No more Shifter changes?

I've noticed that Shifter has been approved for PFS. I guess that's it then for the Shifter class. There was still issues with the Shifter like having dead 5 dead levels where they got nothing but an increase to either defensive instinct or shifter claws, the strange placement of A Thousand Faces at 18th level, and how wonky and unsatisfying the shifter aspects are especially when they last a short period of time. What about satisfying changes to wild shape? What about druid and shifter interactions with wild shape? I guess that's asking too much with a new edition on the way.

There should have been a playtest.

The impression is that the "new edition", etc... are all excuses for the lower quality of the issued product and the fact that Paizo seems to be moving from a passion-based/developer-lead model to a money-based/Finance-lead model.

They are generating hype to sell.

Making unpolished products because polished products take more time and time is a cost.

They don't care about fixing broken products because time is a cost and fixing a broken product is a cost not covered by revenues.

They have released Starfinder as a totally different game with limited compatibility, which is something I doubt most people would have felt the need...why?

...because by changing the game and forcing compatibility issues will make impossible for you to re-use the existing game material!

Now they are releasing Pathfinder 2.0...

They are with hand full with Starfinder...they aren't even able to release a proper polished Ultimate manual (as shown with Ultimate Wilderness)...and still they are making a new edition...why?

Because it is "instant fresh cash":

As a player, they'll force you to gulp down this Pathfinder 2.0 edition no matter what...because PFS will move to this edition...

Doesn't matter if the mechanics are badly written, seems to be made only to artificially generate unnecessary change or if you don't like the idea of changing edition...

...and then...all the options you had...all the things you have made for your characters...

...new edition...they are all gone!!

You'll have to go back to making a basic character until they decide to "reintroduce" the stuff you previously had to Pathfinder 2.0 and cough up the money for it!

This is what TSR...Wizards of the Coast...has done with Dungeons & Dragons...people who weren't happy with it moved to Pathfinder...

...and now Paizo is doing exactly the very same thing with Pathfinder!

Just because a class is made PFS legal doesn't mean there won't be any more changes to the class, especially if PFS is involved.

That being said, I can assure you that the Shifter changes aren't a priority, simply because between Starfinder and PF2, two major game systems, the Shifter is very low on the totem pole.

It's unlikely they will spend any more effort on correcting the Shifter or it's archetypes. If you plan to use them at your table....you may as well just house rule it.
