Children of Westcrown one-shot?

Has anyone ever run a one-shot with the players controlling the Children of Westcrown?

In my campaign, my players have taken time to train up and bond with some of the CoWs (some have fallen by the wayside a bit, but I occasionally talk about what they're doing, so they're not completely off the radar). While the PCs are doing their thing, I mention that the CoW members are running their own missions, like dealing with some local thugs, clearing out a nest of goblins, or securing a location for some townsfolk.

They've mostly used the CoWs as resources or opportunities to roleplay, but I thought it might be a bit of fun to have a situation drop into Areal's lap that's obviously too high for the PCs, so he asks the PCs to pick out some CoWs to deal with it. Normally, my players just pick some of the members and then return to their plot, but I thought it might be fun to stop them, hand over the character sheets for the CoWs they picked, and then have them run the mission.

Any thoughts? Has anyone done this? I'm thinking about opening Book Three with this, since there'll probably have to be some implied downtime after Book Two.

What level would the children be? There might be a PFS scenario that can fit ...

They'll be third level (one of expert, two of their class). Basically, I level them up after each book so that they'll still be somewhat useful, but they'll also not be so powerful that they'll make the PCs moot.

A scenario might be just the ticket... I haven't run one before (this is the first time I haven't done homebrew). Do you have any you could recommend?

This is how I deal with moments where a few essential players can't make it, and the next "core" session is going to be plot critical (so most sessions of books 2/3). I've been leveling up the CoW based on what the party has had them doing, and occasionally the available players suit up as Amaya (bard), Sclavo (investigator), and Trakis (fetchling rogue from Midnight Mirror) to go run modules or one-shots tangentially related to the main plot.

Oh, I like that! Any particular one-shots or modules?

So far I've only run them through the module "Feast of Ravenmoor" (requires some tweaking) and some homebrew stuff. "Feast" was fun, but the boss monster at the end killed Mathalen. That said, the surviving CoW got good XP and some decent loot, making them more valuable to the organization as a whole. My party loves Amaya.

Edit: It's also hilarious when the Primary PCs get back together, and have to ask how things have gone for the rest of the CoW. Walking into the safehouse after a day of theater auditions to discover "Some kind of Demon Mosquito got the monk" was great.

Rise of the Goblin Guild could be adapted for your group quite easily ... especially if the PCs haven't already dealt with Whitechin (Bastards of Erebus, page 33). With only three players, even at Lvl 3, tier 1-2 would work, but it might be a bit rough. Just ignore the faction missions.

Even if they have, nature abhors a vacuum.
