Alright, please explain how we're removing the identity of the Paladin by opening it up, without resorting to "tradition" or "I feel that it does" for your arguement.

Right now the only reasons I've heard are those ones, and frankly it's getting weary.

Also explain why NG can't make a good paladin.

I can't speak to all approaches, but Paladins as a branch of a larger class does nothing to harm the Paladin's identity.

Becoming a Paladin, being a Paladin, etc remain exactly the same as they would have otherwise.
