True Gods of Dual-Edge Genesis - Taking Suggestions

Homebrew and House Rules

I'm helping Loxsis with the gods of a campaign he's working on while he fixes some stuff with his races. Here's the story for Dual-Edge Genesis.

I'll be working under the following rules:

•4 major gods that preside over the four casting traditions and the four elements: Arcane(Fire), Divine(Air), Nature(Earth), and Psychic(Water). These gods have 5 domains (must be True Neutral) and 6 subdomains each and have the quarterstaff as their favored weapon.
•A minor Neutral Evil god of necromancy and corrupted magic with 4 domains and 4 subdomains, and has the club as their favored weapon.
•15 other minor gods of various facets of magic with 3 domains (must be at least partially Neutral) and 3 subdomains each, with the club as their favored weapon.

Any suggestions that helps expedite this ordeal would be much appreciated by me and Loxsis. I'm also willing to answer any questions you may have regarding these guidelines.

C'estax, Lord of the Hollow (god):
Domains: Death, Destruction, Evil, Madness
Subdomains: Corruption, Hatred, Nightmare, Undead
Portfolio: Necromancy, Spellblights, & Vengeance
Sacred Weapon: Club
Symbol: A rotten hand grasping a magic rod

That takes care of the god of Necromancy.

Again, I would appreciate it if anyone could help with these gods so I can be done with this little project of mine quickly.

Izumaé, God-Queen of Nature (major goddess):
Domains: Animal, Earth, Plant, Travel, Weather
Subdomains: Exploration, Feather, Fur, Growth, Insect, Seasons
Portfolio: Nature, Seasons, & Trails
Sacred Weapon: Quarterstaff
Symbol: a leaf with claw marks on it

Major God of Nature Magic is done. Anyone have any suggestions for gods?

I always like spreading to new worlds... muwahahahahaha.

Yidhra, the Dream Witch, Goddess of Paradoxes
Alignment: LN/CN
Domains: Chaos, Law, Madness
Subdomains: Whimsy, Legislation, Insanity
Portfolio: Paradoxes and things you ask about when you really should know better
Favored Weapon: Dagger
Symbol: A dot with three tendrils coming out of it contained in a circle.

Ok, that is both hilarious and genius. You know what? I'll let you add another domain and subdomain to your goddess if you want.

Generic fantasy names, no connection to RL gods, is that right?

& you haven't provided any more than the bare mechanical detail - would you like any more than that?

Officially, the next one for me would probably be Liberation (Self-Realization).

Yes, that would be correct.

As for detail, I'm not gonna bother with lore. Lazaryus knows a lot more about the world lore than me, so I'm just focusing on the mechanical parts for now. Since Lazaryus suggested that the gods are weakened, I figured that most of the gods should offer fewer domains and subdomains than normal. If you want, you could add lore, but I'm only adding portfilios and symbols.

You're not doing lore? Okay, I suppose...

If it helps, the True Gods are currently pissed with Humans for turning to machines over magic, weakening them, so they create small armies of the Hollow, undead corruptions of classic fantasy creatures designed to only be able to be injured and killed by magic, to force Humans to resort to magic, but Drakons keep killing the Hollow instead. Fed up with the situation, the True Gods are currently plotting to send nine decendants of the faithful 9 followers back in time to before the curse in the hopes that they keep Humans practicing magic.

RL religions exsist in this campaign, but only as an invention of a world that completely forgot about the True Gods, never granting domains or any other benefit of worship.

Here's a couple of suggestions.

Veisa of the Spiraling Coils (demigoddess):
Domains: Healing, Knowledge, Scalykind
Subdomains: Medicine, Dragon, Venom
Portfolio: Drugs, Visions, Mystical Dragons
Sacred Weapon: Club
Symbol: A red and green spiral

Veisa played a part in shaping the first Drakons with her knowledge of medicine and dragons, but is not particularly attached to them. Or anything, apparently; she's a very detached goddess.

Karch, Lord of the Frozen Wastes (demigod):
Domains: Evil, Madness, Water
Subdomains: Cannibalism, Fear, Ice
Portfolio: Isolation, Testing, Personal Power,
Sacred Weapon: Club
Symbol: An icy tower

Karch's worshippers had more reason than most to abandon him, as his goal was to force them to reach beyond their limits to claim power. If they broke and turned to the wendigos or worse he would not necessarily count that as a failure.

Ooh, let me try:

Yeala, the Joy-Bringer (goddess):
Domains: Chaos, Charm, Liberation
Subdomains: Freedom, Love, Whimsy
Portfolio: Joy, Jokes, & Forgiveness
Sacred Weapon: Club
Symbol: a crystal butterfly

One of six gods who meddled with Velsa's creation of Drakons, Yeala imbued the newborn race with some of her essence. Despite the Humans' lack of faith, she still admires them.

