Bhoors Thistledown |
Bhoors looks down at Elandil singing, "I get knocked down but I get up again."
Healing word: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Bhoors the launches himself at the nearby genasi.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Is there anyway Inspiration can add a knock back component here?

Bhoors, bull rush in 5e (called Shove) is an athletics check in place of an attack to shove 5ft. You just killed him, so it would be a bit sadistic. XD
With the words of encouragement stirring healing magics in the air, Bhoors quickly defends the fallen with a masterful thrust of his rapier. The genasi shrieks in pain, his kidney pierced, and topples down the little hill over and over...tumbling 360 what seems like an un-ordinary amount of times.
Abrel Deadrose |
Oops, you're right, just the Second Wind then. I forgot to note the Action Surge use.
Elandil Blackleaf |
Omg, can I reject the healing? Haha
If the cultist could see it, he would see he was right to be unnerved. Elandil's broken body pushes the crystal javelin out and knits the wound back together leaving only a scratch. Taking account of the situation he rises with a grunt and advances toward the floating rock path nodding thanks to his savior. Once in position he weaves together a spell as frost begins to form on the priestess.
Half movement (15ft) to stand the rest to move. Action to cast frostbite on purple. DC 13 con save or have disadvantage on next attack and take cold damage
frostbite: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Abrel Deadrose |
Oh yeah! I forgot! Can we use my second roll as the faerie fire advantage?
GM Infinity |
Con vs Elandil: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Elandil's spell unerringly finds the spider climbing priest, the grasp on her glaive begins to thicken with soft white ice, condensing the cavern air in long trails of smoke.
Round 3:
Shal
Robed Cultist, Priest
Cole, Davin, El, Bhoors, Abrel <--UP
Cultists, Xorn
Murss, Dwarves
Davin Grey |
LOL you called me Molok!!! Glad he has left an impression on you
Feeling a sudden release of the spell that was slowing him down, Davin moves to a location where he can fire at the priest easily.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Action Surge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Shadow Arrow: A creature hit by the arrow takes an extra 2d6 psychic damage, and must succeed on a WIS saving throw (DC 10) or be unable to see anything farther than 5 ft. away until the start of your next turn.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
GM Infinity |
Wis vs Davin: 1d20 ⇒ 19
This time the priest was ready for it, ducking behind the altar at the last second. The arrow struck despite the cover, but its magics were deflected.
Molok/Davin, lol yeah I guess playing with you for a year has burned it into my brain.
Round 3:
Shal
Robed Cultist, Priest

Bhoors Thistledown |
Bhoors looks over at Cole, "Seriously." He looks back at Shal. "We need a medic. I'm a sorry stand in for a priest."
GM Infinity |
Nearly dead, Cole gathers his last strength and leaps into the rocky muscles with all hes got. He feels the rapier's point pierce some kind of balloon-like organ inside the body, and the xorn's odd eye rolls back in its skull! It starts vomiting rough sapphires and half-cracked rubies in a fit of nasty death throes.
The dwarves cheer and seeing the party start to advance up to the women above from the east, take the other western path.
Murssavayas, with one eye always on the Stonemelder, approaches Abrel and taps him on the back, poking a feather nearly up his nostril "Take flight, surface warrior. Let us see what the academies* above are teaching these days..."
Abrel, you feel the magic washing over you, and perhaps you've read of it or experienced it before. You can fly. 60 ft, depends on Murss' concentration.
*In drow culture, the Academy is where the warrior class goes to train for 10 years before their required patrol duties. Most notably, there's an annual competition, a kind of massive free for all, last man standing style.
GM Infinity |
Red is a female robed cultist the drow has called a "stonemelder", and seems to be some kind of arcane caster. She cast the earthen grasp spell the first round to restrain you. Purple is the priest, yes.
Round 4:
Shal <--UP
Robed Cultist, Priest
Cole, Davin, El, Bhoors, Abrel
Murss, Dwarves
Shaldinari Vec |
"You're doing a fine job keeping everyone in fighting shape." Shaldinari says to Bhoors. "Nobody's died....yet" She adds, her eyes flicking to the bloody and battered forms of Abrel and Cole as the xorn falls to the rogues final blow. "But if you're feeling plucky, you could see if yonder priestess of Ogremoch would care to heal up our little band of hardy souls. Maybe woo her with some of your special love poems or lute playing." She adds with a wry chuckle.
Popping out from cover, the elven witch can't see a clear shot at the priestess as the cultist scurries into hiding. So instead Shaldinari tries again to knock the mage from his perch as another blast of fae energy streaks from her hand toward the cultist caster.
Repelling Eldritch Blast Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 5 plus 10' knockback
GM Infinity |
This time, Shal hits the Stonemelder dead center, lifting her off her feet and stumbling, teetering on the edge of the hovering granite...
I'll give her an acrobatics save, because I would do the same if a player was in this situation.
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 7
...but she is too startled to catch herself, and comes tumbling down hard, letting out a silly audible "Woah!"
Fall Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
*splat* She lands just near Cole, prone, nearly striking him.
GM Infinity |
The Stonemelder stands, enraged, not bothering to brush off the sparkling wet sands of the creek bed. The Cyst begins to rumble as she slowly steps forward, the tremors intensifying at Shals feet in particular, eyes glowing a bright yellow like sodium crystals...
...but Murssavayas knew this was coming and is quick to intercept the energies. Thin strands of webbing loop and curve like quick growing vines, grabbing every earthen particle and dampening its vibrations again until the earth is once again still. 3d12 erupting earth to Davin and Shal avoided, Counterspell is no joke.
The priest meanwhile, on her last leg tries to catch Davin and Shal in a small explosion, tiny glittering sands on the walls, floors, and ceiling simulateously shatter sending their razor sharp shards everywhere...
Shatter: 3d8 ⇒ (4, 4, 7) = 15 Con save DC 13 for half, Davin/Shal
Round 4:

