Gaaah. Sorry to be absent all week. It seems my busy stretch at work (which I thought was ending) turned out to be a New Normal.
I hope to post tonight or (more likely) tomorrow.

Posts from 4/5 of us within 30 minutes. We're on a roll!
I don't have a ton of free time but can bop in for quick posts for a while...and should be able to do a longer post later, if need be.

@Ryli: Before you do anything, Lorthan should really try to finish off the purple golem first. If you can't Stone Shape the floor anymore, then maybe you can Stone Shape the wall after Lorthan destroys the purple golem. Also, I think that this part of your Wall of Lava spell could prove to be very useful.
Once per round as a move action, you can direct the wall of lava to erupt. This causes a plume of lava to fire at any target within 60 feet of either side of the wall, but reduces the wall’s overall size by 1d4 5-foot square sections. You must make a ranged touch attack to hit the target, which takes 10d6 points of fire damage on a hit. Holes created in a wall of lava from this effect instantly reseal, reducing the overall size of the wall.
@Eugeni: I think a Limited Wish Wall of Stone could prove to be incredibly useful right now. Alternatively, after Lorthan destroys purple golem, you can fly over and Limited Wish Stone Shape the wall into more cover.
This spell creates a wall of rock that merges into adjoining rock surfaces. A wall of stone is 1 inch thick per four caster levels and composed of up to one 5-foot square per level. You can double the wall’s area by halving its thickness. The wall cannot be conjured so that it occupies the same space as a creature or another object.
Unlike a wall of iron, you can create a wall of stone in almost any shape you desire. The wall created need not be vertical, nor rest upon any firm foundation; however, it must merge with and be solidly supported by existing stone. It can be used to bridge a chasm, for instance, or as a ramp. For this use, if the span is more than 20 feet, the wall must be arched and buttressed. This requirement reduces the spell’s area by half. The wall can be crudely shaped to allow crenelations, battlements, and so forth by likewise reducing the area.

