Sakitu tilts her head to the side and scrunches up her furry nose. "Ok. I think I kind of understood what you were saying. You said something about this being a large area down below us. And then that it will both be light and dark. Ok. I guess." Sakitu slings her pack over her shoulder and starts down the tunnel. Just as she does so she hears signs of more combat ahead.

"Oh great. Already?"

She gets her bow ready and nocks an arrow as she continues to move down the narrow passage.

Quasit climbs over the frost giant, expecting to see some cute but deadly flute playing fey on the other side. Instead she sees a slack-jawed quivering Findurel and a goop of mouths and guts and fire schlooping down the hall toward them.

"What in the Nine Hells is that?" she says in horror.

"Maka! Kill it! Kill it with fire!"

Maka immediately let loose a gout of flames, never having to be told twice to do anything with fire.

Bulvi seems to be mouthing words silently until Fin returns. As the elf called out to warn of the foes presence Bulvi lifts his bow and looses the string.

Maka's fire seems to have no affect on the creature. Similarly, Bulvi's longbow is unable to connect. Tezuzu isn't sure what the thing is. The creatures insides go back where they belong as the thing continues to advance with slow determination.

Round one: Party up. Creature double moved. Map updated. I had the slide down further than it should have been. It's now the first one. Sorry about that.

, DC 23]The thing is called an Azgenzak and as you have seen it is not going to be hurt by fire and you suspect that poison will be of no use against it. It isn't very fast, but has a variety of attacks - one which you think involves burning. Will post additional details depending on check.

I am assuming this thing either passed it's save the slumber hex or is immune to sleep?

Tezuzu begins to look a little worried as the creature seems to ignore Maka's fire as it continues to advance. "I sure wish there was a nice fresh giant corpse between this thing and us!" he jokes sarcastically a tinge of fear in his voice as he focuses on it cursing it again a laugh escaping his beak before forming itself into a eerie cawing as it echo's spreads throughout the tunnel.

Although the creature continues to resist Tezuzu's magics, Quasit is able to finish the creature off - which then proceeds to explode - its burning slime spreading over nearly the entire party.

Fin, still a bit shaky, manages to avoid the worst of the damage from the exploding creature...finding the slime that hits him still burning him, he takes his scarf and cleans the slime off...

He nods in appreciation to Quasit. "Th-th-thanks, Q...'preciate it...th-that...thing...shook me up a bit...I may need a minute or so to compose myself..."

While he waits to gather his wits, Fin manages to check out, but not open, the door he's next to...

Also, combat is over. If you have one of the no dmg when you save feats you don't take the ongoing damage. Otherwise, yes you take half dmg (1) and ongoing damage (3) until you take the time to clean off the stuff.

Yang howls as the putrid burning slime clings to his fur. Tezuzu quickly unlatches his cloak and tosses it over Yang with one arm remaining calm even as the slime burns through some of his own feathers as he pulls out his waterskin with his other claw. Yang rolls back and forth on the ground yipping wildly covered in the cloak.

R1: Tez Removes cloak tosses it over Yang while drawing his waterskin. Yang Full-round puts out the fire. 3 damage to Yang.
R2: Tez uses his waterskin to remove the burning slime. 4 damage to Tez total. Due to spending a round providing a means to put out the fire on Yang.

He douses himself in water as he begins to rub the disgusting burning slime off himself.

After the burning slime has been put out he pulls the cloak off Yang drawing his wand "I know old friend that was quite unpleasant." CLW wand, Yang: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

As the ring he borrowed from Bulvi begins to tend to his own wounds Tez neurotically begins to inspect his cloak and robes as he curses in Tengu under his breath adding "....And now I smell like the inside of a burning pile of sludge. What a pleasant way to start the morning. This better wash out." he grumbles.

If anyone receives 5 or over damage cumulative Tez will reflexively heal anyone for 5 damage and take that same amount of damage at the start of his turn due to life link. Otherwise he will use his wand should anyone ask, but in the immediate aftermath he's more concerned for his pet and the state of his clothes than the rest of the groups minor injuries so he will overlook it until he is snapped out of his own self absorbed concerns and notices.

When the brown fire sludge blows up, Quasit gives a little shriek and agilely throws herself flat against the nearby wall, neatly dodging the gouts of liquid fire. Evasion!

"Guh-ross! Nobody told me there'd be burning poop pimples in here!" she says, laughing at the absurdity of it, now that the danger was passed. She pulls out a water skin and stands ready to aid anyone in wiping off the fire goo. "I wonder if those giants were running from that nasty thing. Blech!"

"Ow! Careful, you've got burning poop on you!" says Quasit as she tries to wriggle free of Maka's grasp. She's still giggling at the silliness of the situation, dangerous as it was.

"I barely touched the thing. I musta just caught the right spot somehow." she says with a phony aw-shucks shrug and a twirl of her sword as she re-holsters it. "Yup. Just doin' my bit." She's obviously pleased as punch that she had the killing blow.

Starting to feel more like himself, Fin nods towards Quasit and then the door...

In addition to the sound of music, the nearby door appears to be locked. Just over one hundred feet further down the passage Findurel encounters another similarly shaped passage where he can either continue forward or take a look at another branch to his left.