Cole, Davin, El, Bhoors, Abrel <--UP
Murss, Dwarves
Abrel Deadrose |
Abrel flies up into the air and flies up level with the priest! Assuming that since the drow cast Fly, the magic weapon spell fades...
With his left hand, the eldritch knight focuses and hurls a bolt of lightning at the priest, and when it strikes the woman, it seems to pull her toward him!
If she fails, she is pulled toward Abrel, if she ends within 5 feet, she takes 1d8 lightning damage.

Shaldinari Vec |
Con Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Feeling the earth around her begin to tremble, Shaldinari quickly wraps her cloak around her head and body for a little extra protection and then ducks and dodges to avoid the worst of the shattering rocks.
HP: 7/15
GM Infinity |
Thanks, the enhancement was lost after the young xorn died, correct.
Strength vs Abrel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
The lightning lash crackles around her wrist like a diamond bracelet, but with one practiced jerk, she shatters the line, dissipating the electrical energies in a spark shower.
Awesome move on the coolness factor scale, hope you get it next time.
Elandil Blackleaf |
Elandil hops from floating rock to floating rock trying to make his way to the priestess. United to balancing on floating rocks he takes a defensive stance.
Ive gone 35ft counting both vertical and horizontal separately. Assuming no movement penalties for moving along the path I've place myself above her I think. If I have used less movement than I think, I wanted to get on the platform she is on and cast thunderwave. Otherwise I'll take the dodge action.
Bhoors Thistledown |

Bhoors repeats a short line about healing.
Healing Word Cole: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Bhoors approaches the priestess, "My girl says I should try to woo you." His arms outstretched casually rapier in still in hand. "Truth be told I's rather bugger a tortle." He snaps forward and leaps into a lunge with the sword aimed at the priestess.
Using Inspiration for Advantage.

Rapier Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

The lunge strikes out at air and he shifts back get his footing ready for the next onslaught. He mumbles, "Tymora I really needed to roll the hard 6 there."

Cole thinks he has the stonemelder right in line with a hefty sword point to the gut, but at the last minute she turns...and with a wave of her hand the blade is caught in mid air by some kind of barrier. She cast shield.
Murssvayas seems displeased "Fool! You are no match for her!" before abandoning you on the ground, teleporting upwards onto where she once stood in a misty haze. He casts a spell, but oddly seems to hold the energies tightly in his fist, the tiny force daggers just begging to be released. Ready to cast magic missile when shield drops
The dwarves, thankful they don't need to parkour up into the sky today, rush along the ground at the stonemelder, likewise ignoring the drow's ramblings...
Dwarf 1 Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Dwarf 2 Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Round 5:

Shaldinari Vec |
Flinging her cloak back, Shaldinari stifles a laugh at the bard's response, then ducks and dashes into the room to get a better angle on the priest. Moving up near one of the dead cultists, she sends a blast of power sailing toward the earth worshipper while also looking to see if she can spot the book.

GM Infinity |
The priest stands defiant, throwing up a thin layer of stone to deflect the eldritch blast at the last moment. Shield Shal uses the distraction to take a good look at the altar and notices Boltsmelter's book and other implements splayed forth on the regal stone.
She slides a bloodied hand across the altar as the soil shield quickly falls and the earth begins to tremble "*pant wheeze* Ogremoch...hears my call...? *pant*" she seems slightly scared when the response is less than lackluster, perhaps her god is abandoning her. Nevertheless, for El and Bhoors the effect is quite resounding...the small floating islands in the area wiggle and rotate quickly, spraying sand everywhere.
Earth Tremor Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 6+prone or dex save dc 13 to negate both
The stonemelder laughs at the priestess "You were never Ogremoch's chosen, Xune..." and mockingly holds up a small clay sculpture that eerily resembles Cole right in his face, before crushing it with a quick grip. A mass of sticky mud erupts from the ground in the shape of a thick slimy hand, lashing out at him...
