Thassilon and Aroden

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Scarab Sages

I've done some searching and haven't found anything so if I missed a resource please just point me in the right direction.

I'm curious if Aroden was alive during Thassilonian reign, or if he was born well after the Runelords went into slumber. I'm creating a home game campaign that will deal with some of this history and a main character is going to either be Aroden's son, or the son of a Runelord. Curious if it's possible for him to be both.

Cheers.

Aroden's only been dead for a little over a century in-setting.

Buuuuuuuuut I think Thassilon might have fallen before he was even born...

I'm pretty sure Aroden was alive during the fall of Thassilon. There's a bit in the Azlanti AP about him marshalling ships and survivors in Azlant shortly after Earthfall.

Thassilon and Azlant fell from the same cataclysm and Aroden was 'presumably' alive then, perhaps a child. But all we really know, as far as I'm aware, is that Aroden is "the last Azlanti" so he could have been the last child born to survivors of Earthfall -- a generation or three *after* Earthfall and the slumber of the Runelords of Thassilon.

I beleive he was called 'last Azlanti' because out of all Azlanti people that were alive when Azlant was stil a thing (i.e. before Earthfall) he's the one that lived the longest.

The Azlanti themselves were able to live through the Age of Darkness, "Lost Kingdoms" mentions some the remnants being conquered by the founders of Jistka Imperium during the Age of Anguish.
