Looking for class abilities that bypass DR

Hello!
I'm looking for class abilities/archetypes that allow the user to bypass DR - does anybody know of any?

I am aware of the Martial Artist Monk, and the Steel-Breaker Brawler, but I'm wondering if there's any other archetypes/abilties that function similar to the Exploit Weakness ability of those two archetypes.

Is there any others, or is it just those two?


Technically, the Arcane Pool of the Magus - when strong enough - can enchant a weapon to bypass many forms of DR. It won't work on everything, but it's good enough against most creatures.

A paladin’s Smite automatically bypasses all forms of DR.

Grand Lodge

Monk is general pick up metal and alignment by passing options.

Spells like align weapon, instant weapon works well.

Inquisitor with the anger inquisition can have a +5 equivalent weapon at level 6 (+1 furious bane).

Celestial blood rages weapons count as good-aligned.


The Iroran Paladin archetype (called 'enlightened paladin' on some websites when copyright is an issue) can get through DR.

The archetype does a few interesting things (such as providing a decent option to make a low armor tank with minimal investment), keeps a lot of the tanky abilities (lay on hands, spells, etc). But for this discussion, the most important ability is the one that switches out smite.

Instead of the high damage/alignment restriction of smite, the Iroran Paladin gets a more conventional judgement style +1 to +7 attack/damage against the target. No alignment restriction- it is a 'personal trial', all about testing yourself. The iroran paladin also gets a ki pool, and it can spend ki to ignore DR on the target of the personal trial. So you can ignore DR golems and other neutral creatures.


Speaking of the magus, a black blade, for those who have one, can deal sonic or force damage. That'll go through anything.

Just gonna add to this one, If it's DR specifically then any kind of elemental damage will get through it. If something has DR is too high to kill then you can just try some acid/cold/electricity/fire/sonic damage and see what happens (of course anything with DR that high probably has some energy resistance as well).


Fighters can bypass some DR with feats - (greater) penetrating strike.


Occultists with the Transformation Implement have a number of ways to overcome DR.

- The Philosopher's Touch Focus Ability lets your weapon(s) overcome cold iron, silver, and (at 11th level) even adamantine DR.
- The Legacy Weapon Base Focus Power lets you overcome DR by increasing your weapon's Enhancement Bonus, and after 6th level you can add Holy, Axiomatic, etc. to overcome alignment DR.
- They get a variety of spells that can overcome various types of DR: Versatile Weapon, Heart of the Metal, Magic Weapon, etc.

Grand Lodge

Look at the Kineticist class: some Kinetic blasts bypass DR, like Fire or Aether/Lightning. But they are spell-like abilities, so they bounce off of Spell Resistance instead.

Note that the results are the same for Kinetic Sword as for Kinetic Blast. Kinetic Sword is just a way to wield the blast as a melee weapon.

They can also use Warrior's Spirit Advanced Weapon Training to add some weapon enchantments to their weapon a couple times a day. Starting with a +1 weapon, you would just need a +3 weapon training(say, weapon training 1 + gloves of dueling) to add +2 and Bane(whatever you are fighting) to get around pretty much all DR.

Inquisitor can Bane anything on demand, and there is the Bless Equipment feat tree for temporary enchantments as well.


Summon Good Monster, Lantern Archon.

Fighters and the Arcane Duelist Bard gets Greater Penetrating Strike.

Clustered Shots helps overcome DR but doesn't bypass it.
