Almost June, and nothing was even said about Starfinder.

May is coming to an end and no book nor word from Devir. As expected from those liars.

I'm still waiting for an update from Devir on these issues. Thanks for your patience, all. Once I have something to announce, I'll definitely let everyone know.

No news? They put you to hold on while "they'll check for an answer"?

Friendly warning: That's all we get from them in the last years when anything about Pathfinder (and now Starfinder) is asked...

For you guys may be news, but that's all that we get from them: some poor/weak runarounds/lies that "they're looking further to give an answer".

They're just making fool of you. That's the very sad true.

As long as Paizo insist/persist on Devir, Pathfinder/Starfinder will NEVER thrive or at least be decently put up for sell or properly known in Brazil...

Well, maybe, if you want a good publisher, I would recomend New Order, in Brazil. They are very carefull about their products, and have been made an excellent work with all kind of RPG you can imagine.

Thanks for that, Jim... Any news on your front?

Mid June and no news whatsoever for Inner Sea World Guide, Kingmaker and Starfinder. If it is delayed, they should at least tell us that it would be delayed.

And all they released was a free PDF of We Be Goblins Too that clearly was made on the run (I mean, two translators for a 16 page book? Very fishy). It appears that they made this in an attempt to say: "Look! We are doing things! Believe us!"

Anyway, that is just to show that a no to Devir should really happen.

I now have the Inner Sea World Guide in my hands for approvals. So yes, it is very late, but it is actually in progress.

Good news!

But I have ambiguous feelings about it.

Devir had the license of the game "Werewolf the Apocalypse" and promised to publish the tribe novel “Get of Fenris & Shadow Lords", but never did it.

The only proof of that promise is an old site (which I think they forgot to shut down): http://www.geocities.ws/demonhunter9192/devir.htm

The site above points out that the tribe novel was translated (which would be under review).

Do you have any guarantee that the file you have will be published in Brazil?

I know I must be sounding paranoid, but it's years of disappointment with Devir.

Thanks in advance!

So, after more than 2 months of delay they send you ONE book of FOUR they promised to be released until june/2018? That's not so nice... but ok! Let's just hope this will have an acceptable quality (differently than the brazilian Core Rulebook and Bestiary).

Will you guys review the book and point corrections?

A nice tip to review the translation quality would be check if the Outer Planes were translated, since almost all their names are "common words" in english. None of those words are equal in portuguese so they all should be translated to give the readers the same meaning. They did this mistake in older D&D versions and can just be making again...
(The exception are Abaddon and Nirvana, since they have the same meaning in portuguese than in english.)

Here is how I think this should be translated:

Translated Outer Planes:

Abaddon = Abaddon
Abyss = Abismo
Axis = Eixo
Boneyard = Ossário
Elysium = Elísio
Heaven = Céu
Hell = Inferno
Maelstrom = Sorvedouro
Nirvana = Nirvana

Silver Crusade

We have a running gag that, if you want to play a good RPG, you should learn english. Devir is the point of this joke. As a brazilian, I know that we have very few options on our market if we want RPGs with more mature themes. We have a national D20 RPG but, my personal opinion, it is too childish.

I am really sorry for some of my friends, they would love to play PF 2.0, or even PF 1.0, if we had enough translated books. I myself play on forums or online, sadly, Devir lack of quality and super slow motion releases is drying the market for Pathfinder here.

It's not Paizo fault. But Devir is not a good bussiness for us.
Three main reasons:
- Lack of content
- Lack of quality
- Lack of communication

I know it may not be the right place for this question but, okay, we have an important book translated, still without any prevision, but without major doubts. The main question is: Is there a calendar that Devir has promised to follow? Or some forecast for Starfinder?
  After all, a few months ago it was said that the schedule was June 2018.

I don't think that my very limited Portuguese would allow me to correct anything.

But more to the point, the reason that we have translation partners is that we do not have the ability to do the translations ourselves. When I receive a translated product for review, I check to make sure that the art has been used appropriately and that all of the legal statements have been made correctly. We don't have the ability to check any of the actual translations and have to rely on our translation partners.

Inner Sea World Guide has been approved in Portuguese. Now they just need to get it printed and into stores!

My last information from Devir is that Starfinder has completed translation and is in layout. I don't have a revised date, but given that today is June 25 I think it's safe to say that it will not be released in June. :-) I'm sorry but I do not have a new date for you.

