I'm working on the specifics of the crunch of my submission.

Silas Kaine is an elven arcane trickster (either Wiz3,UnRogue1,ArTrick9 or Wiz3,UnRogue2,ArTrick8) He'll be both a skill character able to deal with traps and a ranged ambush/sneak attack specialist.

Silas Kaine Background:

1)I'd like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.

a. Silas is semi-retired from his adventuring days
b. He spent his career working with a band of robin-hood type rogues that stole from bad guys and spent the money on helping the poor and having a good time
c. He apprenticed at the Academy in Korvosa over thirty years ago but was kicked out for dishonesty.
d. He’s always specialized in being sneaky and only fighting when he has the element of surprise.
e. Silas tries not to get involved in a stand up slugfest and doesn’t like it when the other side has as much or more information than he does.

2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.

a. Silas would really like to solve the challenge at the Academy and show them up after they threw him out all those years ago.
b. Silas needs to surprise and alpha strike badguys with his combination of stealth and magical abilities.

3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling.

a. Silas didn’t really cheat back when he was thrown out of the academy, someone else did and Silas only lied about who was involved, trying not to be a snitch
b. Unknown to Silas, the episode at the Academy was engineered to get him thrown out because of politics and several of the instructors were involved.

4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five.

a. Toucall Kaine, Silas’ father was a wizard of middling abilities who attended the Academy over 100 years ago.
b. Dornal Treadwell, a dwarven engineer and trapsmith who worked with Silas for years breaking and entering into the lairs of evil wizards, dragons, and giants
c. Louis Kranack - an illusionist of some power who was the classmate that Silas was thrown out of the Academy trying to protect. Louis now teaches as an adjunct in the Academy
D. Cole Larkspine – an ambassador from Cheliax that Silas embarrassed a number of years ago.

5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission. Including Lorrimor in one of those might not be a bad idea.

a. Being thrown out of the Academy was the most pivotal moment of his early life.
b. In the middle of his career, Silas and his crew stole a treasure chest from the residence of a Cheliax ambassador that was meant to bribe a number of Andoran officials. The gang threw a big party with some of the proceeds and gifted the rest to organizations fighting against oppression by the devils in Cheliax.
c. Late in his career, Silas lost two of his friends when a job he had planned went wrong and they were trapped in a maze of tunnels by a mad minotaur berserker. Silas semi-retired after that episode because he didn’t want to risk his friends anymore.

NarcoticSqurl here. I've got the backstory completely written up, so I'll go ahead and post here. I'm doing a full crunch write up (easier to keep track of for me that way) too that I'll have on the profile page, but that's still being done. Here's Erik Draden, 13th level Alchemist! (Edit: Crunch added to Profile)

Points of Character Concept[/spoiler:

1: Erik is a monster slayer for hire. He travels throughout
Golarion taking contracts for troublesome beasts, and even
mysteries that normal people are afraid to investigate.

2: Erik had an extremely harsh childhood (more in secrets).
While during his youth he was a huge lover of nature and
botany, he spent a lot of time reading and camping with his
father. But he had become an orphan at the age of 10, and his
studies halted until he was later taken as an apprentice for
alchemy. During his apprenticeship, he also took to learning
swordcraft.

3. He has always had a respect for swordcraft. Seeing practice
battles between studying warriors and guards, he always thought
the dance of swords was a beautiful artform, and so decided he
wanted to learn. He opted to learn with a Bastard Sword, as
something so large required him to be in tune with it
completely to be effective. This bond with his weapon was what
he considered to be so beautiful about the art.

4. Originaly from Korvosa, he's always returned to the city at
the time of the Breaching Festival, because he's always hoped
that somebody would once in his lifetime succeed. Because of
his training in Alchemy, he's always been curious what reward
one could find from the secrets within the Academy itself. The
allure of this year being the most dangerous, the potential
reward of knowledge from the Academy, and the status it would
garner for him to achieve his goal of building a lodge of
hunters has given him haste to accept the invitation.

5. Erik has a disgusting hatred for beasts of all kind.
Anything that threatens the lives of people, families of all
kind. He doesn't see himself as a protector of any sort. He
simply believes civilization doesn't belong on the food chain.

6. Erik often goes to the site of where he was attacked as a
child. The very place he was orphaned, in part to help fuel his
rage, but also because he feels he missed something about that
night that drives him to learn the truth.

Two Goals to Accomplish:

1. Eriks main goal is to discover what happened the night he
was orphaned. To figure out if the beast that attacked him is
still alive, and to take his revenge if possible.

2. To form a lodge and school of monster hunters that can
protect the lands of Golarion in many different places. Monster
hunting is a dangerous task, and although he already has a
friend who has taken the quest with him, in order to do this he
would need to garner support and reknown. The invitation to
participate in the Breaching Ceremony is the perfect way to do
so.