How about this god imbuing Drakons with the essence of Vengeance?

Feel free to add whatever lore you want.

Eh, I can't really think of lore for Izumaé or Yidhra.

Yidhra, you there?

Have you considered looking at my profile for inspiration?

Ok, I have an idea:
• Yidhra imbued the essence of Embarrassment (due strictly to her divergent nature)
• Karch imbued the essence of Sorrow, and gains the Darkness domain with the Loss subdomain
• Veisa gains a domain and a subdomain (I don't know what exactly)
• Yeala gains the Luck domain with the Imagination subdomain
• Minor gods now offer 4 domains and 4 subdomains
• The nine chosen decendants will eventually attain a god-like status
• Cut down the starting gods to the 4 Major gods, Veisa, and 6 Minor gods who each imbued Drakons with their essence

So now you only need to figure out the Major Gods of Arcane, Divine, and Psychic magic, as well as the Minor Gods that supplied the Pride and Illumination essences.

Give Veisa Repose (Souls).

Delwrak, Lord of Champions (good):
Domains: Glory, Good, Strength, War
Subdomains: Duels, Friendship, Heroism, Resolve
Portfolio: Gladiators, Adventure, & Heroes
Sacred Weapon: Longsword
Symbol: A helix-patterned sword

Delwrak is loaded with pride to his eyeballs from the look of him. The glory domain, heroism & duels subdomains, a refusal to be seen with a sacred club or quarterstaff like his peers. He would naturally provide the Essence of Pride.

For the Essence of Ilumination consider this:

Basudran, Master of Boundaries
Domains: Law, Protection, Sun, Void
Subdomains: Inevitable, Light, Revelation, Stars
Portfolio: Guardians, Borders, Tradition
Sacred Weapon: Club
Symbol: Two men facing each other, one painted dark and one light

Basudran concerns himself with all boundaries, but especially those which need watching - whether mortal or the empty spaces between Earth and the Far Realms.

He has a very definite us-and-them attitude. Humans are decidedly them as long as they refuse to worship the true gods but any that return to the fold he'll accept immediately.

Alright, now for the Major Gods:

Azenatl, the Celestial Bookkeeper (god):
Domains: Fire, Knowledge, Luck, Magic, Rune
Subdomains: Arcane, Education, Fate, Language, Memory, Rites
Portfolio: Arcana, Books, & History
Sacred Weapon: Quarterstaff
Symbol: a staff with a book hanging from it

Does anyone have any suggestions for the other two?

Bump.

I think some background detail is necessary to make sense of the Celestial Bookkeeper being a god of fire and magic. Perhaps Azenatl is a great efreeti and tracks all the wish spells of the world? If the other elemental/magic gods are a marid, djinni and shaitan that could be a useful piece of world-building info and might give you guys a hook on how to imagine Izumaé.

Assuming you go with that, that makes the psychic/water god a marid. Good with illusions, unpredictable and capricious, fond of performers and performing. Not much liked by shaitans which in this case means Izumaé. As a god perhaps...

Sabell, Ocean's Heart (goddess)
Domains: Charm, Strength, Trickery, Water, Weather
Subdomains: Captivation, Competition, Deception, Flowing, Oceans, Storms
Portfolio: Artists & Performers, Seas, Oceans & those who make their living from them.
Sacred Weapon: Quarterstaff
Symbol: A wave under the moon

Fickle and deceptive as the sea but said to love her followers (back when she had a few), Sabell is a dangerous being to have around. While she appreciates a fine performance it's up in the air whether she would reward the performer or give her favour to an up and coming rival.

There's a lot of "-ion"s. Good thing the god of Divine magic (Air) is next.

& here's my take on that. A couple more 'ions I'm afraid Loxsis. I guess Arawad can turn them into lightning.

Arawad, Spirit of Unity (god)
Domains: Air, Community, Healing, Magic, Nobility
Subdomains: Cloud, Wind, Cooperation, Restoration, Divine, Martyr
Portfolio: Healing, Communication, the many being more than the sum of its parts
Sacred Weapon: Quarterstaff
Symbol: A man seated on a cloud

The basis of Divine magic is a link which turns faith into power and shares it back with the faithful. To Arawad that is both a practical and a philosophical goal, and his fury at the faithful abandoning him cannot be underestimated. Has he not upheld his side of this bargain, this symbiosis? To the final darkness with the traitors then!

Ok, that's all of them. Thank you, Yidhra and Avr.

I copied all of the Gods down. I'll add lore to those missing it later.
