I've played and run this twice now - one tiny detail has been a thorn in my side;

Spoiler:
Are Hira's known languages an easter egg or incidental? Specifically, Azlanti.

No other scenario has included an NPC that speaks Azlanti and without specific attention this detail is almost certain to go unnoticed by players. Also, its rare for NPCs to have incidental languages.

This stood out like a sore thumb in my first read-through, though GMs are given no special directions on how to share that potential clue. If the board of directors are somehow connected to the Azlanti, I'd expect some directions on how to foreshadow that at the table.

Sneaky!

Spoiler:
I had him cuss in an "unknown language" during combat after getting hit to give players a chance to learn that detail, in the last run-through one of them actually knew Azlanti. It led to a debate among the players on the subject. Did he really turn on his employers, or was the whole thing a set up? He really wasn't dressed to attend the concert..

Anyway, I can't wait to see where this is headed!

Ah flute.... I shouldn't haven't look at this thread. But really this should be something that you need to give the players a sling about.

Just played this tonight - got the first boon where I traded my physical copy for the dolls, valued at 3k credits. Why isn’t this worth 3000 credits on the chronicle like it was during the scenario? Did the BurgandyBear person screw me here?

Prepping this scenario to run in a few weeks and have a question re: the Ally Boon that can be gained from this scenario.

Spoiler:
In order to gain this boon for a GM, I will need to assign it to a character who has the item in question, is that correct? Ot seems odd that I could get the Ally boon without having the ability to provide the item in question.

Am I overthinking this? Probably !

another Spoiler:
As a follow-up, when I played it, my character did not have the item - someone else on the table did - should I have got the Ally boon, or just the player(s) with the item?

Thanks in advance.

This is the GM thread, no need for spoiler tags.

Your first question: I went with that the GM should cross off the album too. The language for GMs selecting boons has always been a bit fuzzy. I generally do it like this: the GM imagines that he's a player, making exactly the right choices to walk away with the nice boons. But the GM can't make any choices that would be impossible for a player. So if you normally have to choose between two things as a player and get a boon depending on your choice, then the GM can't get both boons either.

The second question can be answered from a line in the scenario:

page 8 wrote:
Multiple PCs can offer up their albums—BurgundyBear happily takes them all—and each PC who does so earns the Heart Friend Forever boon.

So yeah, you have to have the album yourself to earn the boon.

@Lau - Thanks for the quick response.

it's what I thought but the GM didn't cross it off my chronicle. Shame as the character who played it was a skittermander and the boon would have beena great RP opportunity (although not being recognised is also a great RP opportunity :-))
