supposed to not make the party overreliant on him. He is mostly to save his spells for his Nemesis.

Male Human Per +3

Ok then, that satisfies my curiosity - I also got the feeling that without him there we would be toast, though in the end he was the one almost killing me :D

So, what's next?

Male Halfling Paladin 4

A slower paced game is better for me also, as university comes first for me, and if we were to have 20 or 30 posts a day then I would soon fall far behind.

I believe that we have hit the right balance in regards to speed. With regards to character classes, I cannot see any immediate weaknesses, but then again I haven't been with the group for long.

I will more than happily play any and all modules.

Next up was Mayfairs Swordthrust. Another classic.

Let us make sure we have everyone in. We can always recruit more.

Note: treasure distribution would than be relevant.

who is in?

Male Human Per +3

I am in so... Gimme the loot! ;)
