Fernleaf sinks an arrow in the remaining vargouille and it falls to the ground next to Rolande.
Out of combat
Cela make a heal check on Rolande.

With the samples and drawings you will be able to identity the creature back at the Grand Lodge in Absalom...assuming you live to do the research...

Cela roll heal check 1d20+9

Rolande's bite wounds look to be festering. These wounds will not heal naturally and require Cela to make the heal check before they can be healed by magic (spell, wand or potion).
Rolande you have 6 points of bite damage from the nasty Vargouille. To heal and this must be resolved before we end the scenario. If Cela is unable to heal you will need to pay for healing.
Buchart Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Cela Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Fernleaf Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Rolande Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Searching the room you find nothing of particular interest. It seems the large displays are fearsome looking, but harmless. There are two doors in the room on the North wall.
Buchart and Rolande hear what appears to be someone or something cackling madly behind the Eastern door. There is a plaque above the door that reads "Facilities". Fernleaf checks for traps and finds none and the door is unlocked.
Rolande you may want to get those bites looked at before you press forward

Cela inspects Rolande's bites and uses some topical treatment she pulled together to stabilize the wounds. Two charges from her wand brings him to full hitpoints

This simple room of unadorned stone is piled floor to ceiling with boxes and crates, allowing room for only a few small corridors between these towers of dusty, mothballed exhibits.
A search of the crates and room finds nothing of interest.
Mad cackling through the wall from the East ("Facilities") can be heard more clearly here.
East door room or somewhere else?
| GM Pablo |
Fernleaf moves to the East door and the party follows close behind.
Searching he finds no traps and the door is unlocked, so he opens the door and steps inside.
These public restrooms seem to be for the use of visiting clientele. Several stalls are here and a huge cesspool below collects the offal. Mad laughter echoes in this cramped stone chamber. The stench of sewage battles the cold of the mist, but through the haze can be seen smears of blood across the floor, walls, and ceiling, as well as the doors of several stalls.
Fernleaf does not have long to evaluate the situation as a bloody and feces solid ape-man rushes out of a nearby stall cackling madly and attacks. From an adjacent stall a small viper slithers out and heads for the party.

Fernleaf swings wildly missing the ape-man then steps back. Buchart rushes forward and tries to maneuver out of the way, but the ape-man is faster.
Attack of opportunity / Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I sniff the air in disgust and look angrily at the poop ape that has attacked my friends. I run toward the disgusting beast and slam into him punching him with my fists.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Does the slamming and punching count as two moves? As the beast creature I know I have an advantage in that department.
| GM Pablo |
Anaba rushes forward for some ape on ape action and punches her rival with a solid hit. Pulling back her hairy fist with some blood and poo. Did anyone bring the Purell?
The viper moves in and tries to bite Buchart.
