Mythic Recalled Blessing

Rules Questions

Hi everyone, a couple of doubts I have using this. It says " If the spell heals damage or requires you to attempt a caster level check to cure an affliction or remove a condition, roll twice and take the higher result".

So that means that you roll double every healing dice - for example from any cure wounds spell - and take higher result?

Being a cleric, will this work if you spontaneously cast a cure spell in exchange for a previously prepared spell?

To answer your first question, if say you're rolling 4d8 for your heal spell, you would roll 4d8 and add them up to get a result, then you would roll all of the dice a second time and add them up. Which ever of those 2 results is higher, it's the one you get to use.

For your second question, the ability states.

I would take this to mean that you can use it on any spell that you prepared in the morning (regardless if it's been cast today or not). Additionally, since you can spontaneously cast cure spells, you would also be able to use it with any spell you can spontaneously cast regardless if you prepared it in the morning or not.

Now, if a DM wanted to be harsh, they could rule that since clerics prepare spells you can only use it to cast spells that you prepared that day. So, you wouldn't be able to use it on say "cure light wounds" unless you actually prepared that spell in a spell slot.

In either case it won't matter if you burned a spell to spontaneously cast a cure spell since the ability only checks against spells you prepared (for preparation casters) and spells you can spontaneously cast (for spontaneous casters).

The arcane version of this ability even clarifies this point.

As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to cast any one arcane spell without expending a prepared spell or spell slot. If you prepare spells, this spell must be one you prepared today (even if you have already cast it); if you’re a spontaneous caster, this spell must be one of your spells known.
