With 17 issues published, plus the Bestiary, I was curious to know: " As a player or as a GM, what did you use from Wayfinder in your game? How did it turn out?"

I figure this would be interesting to know as both feedback to the magazine and the writers, but also to help prospective writer by showing the area of interest.

I totally want to hear more about this!

I've pulled in monsters here and there to use in my random encounter charts to throw off player expectations. For those that know the Bestiaries by heart, this is a good way to throw them off a bit, letting the wonder of an encounter hit them again. I fully admit I started with ones that I submitted and it worked so well I continue to this day.

I have used most of the Ustalav/Gothic flavored articles, adventures, side treks, items, etc. My players love a dark gothic feel to their gaming and Wayfinder is used to give me more available evil to put in their way! :)

Occassionally we go all Arabian Knights for a change of pace, so all the desert, genie, sinbad like articles have seen use or are planned for use in the coming months.

The more recent anniversary edition containing AP targeted articles will see use of the next 2-3 years as we work through the APs supported by this very versatile and far reaching issue.

I've been using some of the stuff from Wayfinder#16 for my Iron Gods campaign. Definitely fun and flavorful!

Mainly so far I've used the monsters--currently planning to use the Osiriani themed ones to spice up the hex crawl part of book 3 of Mummy's Mask. I'm also planning on using the extra stuff about Muminofrah. My partner used the Runelords items in the anniversary edition as bonus treasure in the Seven Swords of Sin (he added that in when he was GMing RotRL for us).

I'm intending to use the ioun stone sorcerer bloodline for a PC when we get to playing Return of the Runelords.

And I played a PC maftet with the race build from my article from Wayfinder #14, though I was doing that before I submitted it to Wayfinder, so I don't know if that counts. :-)

Overall, I've been trying to work in more of it, because there's a lot of good stuff there. Need to get the earlier issues off my portable hard drive and onto my actual computer for easier reference...

Wayfinder #9 x2: I used the pre-gen PCs for The Foehammer Promise side-trek adventure (by Neil Spicer, + a bunch of great contributing artists), tweaked to be a band of dwarven outlaws in a home-brew I ran a few years ago (they were led by a custom gunslinger NPC villain). And another time, I ran the adventure itself as a one-shot, with the players choosing and using the pre-gens. We had fun at the table, and I enjoyed the art and maps, too.

Wayfinder #15: I got to play The Witch-Tree Sacrifices side-trek adventure at Paizo Con, run by none other than the author himself, Tim Nightengale. It's a great adventure, and I really enjoyed that. Though it's been almost a year, I think of that adventure from time to time, and it's next on my list to run as a one shot. I've been meaning to do it for a while, but you know how it is with several APs going on at once.

Wayfinder #16: My gm for the Iron Gods AP incorporated Krondarr in our adventure, an NPC from Weal or Woe: Pursue the Iron Princess (by Eric Hindley, with art by Frank Hessefort). We spent time with Krondarr, and fun was had by all.

I'll be honest... I'll forget when Wayfinder comes out (I realize now it's regularly around either Paizocon or GenCon) and forget to download it. When I do remember to pick it up, I mine it particularly for general ideas and things I can easily import to my adventures like the Weal/Woe NPCs, in-game games the PCs can play, and area descriptions. I tend not to use player options or monsters--would rather use tested material and tend to stick to the RPG line anyway for my and my players' sake. (The irony is the one thing I've ever written for Wayfinder was a player option--a class archetype--but that speaks to different interests in design vs what I want as a GM). I'm not one for fiction but do not begrudge it to those who enjoy it!

That's pretty cool. Anyone else wish to share their experience?

Although I have never had the opportunity to use any of this material, the best part, wealth of NPCs, adventures would definitely be used as well as both Kitsune subraces (issues #12 and #17) as they provide an interesting diversity and alternate flavor to this race.
