Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Ashrem tosses the grappling hook across and catches the railing well this time. He quickly ties the end off on the railing of the Wormwood and deftly climbs across to the stairway directly across the water. Once aboard the enemy ship, he whispers his thanks to the Pirate Goddess and prepares to fight.

HP 10/10, AC 10, Fort+4, Ref +1, Will +3, Scarshield 1/1

This is the last time I ever skip putting ranks in climb…

Allie arrives onboard the Man's promise seconds before the others. She attacks one of the sailors at the ships helm. The sailor, already badly hurt by the stone fired by Ashrem is all but incapable of defending himself and falls to Allie's blade.

One of the surviving sailors is armed with a heavy crossbow which he has just finished reloading. He fires at the shapes coming over the rail in the fog but misses. The bolt whistles past Allies ear and sticks into te Wormwoods mast with a thunk. The other sailors charge you and try to push you over the side.

Sandman and Allende give me a CMD check, and a Reflex check. You both also get an AoO.

Action order from now on
Ashrem
Rahadoumi Sailors
Allie
Amamer
Sandman
Allende

HP 10/10, AC 10, Fort+4, Ref +1, Will +3, Scarshield 1/1

CMD isn't a check normally. It's a static number that sets the DC. Mine is 13. Would you prefer we rolled CMD as an opposed check?

AoO, flail: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

No you are right Sandman no CMD check.

As the sailors charge them Sandman swings his flail at one of the attackers. The metal weight smashes into the side of the sailor's head, caving it in. The Sailor drops dead at his feet.

Thank you for catching that. I forget things like that. Nice crit you all are gonna make short work of these guys.

male Human 2nd Cleric HP 15/15 AC 14

Allende attempts to get his rapier between him and the charging sailor
AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 but he doesn't get the rapier up in time.
CMD is 12
Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Boy that doesn't bode well :(

Ashrem steps up next to Allie and hurls a dagger at the sailor standing alone across the ship.

Allende give me a climb check

GM rolls:

Ashrem's dagger strikes the sailor in the leg causing him to cry out and drop his empty crossbow. He and the sailor that pushed Allende overboard draw shortswords and prepare to defend themselves.

Sandman still had his grapple hooked to the ship. When he saw Alende go over the rail he gritted his teeth and tossed the line over the edge after their overboard crewman. Alende was an able sailor. If he got to the rope fast enough, he'd be clear of the sharks.

Move action, toss the rope down to Alende.

Then he extended his hand and sent a pulse of lethargy toward the man on the far side of the deck.

Standard action: Slumber Hex DC 15 Will save negates.

I forgot to mention it in my last post, but after the slumber hex, I five foot adjust diagonally to help Allie threaten her guy.

male Human 2nd Cleric HP 15/15 AC 14

With a cry of alarm Allende tries to clamor up the side of the ship.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
but he is having difficulty.

The enveloping fog lifts briefly and you can see the full length of the Rahadoumi ship. You can also see Captain Harrigan and two other officers from the Wormwood forcing there way through to the captains cabin below you.

DC 10 perception:
You see a Rahadoumi sailor creeping up behind the Captain. Captain Harrigan is unaware of the sailors presence.

GM rolls:

One of the sailors, struck twice by daggers thrown by Ashrem turns an flees down the stairs to the main deck and disappears into the fog and general Melee. The other Sailor swings at Alle with his shortsword. A swing Allie is easily able to dodge.

Allende you cannot see what is happening on deck so you don't need to roll perception. The rope Sandman dropped you gives you a +5 on your next climb check to get back on board. You have so far managed to escape the notice of the sharks

Not sure what point in the initiative this falls in, but I'd like to Slumber Hex that sneaky fellow, if possible. DC 15 Will save.

GM rolls:

Captain Harrigan hears sandmans shout and turns in time to see his would be attacker slump unconsious to the deck. He turns back and give Sandman a nob before continue on his way.

I am going to let you have that one but you can't cast any spell during this next round

We are currently in round Ashrem, the sailors, Sandman, and Amamer have gone waiting on Allie and Allende. Sandman scratch that you can cast spells this next round. I miss counted actions for this one.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1 : Init +4 | Perc +10| AC 20/ T 14/ FF 16 | HP 50/50| Saves F +4/R +11/W +5

Allie deftly dodges, then strikes again at the remaining sailor:

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 + possible sneak attack damage from flanking, if applicable: 1d6 ⇒ 3

HP 10/10, AC 10, Fort+4, Ref +1, Will +3, Scarshield 1/1

Oh, hmm. I guess I did too. Easy to get confused. I feel like with my AoO crit I've already gotten to do a little more than the rest of the group, so I really don't mind using this round's action to help the captain. The situation is pretty well in hand anyway.

male Human 2nd Cleric HP 15/15 AC 14

With a cry of thanks to Sandman, Allende tries to pull himself aboard with the rope.
Climb at +5: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
The rope does its job and Allende (hopefully) finally arrives at the fight.

Round 8

There is one Rahadoumi sailor remaining on the stern castle of the Man's Promise. Allende has managed to climb back onboard. It is Ashrems turn.

The fog has once again closed in around the ships hiding the ongoing battle from your view and muffling the sound of steel striking steel and the cries of the injured and dying. Allende is able to pull himself dripping over the railing of the ship unharmed by the sharks patroling the dark water.

Male Human (Varisian) Druid (World Walker) 2 HP 15/15

"Allende, get down!" Ashrem cries out as he draws another blade and throws it at the last remaining sailor.

1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 2 = 19
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Ashrem's knife catches the sailor in the throat and he goes down. He will not be getting back up.

"Soooooo, it looks like we've taken the the wheel. Now, we just make sure nobody takes it back, right?" Allie says, hopping down from the ballista and running down the starboard flight of stairs and turning back again to stop at the ship's wheel.

She rests her free hand on the wheel as if intending to steer it, looking out over the mist covered ship.

"We have you bo-at!" she shouts in a mocking sing-song voice. "Come and take it back, if yer man enough!"

HP 10/10, AC 10, Fort+4, Ref +1, Will +3, Scarshield 1/1

Sandman ran to the other side of the stern castle, jumping down the stairs to thud heavily onto the landing.

Readied action, hit the first enemy to come up the stairs.

male Human 2nd Cleric HP 15/15 AC 14

Embarrassed, Allende soggily makes his way to his support position next to Allie. He blesses Allie just in case.

"You look a bit soggy. Didn't lose anything to the sharks, did ya?" She smiles and bumps him playfully with her shoulder.

male Human 2nd Cleric HP 15/15 AC 14

"Nothing but my pride. But you're welcome to check." Allende replies with a wink.

Was waiting on Amamer but we will move on.
