Software "advertising"

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I have written some software for Pathfinder RPG (some paid, some free).
Am I allowed to "advertise" in the forums?

You should contact Paizo directly.

The only thing I can find in community guidelines is:

Quote:

Spam

Spam can include cross-posting the same information in multiple threads across multiple forums, repeated advertisements in several threads, or posts containing less than helpful content (such as "+1", "first post", or "grabbing popcorn"). We encourage meaningful conversations on our messageboards and spam posts are often counter to this goal.

So, best case scenario you might be allowed to start a single thread about your product. But posting links to it in multiple threads or trying to suggest it in multiple places on the forums probably wouldn't be accepted.

This is the Pathfinder Third Party product forum. That's where 3PP generally promote their products - it's certainly allowed within the forum guidelines.

It's worth being sure you are complying with the OGL (I understand there are issues with computer programs utilising OGL material, but I don't know what they are).

There is a Community Use Policy, but if some of what you do is for money you won't be able to use it (so you can't reference Paizo IP, even in the free stuff).

Ok. Thanks for advice.