Huh. Jeeves is in another room. If she can't actually see/know what's happening, then just let me know. For the sake of simplicity, because the narrative seems to be addressing everyone, I'm writing like she is. Perhaps Elthariel is acting as a proxy.
Ryli Marwari |
To all my games: I'm on vacation for the next week. I might be able to jump on for a quick post, but otherwise don't expect a lot out of me. You're free to bot me if I'm a player, or just banter and discuss things if I'm your GM.
Jeevika Kailani |
@Thron: With Ryli on vacation for the next week, now seems like a good time for Jeeves' divination spells.
Jeevika Kailani |
Is gyr still with us? I haven't seen any major activity from him in the last two weeks. The only sign that he's still around is that he favorited the post with Brodert Quink's letter.
Ryli Marwari |
I'm solo parent for the next couple days, and then hosting a summit for several teams from different offices at work...and then off to Alaska for two weeks!
All good stuff...but my posting will be (even more) scarce.
He posted over in Absalom what's going on with him. Sounds like he won't be giving us much activity in the weeks to come.
Zoli Tileani |
:(
Yeah. Pretty much. I'm quite bummed about it, given that there are really interesting things happening to/for Zoli right now...but I haven't been able to find the time when I'm not writing for work or busy with parenting responsibilities...and writing for work tends to zap my mental ability to write for fun.
I hope to get in a RP post or two this week, but no promises at this point.
Know that Zoli still loves you though!
EDIT
Kallie should totally hang out with Thisstle, our adopted goblin neice, who's being raised by Father Zantus & crew. No time to go find the link, and I know she's before CDL and Stalwart's time...but she's still there, I'm sure!
Jeevika Kailani |
@Zoli: If you could briefly reply to Jeevika's Miracle offer, that's all I really need. From there, if we proceed with it, I imagine Thron can just give us a fancy yay or nay on whether it works. However, I totally understand if you're a little too occupied at the moment. :)
Jeevika Kailani |
I'm a bit busy tonight. I will post tomorrow.
Jeevika Kailani |
Has the candle been expended yet? "As you begin to get things set up to cast the spell" seems to imply not yet, but I just want to be sure. If something is going to happen, it would be certainly nice to still have it unused; they are somewhat expensive.
Jeevika Kailani |
@Ryli: When you start explaining why you need to run off to the Kodar Mountains for a few weeks, I think it would be worth mentioning the recent gathering of the regional stone giant tribes. Since it sounds like they all live on the same plateau, surely the centaurs would have noticed the massing of the Plateau People as they prepared to march on Varisia.
It was most likely the single most tangible omen of Karzoug's impending return.
DM Thron |
It can continue some in spoilers if you want. I by no means want to take away from a good RP opportunity. But I also don't want to sideline the rest of the group. So I will move the game on along, but we can continue to RP out whatever scene you want in spoilers, and you can just play "close to the vest" with the group about what happened with the Thunderhooves until we finish up the scenes you wanna play out.
Jeevika Kailani |
@Thron: Jeeves will cast Ant Haul on Titanicus every day we travel. Even if he is already strong enough to carry the ship and everything on it as a light load, I imagine he'd still appreciate being three times as strong as usual.
Ryli Marwari |
Jeevika, that's a great spell. I'm always casting it on Olympus at the start of each day so he can carry a rider effortlessly. I'm pretty sure he's strong enough to carry someone now, but it's always nice to have on him just in case.
Thron, I'm good with spoilers continuing the centaur rp so that we don't slow down the main story. Another game I'm in calls that "flex time" and lets the side stories/conversations take place without bogging down the thread for everyone else. So no worries there.
Jeevika Kailani |
@Thron: Should high altitude actually be an issue yet? Quink's letter says that the Vekker brothers' camp was on the low mountains along a river. That sounds like we would still be at the base of the mountains.
Ryli Marwari |
Jeeves, I saw the sending, but I'm struggling to answer it since I don't know what it'll be like after nine days with the herd.
I'm guessing it'll be... complicated.
Which I hate that it slows things down. Maybe I'll hop on roll20 and see if I can find Thron so we can fast forward the time.
Jeevika Kailani |
That's fair. That said, I think it's also reasonable to fast forward and say that Ryli eventually settled in somewhat and was able to gradually explain what's been happening to the Thunderhooves.
Ryli Marwari |
Yeah, it mainly boils down to how cruel Thron wants to be. Does going off to fight Karzoug mean she'll be an Outcast, and forever separated from the tribe and Kallie? Thus forcing her to make a major sacrifice at the outset, or have to decide whether she uses her Supreme Druidic Powers to bully them into taking her back.
'Cause really, who wouldn't want a ~18th level druid on their side?
Ryli Marwari |
Nice!
Hey, Thron, I've got a ruling to ask you. Now that I've got the class ability to speak with any living thing, does it continue to work while I'm Wild Shaped? Polymorph rules state that I lose Ex abilities that are dependent on form. Speech might seem to be included in that, but while an animal I can speak with other animals of the same group. So I'd just be speaking with more things. I can see both sides. What do you think?

Sorry to hear about the house drama!
Unless you mean you've been watching marathon dramatic productions of House...in which case cool, if you're into it.
Jeevika Kailani |
Been under the weather this week. Will post sometime today.
Zoli Tileani |
I've updated our loot tracker, moving the Runeforge stuff to a new tab, and clearing the main one for NEW LOOT.
All I've put on it so far is gold dust, nuggets, and gems. Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Thron, a Swashbuckler's Targeted Strike says
as a full-round action the swashbuckler can spend 1 panache point to make an attack with a single light or one-handed piercing melee weapon that cripples part of a foe’s body. The swashbuckler chooses a part of the body to target. If the attack succeeds, in addition to the attack’s normal damage, the target suffers one of the following effects based on the part of the body targeted. If a creature doesn’t have one of the listed body locations, that body part cannot be targeted. Creatures that are immune to sneak attacks are also immune to targeted strikes. Items or abilities that protect a creature from critical hits also protect a creature from targeted strikes.
Arms: The target takes no damage from the attack, but it drops one carried item of the swashbuckler’s choice, even if the item is wielded with two hands. Items held in a locked gauntlet cannot be chosen.
Could that be used to break a grapple?
Jeevika Kailani |
Honestly, it might be better if you just knocked out Lorthan. He's already suffered a good deal of nonlethal damage, so Zoli should manage such a feat easily enough. Afterward, I can try reviving him with Heal, which is generally good at curing different forms of insanity.
