I think you might be reading it backwards. Acavna, the Azlanti Goddess of the moon and battle, pulled the moon from orbit to block the starstone. The startstone hit the moon. The starstone shattered, with the biggest piece falling into the ocean to later be raised by Aroden. The moon then returned to orbit. I'm pretty sure the moonscar module takes place where the startsone hit the moon. (that could be mis-remembering though)
edit: the aboleth article is written differently than the earthfall article, and the starstone article... so I can see if you were reading just the aboleth article it points to that

Exactly, I was wondering if the Aboleth article contained information not mentioned elsewhere, or is in error/ contains early lore that has been retconned.
looks like they all use mythic realms as thier source.... I'll take a look later tonight if I remember, and edit them to be accurate

I can see from the text how it could be interpreted either way
she dragged the moon out of its orbit, into
the projectile’s deadly path. The dark star collided with her
lunar shield and shattered. But it did not slow. The resulting
rain of otherworldly blades riddled Acavna’s manifestation,
exacting wounds lethal even to a deity.
But when you follow up with the next paragraph:
Amaznen, Azlanti god of magic, distraught at his beloved’s
death, appeared before the rain of mountainous daggers still
hurtling toward Golarion. Concentrating his essence, he
sought out the ageless aboleth magic and spoke a word. With
it, he faded from being, taking the aboleth magic with him.
A storm from space rained down upon Golarion that day,
but what fell were stones only, without direction or drive.
its obvious that the daggers has the aboloth magic when they pierced the goddess, and thus were part of the starstone, not the moon. I have edited the Aboloth article to reflect this.