Fin shrugs and returns. "As you wish...can you pick the lock, Q?"

As rolling die every time would be tedious, I'll just take 10 while scouting in these caverns when not under duress, if that's OK by you. That way, it'll be consistent and easier to recall at any given time. When I'm in a specific room, I'll continue to roll a Perception check...

"What happened?" she asks before seeing the pile of goo on the tunnel floor. "Oh. Nevermind. I don't think I want to know." Sakitu barely avoids nausea.

"Is that music? Who would be playing music down here." Sakitu looks around nervously. "This place scares me."

"We have one thing going for us. We're technically Baba Yaga's allies, and she made this place to guard the keys that run her Chicken Hut. And those other guys are clearly not on her side. I don't expect the guardians in here to welcome us, but we might be able to reason with some of them, like we did with Mr Iobarian Freedom Fighter back in the Hut."

She gives Sakitu's shoulder fur a quick encouraging rub. "Just try to play cool and act like you belong here. And if you spot a dragon, rainbow dazzle his scaly ass!"

Quasit it quite surprised when the locks seems to offer a bit of resistance before giving way and clicking open. Beyond the door is another passage that leads to a natural cavern that is warm and humid.

The stench of the stagnant water ahead rushes through the now open door, assaulting the party's senses.

Proceed?:
Wisps of water vapor hover just above the floor, somewhat concealing a swampy morass of fungus. In some areas of the cave, large lumpy piles of fungus rise from the slop like fetid islands, and long, rubbery fungal strands hang from the ceiling and walls.

As Findurel advances the music softens. Wisps of water vapor hover just above the floor, somewhat concealing a swampy morass of fungus. In some areas of the cave, large lumpy piles of fungus rise from the slop like fetid islands, and long, rubbery fungal strands hang from the ceiling and walls. The party watches Findurel continue his advance after pausing briefly.

Selena sticks to the back of the group, having decided to watch the rear but also the oft forgotten heights by keeping an eye on the ceiling and high places. Occasionally having the servant take the light up to hard to see corners.

With the swampy area, Selena avoids anything wet and gross. Mostly because she doesn't want to get wet and dirty, but also because plants, especially mycelium types, are commonly poisonous and so would rather assume poison than safe, especially given that they are in a dungeon designed to kill the unworthy.

Note, in places like this, any light Selena makes will be red so as to not ruin anybody's eye's adjustment to the dark.

"If you're going to follow you might value the company." Tezuzu chirps quietly. "Besides, your magical wards protect Yang and myself so I shall do the same in turn."

As Findurel continues forward he plunges into the moss, which was apparently covering an equally life ridden pool of water. A ravenous purple maw and whipping vines immediately bite and lash at him. You can see its thick trunk is capped by a crown of wide leave and mushrooms. Not only does the thing manage to bite into Findurel savagely, breaking him from whatever force was effecting him, but grabs the elf in its powerful maw lashing him with one of its vines.

Combat has begun. Findurel is grappled and has taken 23 damage. Find and Quasit will have a chance to share words prior to him plunging into the pool.

Round One: Selena and Quasit are up. For this first round I am structuring initiative based on who posted just for sake of consistency of previous actions. Then we'll go back to block initiative.

"Come on, fight it Fin!" says Quasit more urgently now, throughly alarmed. She grabs hold of the back the elf's tunic to try and slow his forward movement.

But then the plant monster rears up and chomps into him, dragging him from her grasp. More on impulse then anything, she charges forward, whipping out her sword.

"Let him go!" she shouts at the malicious vines, then hacks at them like stubborn undergrowth, trying to cut Findurel loose.

Selena doesn't trust a stranger who could have spoken a warning but didn't when they suddenly claim friendship, so she readies a dispel magic to counterspell any spell they (the flying fellow claiming friendship) try to cast, or as a targeted dispel to dispel any enchantments on them if they try to flee instead.

Was gonna attack at -2 but forgot I cannot fire my bow as grappling prevents me from doing anything that requires two hands...so I've got to try to escape and move back where I can use my bow...

As he grimaces in pain and snaps out of whatever spell he was in, seeing Quasit boldly charge to his aid, Fin tries to use what time she has brought him. He wiggles and waggles to try and escape the plant's grasp...

...and, if successful, the Elf makes an acrobatic move to avoid an AoO from the creature, moving away to have room to fire his bow...

Seeing the flying dude’s affect on Quasit, Fin yells, "Q, IGNORE HIM! HE CAST THE SPELL ON ME! GET OUT OF THERE!"

As/if he reaches the hallway, he yells back to the rest of his friends, "COME QUICKLY OR WE'RE SCREWED! MAKA, LIGHT THIS OVERGROWN CABBAGE UP!!!"

Though Quasit is able to land a hit on the creature, it doesn't seem to help Findurel in his attempt to escape. The handsome, grinning man continues to fly about the fray, he keeps looking toward the creature while turning his head now and then to address Quasit, the curling ram horns extending from his temples point in whichever direction he looks. He moves his furry goat legs moving quickly to avoid vines. set of curling ram horns extending from his temples. "My apologies, I did not hear your elf friend coming this way. I would have warned him had I known."
