Questions about tier

when someone plays a 1-5 adventure with tiers 1-2 and 4-5, playing the high tier with a character level of 2 (rest of party was high), would they get only the low tier, or out of tier. Playing the high tier, technically would fit them in out of tier for not being 4 or 5, or would they only get low tier for being 2nd level even though they played the high tier.

If you are out of the subtier played, you get out-of-subtier gold.

So if you play high in a 1-5,
Level 1-2 PC: out-of-subtier gold
Level 3 PC: out-of-subtier gold
Level 4-5 PC: high subtier gold

If you play low in a 1-5,
Level 1-2 PC: low subtier gold
Level 3 PC: out-of-subtier gold
Level 4-5 PC: out-of-subtier gold

To add to what Kate posted, you also gain access to the items on the sheet based on which subtier you played. So if you played the 4-5 you'd have access to everything on the sheet (except for those items you may not have found).
