Theory Craft: 0 ACP plate, no magic, no feats, no levels.

Advice

Right now I'm looking at making a suit of Nimble Mithril Plate armor. It brings the ACP down to two. I want to take that to zero. I want that zero to work in an AMF. I don't have any feats to spare, and I'm not about to take fighter levels, but I can rain money on the problem.

Ideas?

Armor ointment reduces ACP by 1 for 8 hours and is nonmagical.

Good gods, that's awesome. That's a great item. Just one more point off... And before anyone suggests it, I've already looked into the Hellknight Plate option, the lower ACP from it wouldn't stack with mithril because the reduction is for MW, which is factored into the material already.

When you say 'no feats, no levels', should I assume you mean 'I have a character in play now and I am trying to get an item to work'?

I ask because I know the trait armor expert can reduce ACP by 1, which can help. Or have you taken that already?

Your guess that the character is already in play is accurate. My main wants to participate in tournament fighting. You know, spread name, glory, blah blah. The PROBLEM is that I'm using a heavily enchanted shield and Armor of Bones (oracle level 7), and my GM has threatened to hold said tournament in an AMF, just to bugger me. So I'm trying to find a way to replicate his AC without magic. The Nimble Mithral plate will do it (I loose a +2 off my enchanted shield, and the +6 from the Bone Armor, and nimble plate is +8 without the armor mod feat).

But that ACP just annoys me. As an oracle, I'm not proficient with heavy armor.
The trait would be AWESOME if I was building from scratch, though.

Minimum of -1.

Have you already taken traits? there is one that reduces ACP by 1

Suppose you went for medium armor instead - instead of nimble mithral full plate you get double-plated mithral kikko. The ACP will be zero though admittedly the armor bonus is only +6. It will be noticeably cheaper if that helps at all.

Well, it's not a bad idea, but I'd rather take the -1 to hit than take the -2 to my AC. Hopefully someone comes up with a better idea, but if not, I'll take what's here.

Hang on - you actually are proficient in medium armor. That means you don't need to reduce the ACP of medium armor to zero, which means that a double-plated mithral breastplate is possible. Armor +7, ACP -1 but no attack penalty for you. Or an adamantine breastplate without armor mods if you prefer w/armor +6, ACP -3 and DR 2/-.

I didn't think Oracles are proficient in Heavy Armor: how would you be wearing Plate Armor without taking a level in anything like Fighter?

Thats why he wants 0 ACP, the only downside of not being proficient is ACP applies to attack rolls and some additional skill checks, but if ACP is 0 then who cares.

This is the thing i love about PF, the fact that you are not "magically" prevented from wearing any armor, you can wear it, just deal with the consequences.

So, double-plated makes the armor a category heavier, so that doesn't work (sadly), because it's still heavy. The adamantine breastplate had been a consideration, though. I'd also considered Aranea Silk. I know, it's only effective against piercing, but it's still nice, and can go under anything.
