Andaisin, Greater Magic Weapon and Magic Vestment

In the "before combat" section, it says that she casts greater magic weapon and magic vestment, both of which would be a +2 enhancement bonus. Both her her weapon and armor in her combat gear section are listed as +2. Why would she cast those spells that wouldn't stack with what she already has? Am I missing something obvious?


The before combat buffs are usually included in most NPC's stats, so the +2's are from those spells, there is usually a section near the bottom of the NPC statblock, detailing theirs stats without buffs.

No; Penthau is right. I was checking the same thing and the listed gear (i.e. loot) is all +2 already in the equipment section.

So the spells would have no effect, as enhancement bonuses don't stack.


How about replacing them with Freedom of Movement (L 4) and Extended Spiritual Weapon (L 3 domain)? That also opens up the option of replacing her standard Spiritual Weapon (L 2 domain) with Death Knell (L 2 domain).

I was planning on replacing those spells, if I wasn't wrong about the spell choices she had. I was hoping to add some more ranged spells, since she died quickly in a couple of games once they got to her in melee.


I figured that it was a typo, because her having two +2 items(+3 with vicious) was a little too high of treasure value.

She gets a constant Freedom of Movement from the unhallow spell centered on the statue in the middle of the room.