Secrets!!!:

1. Erik was raised by his father after his mother went missing
on a camping trip as a child (age 5). His father and him were
awoken at night by the shouting and screaming of his mother.
She was being attacked and dragged away by a large creature
with sharp teeth, claws, and fur covering from head to toe.
Based on the description of the beast, claw marks at the scene,
and blood gathered, it was determined to be a werewolf attack.

Years later (age 10) while going on a camping excavation to
learn more about his childhood botany obsession, he was
attacked again. During the second attack, his father had
stabbed the beast, and tried to lead it away from Erik. Telling
his boy to run, Erik fled for the city, doing what he could to
stay alive until he was safely back in the city. He was
questioned about the second attack, but refused to admit what
happened. He told authorities it was a large bear that had
taken his father. While suffering a bite from the werewolf in
question, it did not effect him as it had his mother. But this
mark had kept the memory fresh in his mind for years to come.

2. While the first attack was a coincidence, the second attack
was not. The first werewolf to attack the family was a mut. A
lone werewolf with no pack (though not known at the time). It
saw prey, and while initially trying to attack Erik, his mother
got in the way. This was the chance Erik and his father needed
to flee to safety. The second attack was coordinated. What Erik
didn't know is that the first attack hadn't killed his mother.
She had taken a knife with her as she was being dragged off.
Before she could be killed, she managed to slit the throat of
the beast that had ahold of her. Although she was gravely
wounded herself, the mutagen of the werewolf had actually
transformed her. She knew she could not return to the city as
his mother, because she would be hunted and killed. Instead she
decided to hide in the city by day, and hunt the wilderness by
night

While watching her son grow up in secret, she learned some
terrible news. After her dissapearence, her husband had grown
delusional, angry, volital, and dangerous. He had been
teatering on the brink of abusive to Erik for the last two
years before the second attack. She learned he had made a deal
with a crazed alchemist. The man needed a werewolf mutagen for
his odd experiments, and while he didn't know where he would
find one, he believed that the first werewolf attack had been a
pack coordinated one. Eriks father agreed to try to lure the
pack out again, and so took his son out as bait for a two week
long excursion, under the guise that it would be a good chance
for Erik to learn more about the plants and ecosystems of the
surrounding area.

Erik's mother took the bait, seeking to kill the father for
betraying their son. When she commenced the attack, she knew
the father wouldn't come out of hiding unless she assulted her
son. Attacking quickly, she had bitten her son carefully on the
shoulder to avoid killing him. Eriks father attacked with a
silver knife he'd recieved from the alchemist, shouting for his
son to run. As Erik fled the scene, his father sought to kill
the wolf. He chased the beast away, and when she believed the
distance from Erik to be enough, she turned back, showing her
husband what she really was. This shocked the father, and she
revealed that she'd known what was happening. The father in a
fit of grief tried to flee. But Eriks mother caught him, and
killed him for trying to betray their son.
After the incident, she returned to stalking the city by day.
While she was keeping a close eye on her son, she discovered
something that she had never meant to happen. Erik had been
taken in as an apprentice by the same Alchemist her husband had
made the deal with.

NPC's tied to my character:

1. [Enemy] The Alchemist (Thaddius) who has taken him as an
apprentice. Though the ruse is to train Erik in the art of
Alchemy, he is harsh, and always has been. Erik has mostly
outgrown his apprenticeship, but still maintains ties to the
man for help in dealing with higher level alchemical
discoveries. The alchemist secretly wishes to find a way to
extract the werewolf mutagen from Erik. At any cost.

2. [Blood, Love] Erik's Mother (Amber). Though he doesn't know
she's still alive, she does her best to watch out for her son.
Even at 25, this capable man doesn't know what's happening
under his nose in regards to his teacher. She is watching and
doing her best to orchestrate the failure of Thaddius.

3. [Honor, Friendship] Eriks monster slaying friend (Garren).
Garren is a hunter who tracks beasts in the wilderness, taking
out nests, and following leads of dangerous creatures that have
been pestering villages and people. Althoug he doesn't
specialize in Alchemy like Erik does, he possesses a knack, or
rather a taste for dealing with the occult. Things such as dark
rituals, psychic possesion, ghostly encounters, and haunting
entities. These are the hunts he truly enjoys.

4. [Honor, Rivalry, Attraction] A fellow Alchemy practitioner
(Evelyn). Evelyn has lived in Korvosa her entire life. While
learning the secrets of Alchemy has been a passion of hers, she
sees Erik as a rival, whos abilities are still superior to
hers. She has a drive to best Erik in the realm of alchemy, but
finds his passion for the science, and eagerness to induldge
her rivalry, somewhat attractive.

