Pathfinder's old logo is a strong one, please ...

Please keep Pathfinder 1's logo!

It signals "FANTASY", like no other!
The logo, standing alone, fairly reeks of Adventure, Romance, Sword & Sorcery!

The playtest logo, although pretty enough, doesn't really have much going for it fantasy-wise - it could be a logo for almost anything.

Keep the old one, please - too good to loose!

There will be a new logo for the new edition.

Future releases won't say "Pathfinder Second Edition" on the cover—they'll just be called "Pathfinder." And existing products aren't suddenly going to identify themselves as "First Edition." So differentiating the logo lets you spot at a glance which edition a product was designed for.

That said, the new logo will not be derived from the Pathfinder Playtest logo—it'll be something you haven't seen yet. (In fact, it'll be something I haven't seen yet...)

It's also worth pointing out that the new logo hasn't been designed yet, and it very well might include the phrase "second edition," at least for a while. Decisions like that haven't been made yet.
