I have been away from the world of Athas too long and am jonesin' for some. Would any folks be interested in doing either the original or second track of modules using the old rules? I can loan some of the materials and the rules can be found online for 2nd edition...
I'd like to revisit the original modules. I have copies of the 2e core books and the DS boxed set as well.
I couldn't DM this time of year, but would be interested in joining as a player.

ANYWAY, I have been pondering how I would want to do this if there is enough interest, all I know for sure is that because they're a total PitA, defilers are out. All other Dark Sun classes and kits are fine (including traders and Templars, since
I am leaning towards the modules set around Nibenay). I don't mind a morally ambiguous party, but prefer more heroic types.
There are other issues I am considering, like handling initiative and chargen. If I get a few more interested parties I will create a real recruitment link and post it in this thread.
I really want to do Dark Sun, but I also really want to do aAD&D just for pure nostalgia reasons, lol, maybe I should have looked for Spelljammer players instead :P

That said, I've tried to join an AD&D game about 3 times recently here with no luck. Seems a lot harder to get going on these boards than 5e.
A couple of folks from one of my favorite PBPs are interested enough that I think I'm just going to create a real recruitment thread and start when I have at least three and leave it open until the party has a max of six. Will post the actual-factual recruitment thread shortly.

I have a few other folks who are interested, so I think hitting three or four to start will be easy. Since I'm planning on letting the characters roam a bit, writing new/replacement characters in shouldn't be too tough.
I just found my old core 2e books and a bunch of other stuff, and found the DS pdf on my hard drive a few weeks ago. I've never played DS, but just began reading up on it the other day. I'd be keen :) I'll check out the recruitment thread.
