They only way you will see any updates on currently existing PF1 content is if PF2 crashes and burns.
I've felt that, but it passes as soon as you realize that means it's being fixed by a group who couldn't fix Pathfinder even with the total freedom of doing so outside of errata and updates.
Maybe they'll take a completely new pass at the Shifter. Move it away from druid by removing the nature/animal focus. Look at cool and iconic shapeshifters and make sure those abilities are accessible. Consider what people may want to change into and support those idea. As is the poor class is little better than a druid archetype that trades casting and most of its wild shape options for full BAB I doubt it though.

Just because the shifter isn't the grandmaster of shapeshifting doesn't mean you can't have fun with it...
You can have fun with a cardboard box. I'm not going to vote A Cardboard Box as GOTY 2018.

PF1 fans are going to have to just get used to the fact that they are going to need to homebrew their own fixes going foreword ;)
This. From what I've seen so far, New 'n' Pathy! is not fixing Pathfinder. It's an entirely different game, much as 4e and 5e are entirely different games from 3e, 2e, and so on.
