Character lost an eye

An NPC hit with a wound and took out the character's eye. We couldn't figure out a way to resolve the condition, so is she stuck with a -2 to perception until she can afford one of the cybernetic eyes?

The spell Regenerate would help, but it is a level 6 spell, so not cheap either.

The character gets an eyepatch and can now become a pirate. Also, the fun and games are over.

Just in case someone else finds this, the player ended up spending their fame to purchase a regenerate spell.

Was the loss of the eye as a result of the wound written into the scenario? I don't claim to have read/played every scenario, but I do not recall any that specifically and permanently target a PC's eye.

Weapons with the “wound” critical hit effect have a random additional effect from rolling on a table (CRB page 182), one possibility of which is the loss of an eye if the target fails a saving throw.

For anyone finding this thread, Thursty has clarified that you don’t have to get a lost eye replaced and that you can get your eye replaced with a standard (no special abilities) prosthetic.

I suspect this will appear in a more official Starfinder Core Rulebook errata in the future, but for now, this ruling is official for Starfinder Society Organized Play.
