That's an interesting list. I already had a couple of those, and I've just picked up a couple more based on your description.

I note there were no adventures in your top ten. Were any considered for selection?

Yay! Been looking forward to this list.

This year, the crunch was VERY good; better than in all previous years.

That being said, the absence of adventures is also due to the "big" players on the list releasing no big modules or less: AAW Games, Playground Adventures and Kobold Press, for example. There was no big Playground Adventure, there was no "Courts of the Shadow Fey"-ish adventure or anthology by Kobold Press...etc.

My candidate list (you can access it at a click on endzeitgeist.com) did include quite a few modules: Jon Brazer Enterprises' Gilded Gauntlet, for example, is one impressive, challenging module. So is their Dragon's Dream. Frog God Games' two Perilous Vistas books, Mountains of Madness and Marshes of Malice also had modules in them and made my candidate list, but ultimately fell slightly short of making the list due to different reasons. They both are great books, though!

Now, my list also does not include books I have not covered; these qualify for this year's list. Stephen Rowe's Starfinder adventures by AAW Games may end up falling into that category. I also had no chance to read The Blight by Frog God Games. I couldn't afford the book or its supplemental material, and I really don't want to read a book of this size on screen. Getting through my hardcover of Northlands Saga, for example, took me ages, and reading on screen is too tiring for such huge books - I'd start making errors, plus, I already spend most of my day in front of the screen.

Hope that explains my choices! :)

Wow.

I’m seriously humbled that my little offering got such an amazing response.

Thank you so much.

Now to get the follow-up finished. You know that old adage about the last 20% of the work? That’s Ultimate Strongholds right now.

Hej Ben - well you totally earned that spot! In another year, your book would actually have probably made an even higher spot! It's a genius way to connect "levels" of gameplay, from individual -> factions -> kingdom building, it allows for whole new tales to be told. What's not to love! :D

Walks through the thread, whistling innocently ...

Always exciting to see something I worked on hit the top 10 list, especially a book I'm as proud of as I am of Spheres of Might! Thank you so much for your consideration!

Ohh, more Kobold modules? *_* Want!

Thanks, Michael! And yeah, Skill Challenge Handbook vs. Spheres was a tough call - I ended up giving the SCH #1 since it's *slightly* more generally useful, but it was the toughest call in the whole Top Ten...So yeah, you, N. Jolly and the rest of the team did a phenomenal job on Spheres!
