Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hey hey,

Not sure if this has been covered before, and please point me to the correct thread if it has, but coming form Eborron in 3.5 to the Inner Sea, is there a printed history that details everything from the beginning to now, or have I had a brain fart? I am missing where this is, as I have an inkling that I've read a history before...

I'm wanting to know more about the historical influence of dragons and their continued legacy, as both my Bloodrager and my wife's Bard have draconic leanings.

Thanks in advance,

I think what you're looking for is in the Inner Sea World Guide book. There's also the old campaign setting book; the Inner Sea World Guide is basically the newer version of that one, but it should be enough for what you're looking for.

Shadow Lodge

There's this video that covers the world in broad strokes, but dragons mostly haven't made that big an impact. You'd probably need to delve into the ISWG or the wiki pages for that.

History of Golarion

A lot of Dragons Revisited has fallen by the way side, but it may be helpful for ideas. (And some it's been ratified, like the great wyrm gold dragon that lives in Nidal's capital.)

Oh, and Brevoy. The north-eastern most kingdom (the one sponsoring the party in Kingmaker) was founded by a red dragon, Choral the Conquerer, who wandered off for a while.

There's also Kazavon, a blue dragon disciple of Zon-Kuthon who masqueraded as a mortal and ruled a giant chunk of Belkzen for a while.

And of course there's the Land of the Linnorm Kings, where your right to rule is literally proven by being awesome enough to kill (or subjugate!) a linnorm.

But in general, dragons actually influencing stuff is fairly rare. Inner Sea World Guide and its various oddities are your best bet. Dragon-influenced regions are the exception, not the rule.

As already mentioned, a comprehensive timeline of of the Inner Sea region is located in the Inner sea Guide, pages 33-37, but it mentions few dragons.

Dragons Revisited was also mentioned: it contains a detailed description of a dragon of every chromatic or metallic type. So does Dragons Unleashed.

Barring the time before the rise of Azlant, when some think dragons ruled the woeld, dragons had little influence over the Inner sea region.

Notable mentions:
Choral the Conqueror used a pair of red dragon dragons to conquer the region that is now Brevoy, but as far as I know, he wasn't a dragon himself. He may not be related to red dragon Daralathyxl, sometimes called "the Sixth King of the Five Kings Mountains", since the ruling house Rogavia disappeared the same year that Daralathyxl was last seen, but it may also be a coincidence.

Gold dragon Mengkare rules a state on the isle of Hermea, but it is isolationist and has almost no effect on the life of people outside (except being the reason many people disappear trying to sneak in).

Already mentioned, blue dragon Kazavon ruled Hold of Belkzen for some time and raided neighbouring areas.

Other dragons are described in mentioned books, but their affect little or only locally.
