The feast is a delicious feast.
Heck you even have some Boar jerky for tomorrow.
Male Human Wizard 2
Halloran will invite Bokken to share in the meal.
Male Elf Ranger
While eating the meal, Silstaren looks over the brightly burning fire at his companions. Halloran, the brave resourceful mage. Elaine who moved in the forest like she was an integral part of it. Kind-hearted Alkaid the redeemer of lost souls. Bokken the odd hermit.
A log in the fire splits open releasing a fountain of sparks that weave upward before winking out among the everlasting sparks that are the stars.
Mikka, Asok, Buckwell, Eamon, Hod, Royston. The sparks that winked out.
This country is a land of partings. Sorrow is bound in its fabric. Perhaps the men of Brevoy will not wrest it from the wild. Perhaps the bonds that hold them together will dissolve and they will scatter and wink out and only the land will remain, as it has ever been.
The thought is oddly cheering.
Silstaren stands and bows formally to Halloran. "My mother's sister was the finest cook among the villages within three days of summer travel. Tonight you have surpassed even her."
so anyone taking the night watch, or a night shift?
Male Human Wizard 2
Halloran waves aside Silstaren's praise, Your gratitude is more than thanks enough my friend, but give yourself some credit for tonight's meal, a craftsman is only as good as his tools. And I could not have crafted half so fine a meal if you and Elaine, he says with a nod to the druid, had not found such fine ingredients for me to work with.
Standing up Halloran looks around, Even tough we have Bokken's home here, it would probably be a good idea to set a watch just in case, as usual I volunteer for 3rd watch.
Elaine says "I feel like taking first watch tonight"
Male Elf Ranger
Silstaren takes the middle watch.
Alkaid takes the last watch.
Elaine perception check please
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Perception check
You don't see anything, but get the feeling of being watched.
Since Elaine feels like she is being watched she will use the spirit sense ability to see if she senses any spirits watching her.
Nothing on the spirit sense.
Male Human Wizard 2
Since I assume Halloran is still sleeping, he probably snores.
Eliane will get her signal whistle out and be ready to blow it if anything moves nearby or closer to her.
Eliane roll two perception checks.
gm 3
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10perception checks
GM
Ouch, you misses the first one by 3
Quickly out from the tall grass comes a pouncing Lion
atk:Claw1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
atk:Claw2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Claw1: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Claw2: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Male Elf Ranger
Straight Initiative, Perception check to wake up.
Perception check for those sleeping, (with a -20 due to sleeping)
Male Elf Ranger
Perception 1d20 + 9 - 20 ⇒ (6) + 9 - 20 = -5
Hopefully that lion roars really loudly or Elaine's whistle is super shrill.
Eliane will blow her whistle. after taking a step back.
Male Human Wizard 2
1d20 + 3 - 20 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 20 = 1
Do I get a bonus for Elaine's whistle?
No, but Eliane did lower the DC.
Male Human Wizard 2
So does Halloran wake up?
Yep, I made a mistake on the sleep modifier it was -10, not -20.
Male Human Wizard 2
Initiative Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
GM
The lion is temporary confused by the whistle.
Merry Christmas and A happy New Year
Male Human Wizard 2
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Male Elf Ranger
Slow posting for me until after Christmas. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
is everyone waiting for me? and are there plants around?
PC's turn, and yes there is plants/grass.
Male Human Wizard 2
My low initiative illustrates Halloran waking up, so Elaine would probably go first, since she was awake and on watch.
Male Elf Ranger
As far as I know Sil's asleep
Elaine will cast entangle on the lion and try to wake the other pcs up.
Male Human Wizard 2
Assuming he's awake, Halloran will stand up.
standing up from prone is a move action.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
And the cat is entangled.
Male Human Wizard 2
Taking in the situation, Halloran casts Sleep on the lion.
DC 14 will save, or it falls asleep for 2 minutes.
GM
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Sleepy time.
And the lion falls a sleep.
Male Human Wizard 2
Halloran moves over to Elaine, Are you alright? he asks.
Eliane quietly says " a little hurt."
Male Human Wizard 2
Glancing at the sleeping lion Halloran says, I don't know how long your spell lasts, but mine is only good for a couple of minutes. Let's wake the others so we can be ready for when it wakes up, I'll wake Silstaren and you can wake Alkaid, that way she can heal you.
Halloran moves over to Silstaren and shakes him saying, Silstaren, wake up.
Male Elf Ranger
Silstaren wakes groggily from what must have been a very deep slumber. When Halloran explains the situation, the elf snatches up his long curves sword.
"We should all strike it at once. A lion is too powerful a beast to risk any other course. "
I propose a mass coup de grace.
Seeing what Elaine does...
Male Human Wizard 2
Halloran reluctantly takes up his staff, Do we have to kill it? It's probably just hungry and was attracted by the smell of our boar roast, if we gave it some meat maybe it would leave us alone.
Male Elf Ranger
Silstaren thinks.
"If you value the beast's life enough to take the hazard, I will try it. But feeding it will each it to associate food with men."
Male Human Wizard 2
Hunger drives us all, in one way or another. Halloran says.
Halloran will take some of the leftover boar meat, either the parts they didn't eat, or the parts he didn't cook, whichever is greater and place it by the lion's head, so it will be the first thing it sees when it wakes up.
He will then back up about 20 ft. and ready a spell just in case. Give it some room, he calls to the others, it will probably be disoriented when it wakes up, I want it focusing on the meat not us and a clear field of fire in case it decides to attack again.
Eliane says [b]"I think it can finish it while it is asleep. We don't want it approaching someone else to get more food. "[b]
