The Hell's Rebels movie

Movies

When are we going to hear some buzz about a Pathfinder movie? I think "Hell's Rebels" would be an amazing title for a movie, don't you think? the title alone will peak some major interest, is catchy, and the plot/story would be magnificent.

I think it's high time we start talking about a Pathfinder movie. People have been burned too much by other (now crappy) franchises. Paizo has the creative talent that's capable to pull it off with the movie folks.

Let's start the discussion. We all want it. The following is huge now.

Ive mentioned this several times but id love a pulpy adventure series revolving around the Pathfinder Society. More Indiana Jones in a strange new world and less ye olde fantasy film #123456789 with universe hanging in the balance.

Great idea Pan. I wouldn't mind if such a pulpy Netflix Original be set in the same universe as the theater release movie. That would be awesome.

I suspect Hell's Rebels would require too much CGI to make happen.

Perhaps it would be better to aim a little lower, to one of the more story-ish modules?

CGI is a time and money saver not an obstacle. The art is already plentiful and available in the Paizo books out there. :)

I can't tell if you're being serious or not.

A CGI heavy movie that aims to look better than an Asylum film requires a not so small fortune to make.

Maybe they could get Zach Synder to direct.

Don't be silly we would want a master such as Uwe Boll.

I wouldnt mind Sam Raimi on the project.

I personally would consider a movie based on any adventure path to be a horrible idea since barring a significant butchering of the books you're stuck with a plot structure that frankly doesn't work for a 90-150ish minute film.

Now, a mini-series (or series in general if you want to translate 1 book = 1 season) would work far better. While there's virtually no chance of this particular story getting green lit, this would hypothetically be the time to do it since massive budget tv series like Game of Thrones (which is fantasy to boot) are in and companies like netflix are being a bit experimental in general.

Honestly you could almost play it like a fantasy Narcos in set up although without the specific spotlight on Thrune that the various cartels got in that series.

Yes, the Netflix Original format would lend itself well to such a series.