Good news everyone!

Devir is letting us down, AGAIN!

They failed to launch Pathfinder books (other than basic one) before Pathfidner 2...

When they release Inner Sea or Kingsmaker, will be included the 2nd edition rules on it?

Could they bring us Starfinder before Starfinder 2?

I gave up.

Thanks for the answer. Let's wait to see the final quality...

Let's wait... Again! First, it was scheduled to 2018 april, then was delayed to august, and now it's scheduled to release em september...

Did you already think about having brazilian professionals working for you, selling the PDF online and the physical books by print-on-demand or via some partner to just print it?

That way, you could assure the material released in portuguese at the same time than english, and no more brazilian fans rage upon you hehe.

Thanks again!

I have a team ready to do exactly that. We are proposing to 3rd parties that want to sell a translation of their PDFs in portuguese. The problem is, there wouldn´t be any physical copies.

Even if Paizo were willing to print the books in China and have them delivered to Brazil, they would still need a partner to do the warehousing and distribution of the book. Maybe someday there will be a business model that allow that, but right now Devir Brasil or another publisher have to do their job.

But i really wanted that Paizo allowed us to at least translate the Pathfinder Society material in-house. It is PDF-only anyway, and Pathfinder Society Brasil is stillborn until there is someway to allow the guide or adventures to be shared in Portuguese.

First and foremost, thanks for everyone's feedback. I've spoken with Devir about their upcoming products for Brazil, and they have plans to produce a number of books this year and next for both Pathfinder and Starfinder.

Pathfinder in 2018:

April: Inner Sea World Guide
May: Kingmaker Adventure Path #1 (parts 1 and 2)
August: Kingmaker Adventure Path #2 (parts 3 and 4)
November: Kingmaker Adventure Path #3 (parts 5 and 6)

Starfinder in 2018
June: Core Rulebook
October: Alien Archives

For 2019, you'll see the Jade Regent Adventure Path and more core Pathfinder books released. They'll also kick off the Dead Suns Adventure Path for Starfinder and Pact Worlds.

Once partners receive the final rules for Second Edition, we'll let everyone know their plans. We don't expect to know that until later in 2019, however.

Thanks again for supporting Paizo, and if you have any questions feel free to post here in the forums or drop me an email (jim.butler@paizo.com).

Well, it took just five months to Inner Sea World Guide be louched. This according o Amazon Brazil. As shown in thier site, the release date is September, 14.

(Link Below)

https://www.amazon.com.br/Pathfinder-Guia-Campanha-mar-Interior/dp/85753270 11?__mk_pt_BR=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=pathfinder+devir &qid=1534519266&sr=8-2-fkmrnull&ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_2

Is this the new schedule?
Any chances of Starfinder in November, then?

So, after announcing the worst crowdfunding ever yersterday (and hey, here in Brazil we love crowdfundings for RPGs, they really are the best thing happening for RPGs in the last years in our country), Devir told us that Inner Sea World Guide will be released in november, 7 (SEVEN INCREDIBLE) months after the schedule, and gave us no other information about any other products/books.

Will Paizo still accepting that total neglect and lack of care about their (and yours) customers? Will you guys be okay with your games being fully unknown here? That's so sad... :(

Please, reconsider remembering that there are other RPG publishers in Brazil. Just to list some:

*Pensamento Coletivo (Shadow of the Demon Lord, Interface Zero, and other games)
*New Order (13th Age, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, 7th Sea, and other games)
*Retropunk (Savage Worlds)
*Galapagos Jogos (Star Wars Edge of Empire)

However, I'd avoid RedBox, Meeple BR and Fire on Board, which are having issues on the court due to some mess they did with D&D 5e license.

Other not so good is Jambo, kind of a "mini Devir" (with associates working/worked at both Jambo and Devir) and that publish it's own 3.5 customized game (somewhat "similar" to Pathfinder 1ed).

Please, Paizo, show us that you care about brazilian fans/customers and wanna se Pathfinder/Starfinder thriving here.

Thanks again for your attention. ;)

Thank you, Jim! Its realy meaningfull to know that Paizo, after all, listened to their brazilian fans and took measures to garantee a (assiduous and professionally made) BR Portuguese pathfinder version would come to Brazil! I also thank all my brazilian mates, whom united their voices to mine and made this great change possible!