Key Memories:

1. Erik remembers one night when his father came home. He was
drunk, and accused Erik of letting his mother die. He was
screaming that if he had just let the beast take him, his
mother would still be alive today.

2. During one of his earliest hunts, Erik had found his way to
Ravengro. He'd been searching for information on a hunt
involving a Buggane. Garren had suggested the library at the
University of Lepidstadt. While scouring for information, he
stumbled into Professor Lorrimor. They had a brief conversation
about Eriks hunt, and Lorrimor mentioned that "Knowing your
enemy is key to triumphing over them." He found Eriks desire to
make things safer for society admirable, and pointed him in the
direction of a book detailing the Buggane, and its habits. This
lead Erik to study his foes before engaging in battle whenever
possible.

3. Shortly after meeting Evelyn, Erik was returning from a hunt
and had left to seek out a bathhouse. While at the bathhouse,
he ran into Evelyn. Having been slightly intoxicated from
drinking during his soak, Evelyn induldged him with a one night
stand. Though after this encounter, she maintained that they
were still in competition in their discoveries, and most social
contact between them was sparce while their studies continued.

Fear/Paranoia:
Though he appears collected on his
hunts, complete darkness causes him to shiver. He believes it
has something to do with the werewolf attack. But when he's
surrounded by complete darkness, he can almost here the
snarling and heavy breathing of the werewolf. This causes him
to shiver and sweat profusely, and keeps him on edge.

My character is Zeph Ornelos, a graduate of the Acadamae and the illegitimate son of Toff Ornelos.

Background

Spoiler:

5+ Point Character Concept

1) as stated above, Zeph is the illegitimate son of Toff Ornelos, headmaster of the Acadamae;

2) he graduated the Acadamae with honors despite specializing in Divination rather than Conjuration;

3) he is a skilled battlemage (lots of offensive spells prepared);

4) he believes in preparation, preparation and preparation as the key to winning any contest; to this end, he uses divination and mundane means of information gathering to anticipate all contingencies;

5) Zeph leads a double life: the respectable adventurer by day and by night, the mysterious information broker catering to the criminal underworld known as "The Prodigal."

6) Zeph earned most of his wealth by participating in a number of dungeon delves like the one that found the Hollow Mountain.

Two Goals to be Achieved

1) as a graduate of the Acadamae, he wants to etch his name as a winner of the Breaching Festival;

2) on personal level, he wants to achieve some form of closure with Toff and his treatment of Zeph and his mother;

Two Secrets

1) Zeph knows he is the illegitimate son of Toff Ornelos;

2) but what he does not know is that someone disguised as Toff Ornelos killed his mother;

Some Persons with Whom Zeph has some sort of Connection

1) Toff Ornelos -- illegitimate father, on the one hand, Zeph hates his guts for abandoning him and his mother, on the other, he feels some measure of pride that he traces his lineage from one of Korvosa's noble families;

2) Guildmaster Boule -- leader of the Cerulean Society with whom The Prodigal does most of his business; (The fat SOB does not know that Zeph works to supplant him)

3) Volshyenek Ornelos -- killed Zeph's mother to cow Toff into submission; (he's an unknown adversary)

4) Some of the present faculty of the Acadamae are Zeph's contemporaries: the Dean of Evocation bullied him when they were young (Zeph will probably accept any challenge made by him to duel).

Memories that define Zeph as a person at present

1) the murder of his mother, the desire to find the identity of the killer has fueled Zeph's choice of divination as his field of specialization as well as keeping his spell list well-stocked with evocation spells.

2) bullying suffered at the hands of students at the Acadamae who made fun of him for his lack of family, again a reason for him having a well-stocked spell list;

3) Discovery of Toff Ornelos as his father, feelings of betrayal at the years of lack of paternal guidance.

Fears

He fears that he is under the eye of an enemy that he cannot identify.

...I did something nuts. Synth summoner that pretty much ruins everything ever.
Here is the crunch.
I only bothered putting up the fused stats.

I didn't write a background yet, because the crunch was so intensive and I've been extraordinarily busy. But the basic gist of his story is that Asher was a slave. I'm going for a Green Lantern-esque vibe...he found his Eidolon injured, and had to bond with it so that the Eidolon could live. Upon doing so he was gifted with extraordinary powers which he used to free himself and his fellow slaves. He became an adventurer after that, putting his powers and wealth towards defending the helpless. He's going to the Academae to use the fabled wealth to further those goals.
I'll get something full up for him if you decide you want to go with him. I originally wanted to create a guy with arcane casting options since we seemed light on that...then I got caught up in the fun of building this monstrosity :3

I'd be happy to roll with Tien, though!

My character's background is turning into a short story and I spent too much time working on that. I don't have time to formulate and edit it down to match the desired format so I will have to bow out as well.
