Going to the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade!!! Happy Halloween to one and all, and especially the Subway Sword And Sorcery crew! If you happen to see a person dressed like a scrabble piece with either the letter A or K on it, it's me! :-D

USC got spanked by Oregon, which pretty much puts them out of the running for a National Championship. And I'm guessing that sportscasters everywhere were crying....

What does that do for Boise State, BCS-wise? You know, since they b*@@* slapped Oregon...

Boise is currently 7th in the rankings, behind Florida, Texas, Alabama, Iowa, Cincinnati, and TCU. Considering that two of the top three teams are in the SEC, then one of those is way more than likely going to be in the big game. So, Boise would need Texas, Iowa, Cincinnati, and TCU to lose, while maintaining its own undefeated status.
Either way, it looks like this year belongs to the SEC again, unless Texas can really bring their A game.

Don't worry, Texas is just hitting its stride, and Florida and 'Bama have looked quite mortal in recent weeks (and dependent on friendly officiating...). Also, Texas does have a defense to compete with SEC teams.
Frankly, I'm feeling good about our chances.

I found a fifty dollar bill on the sidewalk on my way home today. Of course, I felt beholden to wait around for a bit to see if anyone would come by looking for it. No one did. Then I got the dumb idea to knock on the door of the house nearby and ask if the owner had lost anything. I would not have told him or her what I found but if the owner found out that he or she was missing $50 I would have handed it over.
Then I thought about how I would react if someone came to my door and asked if I dropped anything but would not not go into any details. I think I spared myself a short conversation with the police by just picking up the money and going home.

Saints won again! And I won $25 on the first quarter! W00T!
Also, the Phillies won again, keeping my hopes alive for winning the $20 bet I made with my mother (who, for some reason, supports the Schmankees).

Are you sure you want Philly to win? If they do, won't it be hard to drive around with all the fire trucks and riot cops speeding everywhere?
;)

Good friends, a good job (despite the horrid hours), a roof over my head, a car that runs with no troubles, a dog that loves me, my bills under control (barely at times, but under control none the less), a char grilled chicken garden salad from chick-fil-a, and a good book to read.

Yesterday I walked into the new game store in town and boom, they tell me that I have won a free book of my choice for being the 100th prson through the door. And they had just gotten their new shipment in and were unpacking Draconomicon II. I thought things like that only happened on television.
